I’ve never been much of a «barber» guy, I simply went to any hairsalon place, got a 6 on top 2 on the sides. Simple. $ 10 and 20 – 40 minutes later I’m out. Go home and call it quits. But recently I started looking to change up my hair a bit, and decided I’d try different locations, products, and styles. I asked around and«El Catrin» kept popping up, so I decided to check it out. The wait was long about an hour and 10 minutes and I closely watched as Capri(I think that’s how u spell it) cut the hair of people in front of me and I loved it. She’s super cool, and friendly. I said«I want something like this.» and she delivered. I loved the ambiance, it’s a mellow setting, and all the barbers seem to get along. I read reviews of people saying they were unprofessional because they would talk to each other, and I totally disagree last thing I want is a robot monotone person cutting my hair. First time experiencing a warm towel shave. I’m totally hooked. I’ll definately be coming back, and referring people here!

Wait time wasn’t terrible but still frustrating to watch the barbers move at a glacial speed. And they had an incredibly inappropriate movie blaring the whole time. So incredibly uncomfortable and unprofessional. Their sign says you have to take phone calls outside, but yet they can blare a sexually-explicit movie? Ridiculous.

I understand it was the weekend at 11am when I went, but the wait time was horrendous. An hour and a half and a barber magically appeared from the upstairs quarters. What the heck was he doing the entire time 11 people were waiting? It didn’t help that between clients, barbers would text, bullshit with each other, and twiddle their thumbs. The haircut was definitely not worth the price or the wait time. I’m a local and it makes me want to continue boycotting all the local barbershops

V disappointed by wait time and efficiency of barbers. Barbers were more interested in having movies on then killing the wait time. Was asked to pay for a hard part at an additional $ 5. I declined and the barber still charged me extra. Nice guys just bad business.

Went to get a haircut and the wait was for an hour. I ended up leaving after 3 hours waiting and there were still 2 people ahead of me. Everyone was distracted by watching the movie and talking amongst each other how funny it was. I know when Exit is there everyone is hustling but not this time since he wasn’t there.

Best barber shop in OC, always do a great job and take you back in time with their customer service and attention to detail. They always take their time and make sure you always leave happy. Took my dad who’s in his 70s there today and he told me he hadn’t gotten a hair cut like that in 35 years so that’s got to tell you something about their authenticity and old school way of thinking.

Came early and there were 6 barbers there all horsing around talking about the previous night, not professional at all because only one barber was actually cutting, if you don’t know anyone there do not go! You will just be another number,

Awesome barber shop. I was in town for business and needed a cut asap. I went in on a late Friday morning. All chairs were full with only a couple customers ahead of me. Only bad thing is the parking. Only pay-for-parking spots around the shop. There may be free parking somewhere but I’m not familiar with the area. All barbers are professional and their attention to detail is amazing. Definitely my go-to when I’m in town.

Clean cuts, great atmosphere, always do a great job. These guys really care about the work they do. Do not go to anyone in particular, as they all do an exceptional job. Been coming here for a couple years, definitely my go to shop when I need a cut. The wait can be a bit long, but definitely well worth it. Anyone who complains about it need to realize there is a wait because of the quality of work. Bring a book, take a nap, do something…

I’m from up north and came down south to visit family, I didn’t have time to get a haircut with my barber so I decided to Get my hair cut over here. I started to look at reviews and decided to choose this and when I went the barber pointed out what my barber was doing wrong so he fixed my undercut and evened out my hair I don’t know his name but he has a American barber tattoo on his neck. He did a fantastic job. wish I had him as a barber in my hometown. So I plan on getting my haircut every time I come down to visit, thanks bud if you’re reading this

Decided to give this place a try and damn I am happy I did. I am very picky about barbers having just a few I trust in my lifetime. Been sporting High and Tight past 20 plus years, but wanted to go back to having something to comb on top. Back to the shop read the reviews and came on in at opening. I had Capri and she just did a hell of a job trimming that awkward part of growing out hair(Mon-Chi-Chi) stage and shaving the shell. Looks like I have my barber as long as I live down here in the OC. Can’t wait to comeback.

Overdue review: I’ve been getting my hair cut here for roughly a year now and each time I am impressed and satisfied. They cut exactly as you say and pay very close attention to detail, especially Ron. It’s totally worth the wait.

This review is way overdue. I have been getting my haircut here off and on for 4 years now. The barbers here are SUPERCOOL and Exit the owner makes you feel right at home. One Saturday morning I went for my bi-weekly haircut and Exit treated his customers to some doughnuts(that was super cool Exit!). And of course, these dudes get DOWN with there fades. Cons: The only problem some people have is with the long wait. But no worries my friends, there are always good movies playing on the TV and your haircut is going to look firme!

Review specifically for Adrian: Very sloppy work. Very uneven on the left side and right side of my head. The top middle part of my hair was longer than the front and that was NOT what I wanted. He was continually distracted while cutting hair as well. + No massage? Whereas other employees there do this. Lazy, inattentive, and not worth what is charged. Some people there do good, consistent work. The same cannot be said for Adrian.

Good things come to those who wait. After waiting approximately one hour, I was rethinking my decision to check out El Catrin. Is it really worth the hype? Is it any different than other barbershops? Yes. Yes it is. Adrian did an awesome job from start to finish. After Supercuts massacred by gentleman’s haircut, I was really hoping to avoid a repeat offense. Fortunately, Adrian nailed every little detail. He really took his time even though a number of other people were waiting. The taper was spot on, the length on the top was just right and the hair part wasn’t too rigid. Loved the old school barbershop techniques as well — the neckline shave, massage machine, and the hot towels added to the overall experience. The wait can range from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours for walk-ins, so find something to keep yourself entertained. The shop plays movies(Great Gatsby was on when I went) and has a few magazines as well. You can bring food from outside to snack on while you wait. Cuts are $ 18. Pretty damn cheap considering that Supercuts charges nearly the same price. El Catrin is my new go-to barbershop in Santa Ana.
