They had good reviews on Trivago. I called to find out about a room and the phone rang for some time. Someone answered and asked if I could hold. I waited for some time but no one came back so I went with a different motel.

Was looking for a clean place to stay under $ 100 for a night. I’m relocating to the area and my housing situation is… neither here nor there. The gentleman at the front desk was friendly enough but I could tell he’d rather be elsewhere. He offered me a room for $ 79 + tax which I guess is a deal considering the proximity from the acclaimed Cedar Point. Seeing as I literally had nowhere else to go I went with it even though it looked to be a bit run down from the outside. The inside, however, was another story. Upon entering I were very surprised at how clean and modern it looked. The room wasn’t too shabby either. No signs of mold, no stains on the bedding, the bathroom even has a nice looking faux granite countertop and shower wall. I was told there would be comp breakfast in the morning starting at 6 so I’ll have to check that out and come back to Unilocal and leave a tip regarding that. Overall I’m pleased with my decision to stay here and would probably stay here again if I needed to.

Pros: Close to Cedar Point. Allows pets at no extra charge. Cons: Building that allows pets is old, dirty, run-down. Entire property smells like propane or some type of gasoline. Key would only work in outdoor building doors half the time. Price is expensive($ 183/night) for such an old hotel. No elevators. Hot breakfast was a joke. Bottom Line: Only stay here if you have pets and have no other choice.

The room was nice, as was the pool which included towel service. The staff was very accommodating. It took awhile to get to sleep, though, because of the noise from other guests. The breakfast was disappointing: waffles, donuts, toast, green bananas, you get it.

If you want to stay at a hotel near Cedar Point, but don’t want to stay at the overpriced and dingy location properties, consider staying at La Quinta. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here for our vacation this summer, and it was only a 10 minute drive from the park. Check-in and check-out was easy, the rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. You can’t really ask for much more than that! However, you also get a nice complimentary breakfast, including waffle maker, hash browns, sausage, assortment of doughnuts, bagels, toast, yogurt, fruit, juice, coffee, etc. There is also free parking, and the main stretch of road where this hotel is situated has lots of dining and shopping options, including nice local restaurants and very common chains.

We stayed in the Sandusky La Quinta during the off-season in the course of cross-country move and were very glad with our choice. Very affordable, simple but attractive rooms with all the necessities, pleasantly quiet and very clean. Its proximity to a wide range of restaurants was nice too — having the choice of some food after a full day of packed-car driving was great(opted for the nearby Mekong Vietnamese restaurant which I can wholeheartedly recommend too!). Having to tote our cat around on the multi-day move, it was great to have a cat-friendly hotel to stay at as well. One downside to note: there was a lingering sulfur smell in the hotel area(stronger outside, but some noticeable in the hallways) early in the evening. The woman working the front desk told us it was the nearby quarry, and it did dissipate fairly quickly(over about a half hour). Not sure if the quarry keeps the blasting/smell at bay during more popular times of the year, but good to know it’s not something more insidious.

This place is hard to review. The pros: very close to the park. Cheap-ish. The hotel management did not care at all about us yelling, swimming, running, drinking, carrying on at the pool or in the halls. That was a plus as we were there for a wedding. The cons: not the nicest. Not the cleanest. The outside doors to the hotel are broke so anyone can get in. Rooms are small. Air units loud as hell. No elevator.

Visiting Cedar Point for a few days and decided to try this hotel out. Not bad for $ 104 a night during peak season. The rooms have been upgraded to a more modern style with new carpet and bed linens. The pool is open until 1am and it is heated. Comp breakfast in the morning with the basics is a plus. Pro– price, not heavily traveled, clean rooms and away from the busy cedar point traffic. Con– No restaurant, no indoor water attractions, no roll. away bed option for a guest.

This place is not maintained well and the ac does not work well in the rooms. It does not cool the whole suite. The pull out bed is very uncomfortable as hell. And the maid left a bowl of cereal on the counter that my son did not eat. We did not put in the trash because they don’t use any trash bags. And they left other trash behind to. Price was good but they could do better.

Great experience here. Paid about $ 98 for a room for 4 and stayed here after spending the day at Cedar Point. Fantastic hotel. Extremely clean, the beds were comfortable and had clean duvets. The service at the front desk was excellent, friendly and helpful. Will never again pay to stay on-site at Cedar Point after finding this getm.

Free WiFi. Free parking. 5 – 10 minutes from Cedar Point Park. Service was great. Did not make it to breakfast, therefore I do not know the quality of the food. The room was clean. The showerhead on the other hand was too low. My poor 5’10″ husband was hunched over to stay under the shower. Overall the bathroom was cramped, but clean. Only problem we had was the showerhead. I would stay here again if I’m in the area. Very convenience to restaurants.

I’m a pretty regular traveller to the Sandusky area, so I’ve been in a lot of hotels in the area. And for a long time I was convinced there were no good options for places to stay. I’ve seen some really gross places. But finally we happened upon La Quinta. This place is really fantastic. Very clean rooms and friendly staff. Not to mention good location right on 250. I will definitely be staying here again.

We stay at La Quinta because of their pet-friendly policies(and by «pet-friendly» I mean not charging a non-refundable fee for the«privelege» of taking our pets along with us… good for them… they’ll get all my business) This La Quinta is an older property. Be aware that it is WAY off of the 80⁄90 freeway. Positives: Updated rooms, clean linens, spacious bathroom. Lots of restaurants and amusement park entertainment in the area. Negatives: Loud A/C unit that has not been cleaned in a long while. Our room was in another building behind the main one. Our view was the side of the pool house with a generator that kept going off and on all night. You have to walk to the main building for«breakfast» which is minimal: donuts and mystery meat sausage patties… most La Quintas do it better.
