We don’t know where we would get our cakes if they ever closed or moved. We love the cookie make, miles hojas, we love the variety of pinatas, cheap candles, and owners are super nice. To order a big full sheet cake they just need a few days notice. For normal size cakes they have some made already, no need to order. They can do custom ones too.

Days after having a cake from J & for my birthday J I would still think about it at work and couldn’t wait to go home and have a slice. This pasteleria makes amazing cakes! My friends ordered me a tres leches(my favorite) cake from J&J and it was absolutely delicious. Everything about it was perfect. The moist bread wasn’t overly soaked in milk, the fruit was peaches were likely canned but still tasty and complemented the bread and frosting really well. Speaking of frosting, I’m extremely picky when it comes to frosting. I find that real frostings can be overly sweet and the whipped cream frostings tend to be flavorless. This one was just right. It was milky, sweet and light and was so good I was scraping it off the plate when I finished my slice of cake. My friends ordered the cake the same day they were giving it to me and it was ready for them when they picked it up. I would highly recommend this bakery if you’re looking for a really good tres leches cake!

This is one of those moments where you just want everything to be just so and with that in mind my husband found for me and my son the perfect cake, the challenge was to make this possible and exceed expectations. Not only was this a work of edible art, but it was as if it was plucked from my imagination and it was the most delicious cake I have ever eaten. The design was gorgeous, more beautiful that the pictures of design, the color are exactly like teams. He was able to pick two different flavors so that made it exciting for the guests; Now that I went here I will always get my cakes here. I would highly recommend J&J BAKERY!!! Mil Gracias por tan Perfectos y Deliciosos Pasteles

This restaurant is located in the Stater Bros. plaza on Edinger and Fairview. I came here on Father’s Day after seeing the good reviews on Unilocal.I was worried that I would have to wait to get a fruit cake, but it seemed as though they had plenty on hand. When I got there, he told me the cake was $ 23, so I asked him to write«Happy Father’s Day» on it for me. However, upon receiving the cake, he said to me(in Vietnamese) that it was $ 25. I told him that he had just told me it was $ 23. He proceeded to ask me to please be understanding and that the price of gas has gone up, etc. etc. That is fine, but I do not get why he would tell me $ 23 and then change it to $ 25 one minute later. I was so dumbfounded that I just took my change and left. I have never had that happen to me before. To add salt to the wound, the cake was not even good. It was more of a graham cracker taste than a flaky pastry, which I am used to. There are plenty of other better places to get fruit cake(Le Croissant Dore) where I will not get ripped off. I really wanted to support this little bakery, but I will never return after this experience.

4 years difference and how this place is open is beyond my comprehension. I went in and it was empty, smelled, dirty and unorganized. A small cake for like 10 people is $ 25!

I’ve been coming here for years, around June cuz it’s one of my sisters favorite cakes, loves the Chinese fruit cake here(I don’t know the actual name of the cake). It cost about $ 23/$ 25 bucks for the cakes. I love how it tastes! Everything about this cake just compliments each other! I ordered one for my civil wedding lol needless to say there are never any left overs with this cake! I gave it. 4 star rating cuz it looks kinda dirty and run down. I love their cakes but I don’t like how dirty it looks. I haven’t been here in a year, cuz I started baking birthday cakes for my family, but whoever asks me where to purchase a cake that’s not too sweet I’d recommend J&J!

their fruit cake is pretty good! The graham-cracker like bottom is unique and delicious! The price is reasonable for a large cake! Definitely will go back!

I tried a cake from this place, and it was very delicious. One of our friends brought it over for a potluck, and everyone just devoured it for dessert. I had no leftovers. I do not know the name of the cake, but it looks like the ones in the photos here. So I suppose the name of it is Le Croissant Dore fruit cake. It was a sponge cake with many varieties of fruits on top. I felt like I was eating healthy cause of all the kiwis, strawberries, and other fruits on top! The cake costed $ 23. I’ll have to make sure to stop at their place one of these days so I can try their other delicacies. You should too.

