It been about a year from my last visit and it was as great or ever better than before. I had the burger and home made fries! Yum… thanks Gracie, I enjoyed every bit.

So glad I finally tried Walkers! Had always wanted to go. It’s quaint and felt like I had walked into my grandmas kitchen. The décor feels original and homey. We had burgers and the meatloaf sandwich. Both were juicy and flavorful. The portions were large. Home made fries and onion rings that were to die for! The woman working, Jami, was sweet and helpful, she even showed us some of the memorabilia. Can’t wait to go back! Don’t let the local bikers scare you off, they’re part of the charm!

Walkers Café is at the most beautiful location! I love eating breakfast with an ocean view! I can bring my dog over as its dog friendly, my pup knows that his treats are waiting for him. The burgers are fantastic! They always have fresh local grown avocado. This place is family owned and has TONs of history! I love hearing about it when ever I go in! You can also buy food and take it for a picnic across the street at beautiful point fermin park.

Terrific breakfast in a friendly, funky atmosphere. Service was great and prices very reasonable. Ordered biscuits and gravy — told me they were making fresh biscuits and would I mind waiting? Who does that these days? All food made from scratch. Great location right across from Pt Fermin park. Definitely worth making the trip. Oh, and cash only which probably helps keep their overhead down.

This café is a piece of history is actually the original loading area and booth where you would pay to get on the Los Angeles electric red car line. The ticket window for the red car is still inside. The tracks for the red car are still semi-visible in the street out front. This place has the reputation of a scary biker bar. It’s not The people are nice and the food is good and the view is one of the best in California. It looks like you could swim to Catalina Island from here. There’s a wonderful park across street. It doesn’t matter if you ride a bike drive a car or even a moped. All are welcome here. The food is homemade. The beer is cold authentic 1940s refrigerators with glass doors really cool. This is the last completely original authentic place I can think of it’s like walking back in time. Definitely worth checking out if they have an amazing avocado BLT and the burgers are really good. This is not a place that’s trying to look original it is completely original very cool to see family businesses alive and well keep up the great work Jami. Ask her to show you some of the history and she will bring out some books with some amazing pictures that you can’t see anywhere else this place is a true time capsule

Amazing little place, great people and great food, overlooking a beautiful park and our breathtaking pacific ocean. If you are a local or not, you are welcomed with open arms and it’s a place that once you go, you will look forward to your next visit. Don’t take my word for it, experience it for yourself and you will see.

When I’m king I’m gonna make Walker’s the official restaurant of San Pedro. Sure, there’s plenty of divey places in this town but none of them are as Pedro as Walker’s. This place is an institution. I don’t know what secret sauce they’re putting in the food but everything blows us away, every time. Not to mention they’re one of the few places you can still get a «regular» Coors. The breakfast sandwiches are killer. It’s not the most inviting place in the world, but put on your big boy pants and go in, knock back some beers and check out all the sketchy stuff going on in the park. You won’t regret it. CASHONLY!

I was here only for a little bit but the prices seemed reasonable and everyone was having a good time. Awesome spot not far from the ocean to have some good spirits beer or food.

Great little spot for bikers to have some good food! Love this place and the location. Food takes a few to get out but totally worth it! The place is vintage and a little… worn but helps enhance the atmosphere.

The manager was fuckin’ rude, my friend’s food wasn’t fully cooked. She argued with him about a family member dying. Which doesn’t have shit to do with a corn dog…

This was the closest good spot me and my friends could find. After me and my friends ordered, we were asked if it is for take out or dine in. We said that we were gonna go for a take out and then the cook abruptly said to us, ‘it better be for take out, this is not a school playground’. We then didn’t mind that comment, but when we stood at the small spot of the restaurant, we heard the cook talking crap about us saying ‘I’m gonna burn their corndogs’. When we got our food, the corndog was burnt and frozen inside. We then asked for a refund but she shouted at us and said ‘I just wasted 4 corn dogs for you guys, I’m not going to make another one’. This has to be the worst café res I’ve been in, there is no respect whatsoever. I wouldn’t recommend it to anybody.

