Site for Sore Eyes

I have purchased several pairs of glasses from this Site for Sore Eyes, and I will never go anyplace else! Nancy helped us today. The rest of the staff is fantastic as well. I love their selection of glasses and today we found out about a new technology that helps with migraine headaches and light sensitivity! It is a brand new technology. Their selection of frames is amazing and they aren’t old frames and out of style frames like you find at some other eyewear stores.

I just purchased my 5^th pair of glasses here. This time I ordered a pair of prescription Rayban wayfarer sunglasses. Very pleased with them. The people that work here Chris the manager are all very client focused. It is a pleasure to recommend this store. Always honest and fair treatment.

They are so lame…
they said that they are going to get ready for my eye glasses but It took 9 days after 2 times of delay.

Me and my wife went there to get eye exams and glasses. The doctor was very nice and patient, he answered all of our questions in details. As soon as the exam was done Nancy and Chris helped us selecting the right frames that perfectly match our expectations and our budget. Great store and great people!

I would give this place a minus review if I could. First off, Chris is the most shady guy I have ever met. I went in to replace my lens. Just my lens. He took the order and filled the order. he asked for my insurance details and called them and verified the info. He told me he was in my network and did the paperwork.
I picked up my glasses and said thank you and left.
A month or so later I checked with my insurance and it turns out that he put in a claim for contacts which is a higher $ value.
I called and asked what this was, he sheepishly said «wasn’t it contact» oops sorry let me fix this.
So I checked with my insurance a few weeks later and he made the change but now he claimed lens and frame.
So I called and asked what was going and he said that it was frame and lens and I told him it was just lens. He told me I could come in and pick out a frame. I don’t need or want a frame. I asked him to cancel the transaction and that I would return the lens. He told me he would give me store credit!!!
I called my insurance and told them that this was fraud and that I did not get frames. They called him and asked and after a few calls (the balls on this guy to deny that it was frame and lens) only to retract later to say…“ohhh yeah it was just lenses”. WHAT!!!
I spoke to them and they told me that they would cancel the transaction and that this would be null and void. This was a month ago. Checked with insurance and they still haven’t received the refund check. I’ll let my insurance work this out but I can’t get new lenses until this is resolved.
On top of that… I found out that he was OUT OF NETWORK!!!
I didn’t see the optometrist so this is strictly wrt the store owner — Chris and his shenanigans.

I usually don’t compliment local businesses since I believe it’s a must these days to serve customers with high quality products as well as the best customer experience ever specially in a market where completions are getting tougher and customer expectations are getting even higher, But I thought it would be beneficial for others if I share my excellent experience with San Ramon Site for sore eyes.
Let me set the stage, last year I used my eyemed insurance to get my first eye exam + frame + lens at a different place back in Northern Virginia and I ended up paying $ 800 (on top of my eyemed insurance).
When I moved to the sunny California I decided to explore my options of replacing my glasses and get a prescription sunglasses too. I picked this site for sore eyes for the excellent variety of brands and styles of the frames.
My pleasant surprise came when the doctor told me that I do not have to use my eyeglasses as often as I do, since I get head aches. And it worked and I less dependent on the glasses now.
The owner was very helpful and went through the details of my insurance and the coverage. The employees were very patient while I choose both glasses as well as made sure that My glasses and prescription sunglasses arrived on time.
I highly recommend This Site for sore eyes store if you want to use the maximum out of your insurance and get the latest styles with the best customer experience ever.
Like I said, it’s already a competitive marketing but this store does a very good job to outstand the crowd.

I am so pleased I tried this Site for Sore Eyes location. The Optometrist was fabulous. he truly went the extra step to insure my quality of eyesight. I can now see quite well. I am very pleased with Nancy and the staff. Nancy adjusted all of my Site for Sore Eyes glasses to a perfect fit. My eyes are very tough, with a high negative prescription and a stigmatism. Their courteous, friendly service has solidified me as a customer going forward.
My daughter’s eye exam and glasses came out perfectly as well.
Service is exemplary. Definitely the business to frequest for our eye needs.

I really like this place. I have been coming here for a year now and have had a couple of exams. Both times I have purchased frames. They have a great selection of frames. This last time I came the sunglasses are what I was interested in. I came in to make an appointment only and was sold on a pair of sunglasses before the appointment was made. Marysol is who helped me. She had great sales and customer service skills. As she was looking me up I started looking at the sunglasses, which is what I was interested in. She got up and took out of the display all the frames I asked to see. She was not pushy at all. She wasn’t trying to sell the most expensive or anything annoying like that. She took out what I liked. I ended up with some beautiful frames, and I told her these were it. She proceeded to make my appointment, which the next available one was 2 days later. Worked out great
Came in to my appointment, the optometrist was awesome. I had never had an optometrist truly explain the process of the exam, and I have been wearing glasses for 15 years. He also let me test drive some contacts, which now I am highly considering for the future.
After the exam my mind was set on the frames I had chosen. To my surprise Marysol had put them on hold for me. She mentioned another customer was interested but told them that they were on hold for me, which was awesome. Definitely sticking with this place.

