I work in the area and thought I’d try this place given all the wonderful reviews. Maybe I went on a bad day. I ordered a Turkey Cranberry with a side of potato salad. They were out of salad; ok, it happens, no problem. I got my sandwich expecting great flavors. It was totally one-dimensional. The best part was the crispy, fresh lettuce… and that’s about it. The turkey was super bland, cranberry relish tasted like it was from a can, and the bread taste and texture was like a hoagie that I can buy from a decent supermarket deli. For $ 8.90 I expect way better taste, flavor and value. First and last visit.

I’ve been eating lunch at Rolls a few times a week since July and I felt it was time to give them a review. There are many options for lunch in this area but I usually choose Rolls because 1. They’re consistent, veggies are always crisp and fresh and the sandwiches/salads/soups always made well. 2. Customer Service, the employees all know me by name and treat me like an old friend. 3. Their bread is freshly baked, delicious and not heavy. 4. All of their food has that wonderful«homemade» taste. I recommend trying whatever their soup of the day is because they are all really good! The vegetable beef barley is my favorite, made with large chunks of tender beef and veggies. Eating food that is healthy and fresh is very important to me. I can rely on Rolls Deli to provide that and make it delicious!

My coworker introduced me to this mom and pop deli. After a mix-up due to miscommunication, she felt it was only fair for her to buy me lunch to make up for it. I’m pretty picky about eating at delis and this is one of her favorites. I wasn’t sure what to order so we split a full sandwich in half. The only item I’ve tried from their menu thus far is the turkey avocado sandwich, which comes on a cheese roll with lettuce, tomato and mayo. They charge $ 9 for the full and $ 5.50 for the half portion. While it is very simple, the flavors work really well together and they are generous with the avocado. Their employees are so incredibly kind and always providing service with a smile. They get packed every afternoon since it’s located within the vicinity of a few business parks. I suggest phoning in your order so you can skip the line and pay at the pick-up counter.

The food: hot pastrami sandwhich. Thank you Unilocalers of san ramon! Ive found my go to deli place especially for a nice, fresh and large pastrami sandwhich. I use to have to drive all the way to walnut creek at morrucis for a great pastrami but this little gem right in my backyard will do just fine. Excited to come back soon, hopefully i will be earlier to get some soup next time and try the carrot cake.

Love, love, love Rolls! My company orders lunch out from Rolls from time to time, and we’re always happy! It’s really nice they offer a side with your sandwich, we typically get a mixture of chips and fruit. I love their spinach salad. I order it with grilled chicken on top and it’s fantastic. So filling and somewhat healthy(I don’t eat the cheese or all the bacon!). Their dressing is fresh and so good! You can tell they use fresh ingredients and make everything to order. Give it a try!

OMG. I found a gem! I don’t know how I haven’t been to this place before. I’ve been living and working here in San Ramon forever. I just ate(literally 5 seconds ago) a turkey & avocado sandwich on a french roll with a side of potato salad and it was marvelous. The bread was incredibly fresh and the potato salad was scrumptious! The staff was incredibly friendly and personable and we were in an out(for a to go order that we ordered and waited for there) in less than ten minutes when there was line. This place is officially my go-to lunch sandwich place!

I’ve been coming here for almost 3 ½ yrs. It’s my go-to place after my workout next door. The staff are always super friendly, they know«your usual» order, and I enjoy my conversations with Pat. My favorites: –Turkey Avocado(hold the mayo) –½ Cobb Salad(everything is hand cut, bacon crispy, avocado always ripe and fresh, smooth like butter) –Wednesday –Chicken Noodle Soup –If I’m craving eggs, Egg Salad Sandwich. It’s made to order and I’ve seen them dicing eggs. Every so often I splurge. Their carrot cake is pretty amazing for a deli. I think it’s Pat own recipe. When my daughter is with me, she loves their selection of self serve drinks. Orangina is her fav!

Still love this place!!! The chicken salad sandwich can’t be beat. The house made rolls are fabulous! The salads are huge, fresh and delicious too. The split pea soup is also good. You just can’t go wrong here.

Classic example of why you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. No frills deli with simple menu but the food doesn’t disappoint. Fresh ingredients that I prefer over Panera. Half size is plenty for a single serving. It’s tucked in the back of the plaza and easy to miss if you aren’t looking for it. Support small biz and eat at Rolls!

My go to place for a classic fresh sandwich! Family owned with much pride on what they serve. The ambiance is old skool, but the food makes up for it 10 fold.

In the 7.5 years I’ve worked in the Danville/San Ramon area, I’ve probably eaten lunch here the most. Are these the best sandwiches I’ve ever had? No, of course not. Buuuut, I love supporting local businesses. The customer service has always been great and the food is consistently tasty and satisfying. My go-to pick is the half chicken club sandwich half caesar salad combo. The ingredients are always fresh and the portions are large. Getting lunch in this area is pricey, but I feel like this is a good deal. When I’m observing Lent, I branch out and have the veggie sandwich with the hummus — I don’t even miss the meat because it’s very flavorful. I also like the turkey avocado or italian sandwiches. I’ve also tried the quiche and the soups and have enjoyed those as well. Last but not least, the sweet treats are SOGOOD. I couldn’t resist and had to buy a cookie today. The brownies and lemon bars are delicious too. Again, I wouldn’t say the food here is mind blowing, or anything to contact the Food Network about, but the homey atmosphere, the amazing smell of fresh sandwiches, and the great staff are why I keep coming back.

The bbq chicken salad is my favorite. The fresh warm bread on the side is a plus. Beware, the full size is easily enough for two! They don’t skimp on the portions here.

«Rolling with the Homies”-fun bit from the movie«Clueless» but since a few of my Unilocal«friends» have eaten here, I figured we would give it a try. I «rolled» in with my husband in tow who was reluctant to try a new place but went along with it. The restaurant itself is small and the menu is posted on the board or on a blue paper menu for those who have a hard time reading. They make the bread(rolls) fresh daily, they only have sliced wheat bread(house made as well) so no Jewish rye fix here. They have a hot pastrami offering but indeed it is made hot in the microwave as I assume any of their«hot» meat fillings are. The staff is super friendly and they gave a generous portion of avocado with the sandwich I ordered. Overall, our sandwiches were«okay» but I have a hard time going to a «deli» where you can’t see any of the ingredients. I am glad we tried it, though I am doubtful we will ever go back.

Mmmmmm, Mmmmmm this is a tasty sandwich shop. The bread on my Turkey Avocado was the best fresh roll I have had out in a long time. What is that bread? I don’t even know if they make it fresh here? Where ever they get it from, don’t stop! I came later in the lunch hour, around 1:30pm. Most of the tables were full. The dinning room is rather cramped. There is outdoor seating available. It was a sunny day on a week full of rain forcasted. So sitting outside was nice. They were very fast and it was very clean inside. I absolutely loved my sandwich. It was a great lunch time treat.