I visited this place in need of a corn dog it was appealing to me but the manager or some sort of lady was very rude when my group of friends arrived she is rude as fuck and I hope she can learn some respect. She wasn’t going give me my money back because she burned 4 corndogs. That’s not my fault that she didn’t defrost my corn dogs. This is the worst place ever… Bitch

We wanted to take a tour at the Lighthouse across the street, but it wouldn’t be for another half hour, as the tours are guided. So, we mentioned we were thirsty and hungry, and the man at the lighthouse mentioned«the biker bar across the street.» When we got to Walker’s Café, the waitress invited us in, and mentioned the menu up on the wall was not the current menu, but a novelty they have had since the café opened up in the 1940s. She proceeded to give us a history lesson regarding«the sunken city» as having never«sunk» from a sinkhole or a landslide, but a break from the Long Beach earthquake in 1933. As we drank our beers, ate freshly peeled and cut fries(they have a potato cutting press from 1940s where their peeler smiles as he peels and presses), and my husband had his $ 1 pickled hardboiled egg, we learned a little bit about the café and its beginning. She said it was never a «biker bar» but a café that catered to the soldiers during WWII, and a trolly used to pull up and take the drunken sailors to their barracks. At some point, bikers came to the café to mingle and eat, and one should not feel intimidated coming to this family restaurant. The interior is old, menu classic American(burgers, chili, waffles and eggs, hot dogs, etc), and many original pieces in their kitchen, including the old refrigerator and potato cutting press. But, that is what gives charm to this hidden gem. Unfortunately, being vegan, there was not much for me to eat, however, they have begun to offer turkey burgers as they transition their menu to the healthier-eating customers. All-in-all, we had a pleasant experience and we may come back if we’re in San Pedro, again. How wonderful to experience so much history all around us, from the light house, the architecture, the Korean Bell and the gun mounts, to Walkers Café. I saw another post on here, regarding racist undertones. I’m a mixed Asian/White. My husband is African-American. We were warmly welcomed and spoken to almost the entire time we were there. My husband actually said, «I love this place.» We didn’t feel unwelcome at all. We were greeted with a smile, was told thank you, and entertained with a nice history lesson. Post Script: From what I’ve heard about the owner, he can be a little bit old-school as far as how he is running his business. ***Note to the owner, I promise you, you’ll have many more customers stay if you accept debit/credit cards. As we sat drinking we saw a few parties(at least 8 people) leave due to cash only, and that was within a half hour time. I can imagine how many locals and tourists are leaving because it’s easier to carry plastic in an entire day. Honestly, if I didn’t find my cash tips in the bottom of my purse, I might not have stayed to experience your cool little café.

I came here because it’s close to where I was at. Very very small place. They use plates you use at home. Looks like a type of place older people come for a beer and chat. I ordered a blt with a side of fries. blt was okay .but the fries??? You think«home made fries… must be good??. Nooooo. these fries are suuuper greasy swimming in a puddle of oil…

Must be a busy rush hour cause the tables were practically empty. If you are visiting the Korean bell or the park… I advise you to pack a lunch than dine here. Sorry I’m not a local. Maybe then I’d have a chance at spending money here. No biggie.

This is a Great Place. But, you have to know what you’re getting into before you show up… I first started coming here back in the 80s when we would ride our Harleys here. This place has not changed much since then. Walker’s is an old-locals and biker hang out. The same people show up here for their morning beer and/or breakfast all the time. And, that’s great !!! Then, they come back for their evening beer and burger. Also great !!! This place is old-school. It is not some clean and trendy café, where you come for a cappuccino. The people who don’t appreciate this place come here expecting something else. Don’t ! The food is true Americana. For breakfast you can get your eggs and bacon. For lunch and dinner you can grab a burger or if you feel like it a PB&J. For drinks, they have coffee, they have beers, they have colas, and probably some tap water. This place is a great piece of local history and step back in time. Recommended !!!