Went in yesterday for my eye exam and to get fitted for new glasses. Dr. Banh was excellent, explained every aspect of the exam to me clearly, as he could tell I was curious. The exam was thorough and the prescription seemed to work really well in the exam room. He also let me try on some contacts, although it was a slim chance that would work for me because of my severe astigmatism. Once the exam was over, Chris and Nancy up front spent a lot of time helping me find the right frames for me and gave me a great price for my new glasses. Highly recommended!

Have been visiting this location for a few years and before that another one in SF. There is a new optometrist here who is even better than the last one (who was also superb). They take their time to get the perfect prescription and explain everything along the way. The store is happy to work with you to ensure your vision insurance is fully utilized. The prices for filling a prescription are hard to beat, though they don’t appear to stock the more cutting edge designer frames. The contacts prices are good though I can usually save a few bucks elsewhere.

I have purchased both my eye glasses and prescription sunglasses from Site for Sore Eyes. Everyone is courteous, friendly, efficient and very helpful. The selection of frames is good and they often offer discounts. My second pair was greatly discounted. The staff are always conscientious and they greet you right when you come in, offering water and a smile. Recently, my non-​prescription sunglasses broke and even though I didn’t purchase these at their store, they were happy to fix them for a very nominal fee. Any time I need an adjustment if my glasses are getting loose or need a «tune up» they are happy to oblige. Great experiences overall!

Went here for new glasses only and worked with Shirley. She is fantastic and gives great feedback about the frames, lenses, etc.
Pros: Very clean, good service, very friendly staff, good selection of frames (designer and non designer), easy to find, lots of parking
Cons: Groupon deal is not as great as it sounds, there are some savings but nothing crazy
Even though they are a chain, the San Ramon location is a good place to go. Ask for Shirley!

I have to agree with the poor service at this place as well. Not by the eye doctors but by the owners. They are obviously pushing eyeware vs contact lenses.
I called to get an eye exam and was told by some woman (heavy arabic accent) that I wanted a eye exam for contact lenses as I primarily wear contact lenses. She said that the exam would be for eye glasses primarily and then they do another exam for contact lenses? WTF? My prescription is the same for contact lenses or eyeglasses. What crack is this woman smoking?
Then she asked for my contact info, ie my phone. I gave her my cell phone and she asked me twice if I had Verizon as my carrier. What in Hades name does she need to know if my cell phone carrier is Verizon? What type of scam is this? What, if my number is incorrect are they going to call Verizon? This has got to be some sort of inappropriate sales push but I dont think Im going to find out.
Last time I was there, a pushy sales rep was trying to get me to select glasses. I decided not to buy from these guys. I agree. They are standoffish until they want to sucker you in to a sale.
I got royally ripped last year when they convinced me to buy a year of contact lenses to get a cheap pair of sunglasses. What the heck was I thinking???
Its a shame as I did like their eye doctor.

The ladies on the sales floor are simply unprofessional and Rude! They seem to get a kick out of ignoring clients. I was not the only one in this store to receive such treatment.

I’m looking for a new pair of glasses, so we decided to stop in to Site for Sore Eyes in The Plaza at Gale Ranch to look at frames. The people who work there made a bad first impression.
There were two people behind the counter when we walked in, a man and a woman. The woman was on the phone, although she wasn’t talking much, and the man was absorbed in a clerical task. Neither one of them greeted us, in fact, they didn’t even look up or make eye contact. We browsed around and had some fun trying on different glasses, assuming the person who’s job it was to meet and greet customers was in back.
A third person, a younger woman, came out from the back after a few minutes and got involved in a discussion with the other two about (I assume) their work. But none of the three said a word to us or even looked up.
I suppose I could have simply said «excuse me, but can I get some help?» but they didn’t seem want to help me, I felt like they didn’t even want us to be there. So we left. Very strange experience.

LAME! Don’t use the Groupon. Not worth it and it’s misleading.
Tonight I went there to use my groupon for $ 150 frame, get one free. sounds like a good deal. Not the case. Well it is, if you want to select from 25 ugly frames for $ 100 and get $ 50 of the lense. Super misleading.
Plus, The ladies that work there never greeted us, barely made eye contact and had poor communication skills. I felt like I was talking to a school girl in third grade who looks down on the ground while telling you a story.
Made me realize going to my real eye doctor was worth every penny.

I’m blinder than a bat without my prescribed eyes; all my doctors always reminded me of my horrible horrible astigmatism. One even told me that it was probably because I was pulled out of my mother’s womb wrong =/
Well not the doctors here. They’re very professional and polite and are very helpful in evaluating the best options for you (esp when you have crap eyes like mine). Even when I moved out of the Bay Area, they were very willing to forward my prescription and information to my new doctor without fees or hassle.