My family and I have been buying cakes from this bakery for some time now. We love the mocha cake its delicious. Their prices are pretty fair but can get up there. We usually spend around $ 40 for the smallest sized sheet cake with simple birthday decorations. The cakes themselves are pretty good I cant deny that but… The service is VERY disappointing! I work the service/retail business and service comes hand in hand with product. Every time I would go order and pick up a cake the people were okay, but I wouldn’t say nice nor friendly. Now the last couple of times the service was the worst ever! It was so bad I dont think I will ever buy from them again even if i like their cakes, I rather drive farther and pay even more than to go back. Here is the experience that made me decide not to go back. I went to go pick up a cake that my sister ordered the previous day. There was a balance of $ 20 which I was aware of and paid. THe girl who helped me and charged me was very shy and was probably the only nice person to at least say thank you. Anyway as she processed the payment someone else brought the cake to the counter and walked away. Now this cake was a birthday cake for a party and like most people I wanted to see the cake 1. to see what my sister had ordered(I didn’t know what design she placed) I was just curious and 2. I wanted to make sure there wasn’t anything wrong with it and that they had written the name correctly and what not. so when I look into it(They had placed it inside the cake box with the lid open) I peeked inside– didn’t even touch the box– I noticed a big smudge on the front side of it, as if they had pushed it against the box or something. It looked bad, especially because it was the front of the cake. So i asked the girl if they could fix it. She looked at me confused and looked at one of the ladies who was walking over. The lady, who Im assuming is the one who decorates the cakes, comes over and says something to the younger girl helping me and then looks at me and makes a face at me and says«What?» To make clear they spoke Vietnamese to each other, so I didn’t know what they were saying. I asked the lady if she can please fix it as i pointed to the smudge. She looked at it and looked up at me again and rolled her eyes at me and shook her head and said something in Vietnamese to the girl again. She looked bothered and mad that I had asked her to fix it! Like I said I work retail and have worked at a restaurant before so I am always conscious of when, what, and how I ask things. I am also one to never really complain, but this is a birthday cake for people to see and take pictures and I expected it to look nice. ANyway, she walked to the back to fix it and while she was back there, several people(who were there eating in the back counter, family members it seemed) kept asking and or talking to the girl again in Vietnamese. They were also looking at me, so its not hard to say that they were talking bad about me. The lady came back and didn’t even look at me just placed the cake in the counter and walked away as I thanked her the young girl thanked me and I thanked her back. It’s 10 times worse than what it sounds I promise! and I honestly was very polite and asked very nicely to fix it, Im not one to take the time to write any kind of review but I felt very upset and felt I needed to. 2 stars because I cant deny their cakes are pretty good!

If you’ve never had a Le Croissant Dore fruit cake, this place does a very fair rendition of it. It doesn’t quite do it as well as other places I’ve had it, but the differences are really minor, just a matter of personal preferences. For $ 23, you can get a ¼ sheet cake(easily enough to feed 8), consisting of a pastry layer, lightly sweetened custard cream, sponge cake, topped with whipped cream and fruits. The only reason why I think other places do it better is because you get more repetition of layers at other places, although the cakes are roughly the same size. Either way, the cake here was still delicious. The pastry layer was crispy and you can hear the crunch as your utensil breaks through it. Both the light cream and custard cream are light and not too sweet. The fruit used, is sweet, although the peaches are canned, the strawberries and kiwi were fresh. What I like most about this place was I called at 9am and the cake was ready by 10:30am. I think I could have just said I was coming now, and they would still have a cake ready for me. But I definitely recommend calling ahead and ordering it to ensure they have cakes for you, because it seems like they only have a limited number of these cakes on hand, while the rest of the pasty case at the shop was filled with pre-orders. The place is located in a really old strip mall with a Stater Bros grocery store. It looks a little questionable, but the strip mall is pretty quiet with plenty of parking, and I was in and out within 5 minutes. In terms of service, both on the phone and in person were nice, friendly, and to the point(my favorite kind of service). If you don’t live in Westminster like I don’t, I would recommend this place to get a cake as an alternative to having to trek to Westminster, going to one of the many crowded strip malls and struggling to find parking for a simple cake pickup.

From the ages of 6 all the way to 15, my dearest mom always bought me Le Croissant Dore for my birthday so I’m utterly tired of that cake with custard but I do still love fruits. This place is in a shady looking area but I still call it home :) They have delicious fruit cakes without the overwhelming custard but they do still have the flaky crust. This place only takes cash and always has the fruit cakes ready and waiting.

I’m all for Butter Cream Frosting, Lemon bread, cute figurines and Fancy Shmancy(is that how you spell it?) cakes, but sometimes, I just want a cake that’s Plain, Simple, Fruity and Delicious! This place has it all, Wedding, Quincenera, Birthday cakes, Pan Dulce, Bolillo(Mexican shell shaped bread used for sandwiches) and cupcakes! The store and the shopping center it’s located in, is kind of a little … run down, it looks like it hasn’t been kept up in years, but don’t let it’s look fool you, it has an amazing cake! I’ve been coming here for so many years, it’s hard to even remember how long it’s been and one major thing keeps making me come back … their cookie fruit cakes! Thin slices of white bread, with cookie sheets layered on top of each layer of bread and in between each layer, a frosting that’s a cross between tres leches and butter cream. Yum! At the very top of the cake, arranged to cover every single inch(and around the sides) are slices of kiwi, peaches, strawberries, pineapples and cherries! The owners are really nice and helpful, you can always order a full cake in the morning, and pick it up by 3pm the same day … on a Saturday! Except when a holiday lands on or near a Saturday or Sunday, then you have to call in the day before.
