I guess it takes a pro to show you that you were doing it all wrong… Highly recommend taking a lesson with Krista or Wade – it’s well worth it. Once you have the basics down, you can really enjoy your time on the board. I’ve been there several times and loving it. Takes your mind off things and great workout and both of them are lovely people.

Took my first lesson (won at silent auction) today with Krista from SUP with Wade. Krista is a great teacher. She really made the lesson fun while teaching proper technique. She is very positive and encouraging. Great at giving small technique tips throughout the lesson. I have to say it did not feel like a lesson, but instead 3 friends paddle boarding around the harbor. With one that happened to know a lot about SUP. Super fun! The SP harbor was calm and easy to get around. Although I live closer to the MDR location, I will definitely come back to SP. Already planning my next paddle boarding day! I highly recommend SUP with Wade!

Totally awesome!
We had a lesson with Krista this morning at their San Pedro location.
Kind of nervous that I was too uncoordinated or clumsy. Planning to fall in the water repeatedly.
Happy to report that none of that was true. Krista is an excellent instructor. She gives you everything you need to be up skimming the water like a pro in no time at all. And the San Pedro location is really great for beginners. Not a lot of boat traffic and friendly people.
Can not wait to rent a paddle board (from Wades’s of course) and go out again. Awesome way to get exercise and spend the morning.
I would happily recommend SUP With Wade. They are very safe, professional and fun.

What an incredible experience! Our family took lessons from Wade this past weekend and I cannot say enough about how great it was. Krista was so helpful in working with us to schedule (as we were visiting from out of town) and we were happy to be able to take the lesson in San Pedro, which was much closer to where we were staying. This was everyone’s first time (including my young son), and everyone had a blast. Wade was a great instructor and had everyone up on the boards quickly. My son cannot stop talking about how fun it was and is already excited to go back to CA and do it again (with Wade, of course, who he has deemed the «coolest guy ever»). Thank you, Wade and Krista, for helping create great memories for our family!

I took a lesson with Wade a few weeks ago. It was great! They were easy to get a hold of and set up a lesson, Wade was very knowledgeable and I really felt I understood more of the technique and where and how I could practice on my own after leaving this lesson than in a lesson I had taken at a different place. Wade was also just a really nice guy and good teacher, I highly recommend!

Wade is extremely patient. I have congenital hearing loss in my right ear, which throws off my balance. I never thought I would be able to balance on the board, but with Wade’s instruction and feedback, I was up on my third try. Highly recommend him to anyone.

My first time stand up paddling was in Hawaii. We had a blast but it wasn’t until I took a lesson with Krista and Wade that I realized I had no idea what I was doing the first time around. To put it simply they are awesome! The lesson with Krista was really fun and informative, and paddling around with friends for a few hours at sunset was a great experience. If you’re looking for a place to SUP in the LA area, SUP with Wade is definitely the place to go!

We had previously SUPped with Wade and had a great experience, so when my fiancé’s parents came in to town we knew they would love to SUP with Wade. My future mother in law is very sporty but also dearly afraid of many things, so she was afraid of paddling out in the open. Wade was very patient and thoughtful –always easing her worries and guiding us effortlessly. In the end we all had a great time. Highly recommended for all.

One of the most memorable experiences I’ve ever had in LA. Wade, Krista, and Ryan all did a great job making my group feel good about their first time on paddleboards. A few of us have paddled before and a few of us had never touched one. Their team took the time to meet each person exactly where we were with each of our skills. Seeing the area from the vantage point is a must do. Seeing seals were a huge highlight.
