If you are looking for a Mom n Pop hole in the wall diner… Look no further… As soon as you walk inside… You feel the love that comes with a family owned diner. They were BUSYBUSYBUSY from the moment my best friend and I arrived until we left. The staff was very friendly and we met some nice people int the table behind us and you really feel right at home. If you are looking for an upscale dining experience, you are in the wrong place. The dining area is simple, sparsely decorated and clean. But I will warn you now… When they are busy, expect a wait for your food BUT the staff keeps those coffee cups full. Our cups never ran dry and our server had her track shoes on… My friend ordered a Mexican Cheese Omelet with Hash Browns and I ordered the Hungry Man Breakfast with a side of Hash. We both asked for a biscuit and I opted for the Home Fries and my eggs over easy… The Hungry Man comes with Bacon, Ham and Sausage… I would love to say I tried my friends omelet BUT I Jalapenos don’t agree with me however he LOVED his omelet. The hash browns could have been a wee bit more crispy in his opinion. The Hungry Man was a hearty breakfast… 3 strips of bacon, 2 sausage patties and a piece of ham. My only complaint with the ham was that it was basically a slice of boiled ham that was cooked but it did have a nice flavor. The sausage and bacon we good. My eggs were perfectly cooked and the home fries were great. The star was that biscuit… Definitely from scratch and very good and I was given REAL butter for my biscuit. Service — 5 Atmosphere — 5 Coffee — 3(It was fresh but bear in mind I am a bit of a coffee snob) Omelet — 5(According to my friend) Hash Browns — 3(Ordered extra crispy and they were not extra crispy) Biscuit — 5 Home Fries — 5 Eggs — 5 Bacon — 4 Sausage — 5 Ham — 3(Really just a slice of cooked boiled ham lunch meat) Hash — 4 The prices are cheap cheap cheap and the place is busy. The food is good but again you are in a mom n pop diner and not a 5 star restaurant… Keep that in mind along with your expectations… The big question is… Would I come back and the answer is DEFINITELY…

Went for breakfast last saturday with my daughter and son in law while visiting the area from Virginia. They allow customers to seat themselves, which resulted in having 2 people occupying a table that could easily accommodate 6 – 8 customers, while the 2 seat tables were empty. So we had to wait for someone to leave before we could be seated, although there was empty stools at the counter, it wasn’t feasible since we also had a 16 month old with us. I should also mention that when we arrived, the 2 people at the largest table had already completed their meal and just appeared to be talking. I’m not implying that they should have been asked to leave, but if the waitress had presented them with the bill they might have gotten the message. After basically standing around for 10 minutes, a table became available. The waitress came over immediately and took our order. My son in law and I both ordered the breakfast special-2 eggs, a slice of bacon, 1 sausage link, 1 sausage patty, grits or home fries and a large homemade biscuit for the incredibly low price of $ 3.99,plus we both ordered coffee and my daughter, who wasn’t hungry, ordered a juice, which never arrived and we just chalked it up to the waitress not hearing her. Our total tab came to a whopping $ 10 and some change. Everything was hot, plentiful and delicious. My daughter and I actually shared mines since it was more than I could eat. If you’re in the area, give them a try, just be warned that they are very busy most mornings and closed everyday at 2:30 pm.

My fiancé and I were on our way to the sanford art festival but wanted to eat breakfast first. I read that this place looks deceiving on the outside but don’t let that distract you from the amazing food and quick and good service. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. Seating is limited but there is seating at the bar. We got omelets and the serving size is great. We were so full. The home fries were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Please give this place a try. You will not get disappointed.

Hole in a wall breakfast place– HUGE portions, decent diner style breakfast selection, and super affordable. Service was really really slow the day I went, and it took a lot longer than expected. The home fries were nice and crispy, the biscuit was huge and fluffy. I got a steak and cheese omelet, which was okay.

Cheap cheap cheap. Very cheap. Cheap as in my decently sized cheese omelet with home fries and toast and coffee was only $ 4.95. The only thing about this place is that it absolutely a hole-in-the-wall and compared to the place I went to across the street, leaps and bounds better. Service was good. Maybe the food took a bit to be cooked by I arrived just at the beginning of a bit of a rush or regulars. Yep, people who sit in the same booth and the waitress asks, «Your regular today, Mister Smith?» H&M, oh yes.

FANTASTIC food and wonderful, helpful service. Definitely my favorite Sanford diner-style breakfast. I tried the chicken omelet on my server’s recommendation and it was outstanding. Home fries are potatoes only, but perfectly cooked and very tasty. Homemade biscuits are fluffy and delicious, and the gravy is very good.

Want a hole in the wall restaurant? You’ve found it! Good food at a cheap price!!! I love the chicken fried steak as well as the biscuits and gravy! My partner and I will keep going here, plus it supports a local business.

Like a phoenix rising from the flames… and an ode to pork chops. You see, there was a fire at H&M waaay back in October 2012(read about that here, if you so desire ) and they’ve just re-opened(praise your favorite deity) a couple weeks ago. So, I was without my absolute favorite breakfast joint in the entire world for about 7 months. Seven months, people! I know, I know. I was inconsolable. It’s a small, clean, family-run place that serves delicious, woefully under-priced diner food. They do a huge take out business, have breakfast specials daily until 11am, staff is efficient and cordial, their parking lot is rocks and dirt, it’s tiny inside, but their brekkie is lovely. I always get the same thing. Every time. And I hate it when people do that. Scrambled eggs(you get two), rye toast(two slices, and it’s always too under-toasted), home fries(usually over-cooked, but I like that), and two breaded, fried pork chops. You can opt to get just one pork chop, just like you can opt to have the pork chop grilled(meaning on the flat top-no grill marks), but I’ve had that once and preferred the crunchy, juicy, slightly greasy fried version, myself. Add a slight sprinkle of salt and perfection. No, I can’t eat both chops at one sitting, but the price is so damn cheap(less than $ 7), that I cannot justify NOT getting two so I can have one to make a PCS(pork chop sandwich-duh) later. I’m just so happy they’ve re-opened so I could finally Unilocal all about it! =)
