Excellent restaurant, we have been here before and it was very good but this time I may have ranked it as the best Indian food that I can remember having, there was a noticeable difference. There is a new owner and he was very attentive, extremely friendly and we wish him success his new venture. Tika Masala and Coconut Korma was divine, also had some Indian spring rolls that were great. Please come try this place.

Oh my god!!! I’ve eaten here a few times in the last 5 years, never disappointing, but they have recently updated everything and it is AMAZING! They have added new menu items, and I think a new name… «Wah India»? The booths are all new and comfy. The place looks immaculately clean. I got the mango chicken curry, my husband got the chicken korma and keema naan. We added a side of mango pickle to give a little zest to each dish. So delicious! I can’t wait to eat there again. This is exactly what I think of when I need some comforting Indian food. Everything tastes freshly prepared, we met the chef– he seemed to take great pride in his dishes.

Our family loves going to this restaurant. The food is great and the prices fair. The service is good and can be slow sometimes. The family that runs the restaurant are always nice and helpful with any request. If you want good Indian food than give this place a try, you will not be disappointed.

Excellent restaurant which never seems busy. This restaurant deserves much more attention. Their service can be a little slow but that doesn’t matter to much unless you are going on your lunch break. First impressions, it can be a little awkward when you walk in and no one is there, the owners strength isn’t so much in service. He has excellent suggestions though if you don’t eat a lot of Indian food. Presentation, they bring the meal out in separate dishes so it’s perfect for sharing especially with naan. The food, I have tried a few things and have been pleased every time. My favorite so far has got to be the butter chicken however. It is absolutely incredible. I would recommend the butter naan as well. It’s not as buttery as it sounds. It has more of a gi thing going on for it which is incredible. Price is fair and seems like they could charge more. Excellent date destination or if you are just looking for something new or different. Don’t let Indian food scare you off, there is something here or everyone, that means you vegans!

Great food, great service. Just make sure you come before they close the buffet as the food tends to get stale and not so good.

This newly remodeled restaurant is wonderful. We had the Lamb Saag and the Butter chicken along with of course a mango lassi. We loved both dishes and couldn’t decide which one we liked best. The server was attentive. We had a great dinning experience.

Love the lunch buffet with its included drinks – their mango lassi is one of the best in the valley!

This is one of the best Indian restaurants I have ever been to. Once you walk in, there is a really strong smell of curry. But that is to be expected. The wait staff are really nice and the food is even nicer. You can’t go wrong with anything. My favorite is their naan. Their naan is way better than anywhere else’s. It is not doughy or overlooked, unlike pretty much every other place I have been to. The price is actually pretty much in line with other Indian restaurants, if not 1 or 2 dollars cheaper. The only drawback of this place is the décor, which is just plain horrible. I guess some of you might like that, though.

We came here for the lunch Buffett. The price is $ 9.99 and includes a drink!!! It’s a good value and their food is very flavorful. Great recipes! They ask if you want garlic or plain naan. We chose the garlic naan and it was the best we have had in a long while. I noticed a sign saying they were closed for the buffet on Wednesday so I would call ahead if you are eating on that day to make sure. We are definitely coming back.

Taste of Punjab has lost some of their touch I feel. I have now been there twice this year, and it isn’t what it was three years ago. The quantity varies based on who’s serving. And I have to order medium hot on their scale in order to feel even a little bit of the spice. They can do better, and they know it. It’s still a great meeting place for friends.

I tried the lamb vindaloo and vegetable samosas. Had a to go order and the waitress wasn’t very friendly despite the lack of customers. The samosas were pretty good but the vindaloo had so much acidity and not very much meat or flavor. Couldn’t finish it and I’m not picky, but could already feel heartburn coming on. Probably would not return unless I was already in the area and would give a different dish a try.

Food is actually quite decent, but the service was painfully slow. It took an hour to get three main dishes and over 15 minutes to split our check after dinner for a party of four. All in all, dinner took 2 hours! And we were just one of two small tables in there. I’ll stick to Bombay House.

2nd only to Bombay house in SLC, service speed can be hit or miss but food quality makes up for it. My backup when I’m too lazy to wait/Drive and never disappointed. Great lunch buffet if your in the area Mon-Fri.

I love this place. My husband and I both feel it’s a real magical treat to get to come eat their food. We get garlic naan, vegetable pakora, unreal butter chicken, chicken coconut korma, and chicken tikka saag. They are all so silky and the flavors are so good. I don’t think people use«authentic» correctly. There are different regions of India and things will taste a little different in each one. It is our very favorite Indian restaurant in Salt Lake and Utah counties. We have been coming here for 7+ years and love the family that runs it because we love the cooking.

The buffet is great at a great price! They change the selection throughout the week but some staples stay the same. Naan and drinks come with the price of the buffet.

I like this place. The food is consistently good. I like that they serve fresh naan and include a lassi drink in the price of the Lunch Buffett. I would frequent the Buffett more often if they offered more variety or branched out some from the very typical offerings that are served.

I have tried the Lunch Buffet(Vegetarian) here and I bet you can get better food right here in Salt Lake. The food did not taste like the authentic Punjabi restaurant would. The Buffet was not labeled properly distinguishing between various options they had to offer. The ‘Nan’(breads) offered were more like thin crust pizza breads which I would have probably preferred as a pizza base than with my Indian food. Having said that, I heard from my friends that the non-vegetarian options seems decent in taste and they like it. I liked the ambiance and dining area though which was spacious.

I like that their curry can get really hot. They’ll add habernero Good lassi Other than that. You want to be prepare for slow service and bad service. I mean slow. There’s 5 people here and they are all just hanging out. It took them over an hour to bring out the food. The crazy thing is we were the ONLY table . They always get my order wrong -.- There curry tend to be sweet, won’t come back

Pathetic service and bad food… I ordered paneer masala, garlic naan, chicken tikka masala(tandoor) and mango lassi. And i must say none of it was good and tasted like it was all cooked in hurry. We somehow managed with paneer masala but the the raw chicken… It was unbearable so we asked the women there to cook it more as it is not cooked properly. She came back with my chicken in not more than 5 min and it was still the same. We decided not to eat that and asked her that we dont want it still at the end she came up with the check with chicken tikka included and when my wife asked that do we have to pay for what we didn’t even eat… She said yes… What a joke it was… If there is any negative star i want to give it to them… Bad bad bad…

Every time my boyfriend and I come back to Taste of Punjab, it tastes better and better. Just when you think you’ve had the best Indian food ever… It gets better! It’s a family owned restaurant but you can tell by the taste of their dishes they take pride in there work! We’ve tried most of the dishes & are yet to have one we don’t like. We always come here when we need our Indian«fix». Prices are comparable to most Indian places. Try the peshwari naan! It’s amazing, almost like desert! Only downside… The service can be slow at times… But hey we’re here for the food!
