One other reviewer described this place as a «7−11.» That would be a complement. This place is dirty, small, unkempt, and in a disarray. The people are nice and the menu is small. I ordered the Smoked Turkey and Cheese on a soft roll. They literally slapped together what looks to be 1 slice of ham and 1 slice of bologna — nothing«smoked» about it, with KRAFT sliced cheese. KRAFT!!! The avocado and toasted bread was alright, but still — KRAFT!!! You can get a much more decent $ 7 sandwich somewhere else, I’m sure. Take my advice, and do not go there for the sole purpose of getting a sandwich. If you happen to be on your way to the coast/Lucas Ranch/etc, and you’re about to pass out from low blood sugar or something, then fine, go there if you must. But consider yourself warned.

Very, very dirty. Did not feel comfortable ordering an espresso as the machine looked like it had never been cleaned. Never mind the rest of the place!

I’m sorry folks but this place disgusting … The glass doors to the beverages are so dirty… and the bathroom as well… I believe that there is only one restroom for both patrons and workers at the restaurant. I wonder where they wash their hands after using the restroom because the soap dispenser was bone dry… I have always wanted to try their food but most definately not now…

I live and work in the neighborhood so have been coming here for many years. The hot sandwiches are good. The atmosphere is 7 – 11 crapola. Someone mentioned that they make espresso drinks — since when? The coffee I’ve had from there has been not-so-good and served in styrofoam(which is also used for sandwich containers). The people who work there are not especially friendly but at least they’re better than whoever worked there 10 years ago when a very rude maniac was always behind the counter. I really only get food from there when I’m working and there are no other options. It’s kind of the only act in town so the lack of competition must make for pretty good business. I’d love to see something better in that location.

This is my favorite spot for a five star Philly cheese steak sandwich. The owner is very polite and always out of his way to make sure you are satisfied with his sandwiches. If you are ever in that area make sure you stop by for a sandwich. You’ll be glad you did.

We stopped here for sandwiches on the way to the beach in Bodega Bay. My family had not read the Unilocal reviews, so they were skeptical when we pulled in here even though I forwarned them that it didn’t look like much but the sandwiches were very good. True to my word, the sandwich I got was VERY good. I got the Big Rock Club on sliced wheat and it was delish even after sitting in a bag for a couple of hours.

I really can’t believe how good their hot sandwiches are. Fresh made with fresh tasty ingredients. They have a nice patio in the front to enjoy your food. I have yet to try the pizza but I’m sure thats pretty good too. Grab a sandwich, an ice cold beverage, and a bag of chips and enjoy nature outside.

I’m in Marinwood twice a week. I keep driving by the Big Rock Mini Mart & Deli, never stopping by. My 10 year old tennis student, Will, needed a ride home and lives near by the mini mart. I asked him about the store and he said, «They have the best burgers.» The kid can play tennis pretty well, has wonderful manners, and so we stopped off for a treat. A hole-in-the-wall corner store, in Marin? You’d think in Marinwood, it would at least be in a strip mall. However, BRMM&D is the bomb! A crowded, old. but clean little convenience store with a full-on grill and deli. They are really big and really good. At least a 12 napkin experience. Nothing special about the ingredients, no Niman Ranch ground chuck here, no Acme Bun, but just a good homemade burger. I read another Unilocal that the burgers are made in a pizza oven, so I’m gonna check next week when I have another or the hot pastrami sandwich. The menu is painted and scotch taped on a big piece of plywood and I’m unsure what else they have to offer. Fours stars so far, since I haven’t decided if the CB@BRMM&D is better than Nation’s. Hummmm? I guess I’m lucky I don’t have worse problems.

This is the last stop for food before Skywalker Ranch, 6 windy miles farther down Lucas Valley Road. We stopped here with some trepidation, given the spare assortment of non-perishable foods and modest décor. But the BBQ steak sandwich was dynamite! We enjoyed our sloppy dinner while freezing in the dark in a turn-out down the road.

I first heard about this place through my brother. He was out in Lucas Valley visiting a friend around lunch time. His friend insisted that they go to Big Rock Deli saying that all the locals are in the know about how good this place was. When I went I was told that the burger or the pastrami was the house specialty. I ordered the burger and was not disappointed. The portions are satisfactory and the flavor is great. The roll that the burger came on was fresh and it really added to the experience. I have since been back and tried many of the sandwiches which are also very good.

Fantastic sandwiches both hot and cold, freshly made pizza, espresso drinks, and plenty of snackable items to buy before heading out to the beach. This deli is one of my favorites in Marin County. The owner is very polite and courteous and will always go that extra mile to make sure his customers are happy. Big Rock Deli is only minutes from Highway 101 and is very easy to get to.

Oh yes, a stop that needs to be made. It is on the way out to Rancho Nicasio and Point Reyes. It used to be the place to stop for some super good and always fresh sandwiches. I know they changed owners a couple times over the years, but it will always be there for the last minute food or drink necessities before hitting the beach or a nice drive. I heard they make fresh pizza and deliver in that area now, but don’t hold me to it!
