Let me be clear. This is a very good medical office with 4 – 5 star service provided by the health professionals. However, when I was recently there, one of the front office women was clearly sick, repeatedly coughing loudly in a way that let everyone know she was still infectious. And she was interacting with patients who were checking in or checking out, giving them documents with the same hand she had been repeatedly coughing into. This is entirely inappropriate and unconscious for any business to allow something like this to happen, let alone a medical office where everyone should know better. Within 24 hours, the person I was with who interacted with the sick front office staff member was seriously ill for a week, losing work in the process. Medical offices are supposed to help patients get or stay well, not make them sick. This was a completely avoidable outcome.

I’m a New Englander, where traditional Western Medicine rules. Although biased, I stayed hopeful and open to PMCM helping me with what seemed like chronic fatigue and a possible immune system disorder. Other than acupuncture, the treatments and endless supplements did nothing.
I agree with a reviewer that said the staff was disorganized and distant. On more than one occasion, a more senior front desk staffer was yelling at a junior in front of clients. The medical assistant that takes blood etc., has been aloof and disinterested when she shows up. She’d been out a lot and sometimes the office «forgets» to inform me ahead of time. I have been chased down and hit up for a $ 15 co-​pay that I had paid twice just to get them off my back. It so Not Worth my time arguing for that amount but I fought it the third time. It was getting ridiculous.
The care from multiple doctors and healers did little to get to the root of the cause which ended up being a good old, long standing respiratory infection. A prolonged, protracted holistic régime that costed lots of out-​of-​pocket jing did not help me At All. How could they miss something so simple?
I saw an immunologist in New England and showed her the results of the myriad of tests. She laughed and said, «I hope you didn’t make any changes based on this bunk.»
PMCM is well intentioned but don’t place too much faith in the practitioners.

I drive all the way from the East Bay to see Dr. Hass and Judy Lane. Their combined depth of knowledge and attentiveness to detail is well worth the drive. They are caring practitioners who have positively impacted my health and well being. I love being able to purchase supplements while I’m there and the fact that they take my insurance is awesome. Roma and Julie go above and beyond in every way.

I began taking my children (4 ½ and 7) to Elaine Hannah in February and felt confidence in her care and ability immediately. She relates to my children and is quite remarkable in the way she gets to know their world and how they relate to it. We have seen successful results with the cranial-​sacral work and she is quickly able to diagnose and treat childhood illnesses without being too invasive. Elaine has been interested in completing the whole picture of my children which involves what they eat, how they are at school and how they confront conflict. Holistic medicine at its best, right here in San Rafael!

I too, read the previous reviews with surprise. My experience from the initial phone call to the visit a day and a half later (they offered same day, I was not available) was nothing but perfect! From intake receptionist, to NP and her intern, to Dr. Reece, everyone listened and seemed genuinely interested in helping me. Would recommend.

I read the two previous reviews with surprise. Dr. Rosenbaum has literally been life-​changing for my family and me. I found him back in 2006, when I needed a specific treatment for a skin disease that is related to mercury toxicity. The mainstream docs wouldn’t give me the drug. Maybe they don’t believe that mercury can cause disease; I don’t know. I was reduced to randomly calling doctors’ offices to see who would treat me. Dr. Rosenbaum was already familiar with the drug that I needed and with the destruction that mercury can cause. He followed my progress closely and ordered the appropriate labs to monitor the treatment.
Over the years, I’ve found him to be available, kind, and cutting edge. There are a lot of examples I could give — I’ve now been a patient for 5 years. One example: I remember coming to him with one issue and letting him know that I was being treated by another doc for a different issue. He gently suggested that I come back and see him when I determined that the treatment won’t work — he said that the diagnosis was wrong. He was right.
I brought my daughter to him. I didn’t like the standard treatment that the docs suggest for her issue. Dr. Rosenbaum helped us create a plan that works with supplements and life-​style changes.
The life-​changing thing was about my son. He’d been bitten by a tick. I took him to his doc right away. She wouldn’t treat, saying that there is no Lyme disease around here. Of course, there is, and my boy has it. About a year later, he just didn’t look right to me, so I took him to Dr. Rosenbaum and said that something is wrong, and I don’t know what. Dr. Rosenbaum ran some tests. He found the Lyme because he knew what to look for and which labs to use (not the CDC test, which is worthless). If it weren’t for him, my son would not have been diagnosed, and he would be getting sicker each day. Look at the bullet we dodged.
How many docs can you go to with something as vague as, «Something’s wrong with my kid, and I don’t know what it is,» and be taken seriously?
How many offices can you call and say, «I have a million questions, and I need a long appointment?»
How many times can you get an appointment within a few days or even the next day?
I have found the support staff to be fabulous also — friendly, helpful, and in good humor.

I thought my experience at PMCM would be much more holistic in nature. The office was crowded and the rooms cold. The nurse practitioner that I saw seemed distant, hurried, and really not warm at all. I expect this from an HMO but not an alternative medical clinic. Furthermore I didn’t feel like the staff, esp. the primary Doctor who writes books about fasting and nutrition, model optimal health for themselves. Overall, the vibe in the clinic is scattered and stagnant.
