Ah… a little taste of Puebla. I ordered a milanesa Cemita and it was good. The meat wasn’t as good but the whole thing all together was good.

First time here & this little place was delicious! My boyfriend and I got the Asada poblana. reminded us somewhat of a torta but different in a couple of ways. Everything about it was delicious. super tasty. you can either get the green sauce or red sauce inside. I would recommend the red sause. The location of this place is right on the street of Main street, so don’t miss it!

Cemita of Carne Asada with Queso Fresco. sit out in the patio and enjoy life. The bread on this is awesome… not that silly stupid super soft stuff that seems to be favored by suckas everywhere. Thats all I’m gonna say… is on Main Street in DT Santa Ana… has plenty of parking though on street and its own lot… do yourself a favor and get a sandwich.

I didn’t like this place it was the worst out of all the cemitas I’ve had and it’s the only local one as well I was disappointed because they didn’t even have Milanesa de pollo and that’s how I like my cemitas would not go bak. The cemita was not delicious or flavorful. Lowkey LA makes them better! A food truck called cemitas poblana culver city

This little hole in the wall is located close to downtown santa ana, youll miss it if you drive to fast and the hrs are unexpected, its a small place with only outdoor seating, you order at the window and theyre fast making orders, theres a lot of different items to order, but why oreder anything else beside the cemita lol, im pretty sure thats what they specialize if thats what the restaurant is called, Cemita is a big type of torta very taste i got the asada one withe quesillo, which is like syring cheese, papalo came with it i wasnt enjoying myself, to me it tastes like cilantro and onion mixed together but in a wrong way lol. other than i recommend this place, dont take my word for it just go

The cemitas are excellent(and huge) service is very good kind of a hole in the wall atmosphere which are always the best, I would recommend the Cocinero comes with a little bit of everything. The location is good easy to find and you sit outside to eat. No Papalo on the sandwiches when we went but still delicious and filling would deff go back

I ordered the cemita milanesa because of all of the favorable reviews about it on Unilocal. It sounded like a sandwich with which I could become obsessed. Unfortunately, that was not the result. Location — This is a small order from the counter, mom and pop location in downtown Santa Ana. All of the seating is outdoors. The service at the counter here is very good. The girl who took my order at the counter was very friendly and gracious. Food — Cemita is a type of sandwich originating from Puebla, Mexico. Milanesa is a breaded, deep-fried thinly pounded(about a quarter inch in this case) slice of beef. The portion of meat was very generous exceeding the bounds of the bread. But, the piece of beef which should have been the star of the show did not have any flavor, let alone beef flavor. It was crunchy on the outside and a little dry on the inside. I was disappointed because I really wanted to like this sandwich and wanted to taste the beef. The bread/roll was a very fresh tasting sesame seed bun or roll which I really enjoyed. There were fresh sliced avocados, sliced onions, I believe what was Quesillo, which is Mexican string cheese(it sort of had a mozzarella flavor), papalo(which is a green herb resembling cilantro but, from my taste, a little milder and earthier), and a yummy and addicting, smokey, and thick chipotle sauce. The chipotle sauce was not too hot but still had the perfect amount of kick, and really added to the flavor of the sandwich. Were it not for the bland tasting milanesa beef, I would have given the sandwich a higher rating. Perhaps a 3.5 or even 4 stars. The reason being is that the rest of the ingredients in the sandwich were quality and fresh ingredients. I am not sure if I will return. But, because of all of the other fresh ingredients in my sandwich, I may return to try another type of sandwich. This restaurant is seemingly very authentic(and I mean that in a good way). I like it when an establishment gives you what is very authentic food from whatever region they come from, instead of offering watered down american versions. Watered down american versions of regional or out of the US food are usually disappointing.

I had the Milanesa Cemita. With queso fresco & oaxacan cheese. And it was amazing. Perfectly seasoned crispy and tender meat. The chile verde was a nice. Also put the pickled carrots and peppers on you’re Cemita and You’ve got a near perfect sandwich. Definitely adding to my list if favorite eats.

Pretty good place for some Latin sandwiches! I was craving some tortas and I looked this place up. Decently priced– you only pay for the sandwich. Fries, drinks are extra I had the breaded carne(forgot the term) and it was well portioned and seasoned with chipotle. My fiancé had a regular torta and it was packed with mayo hard parts of lettuce. I would give it another shot but wouldn’t go out of my way.

I came here and loved it! Looking forward to coming again! I had a ham cemita and it was so delish! Pros: the portions are big so if your tummy can’t wolf down a lot of food then share a cemita. I ate about half and was stuffed. The service is awesome! The lady at the counter was really nice and didn’t mind explaining the ingredients.(I had never had a cemita before) The wait is modest. I went on a Saturday night and there was a bit of a wait but I don’t mind since they make it when you order. Cons: No parking :(the parking lot behind this place is small and most of it is taken over by the mariscos customers next door. Either make your own parking space(like we did) or park on the street. They put queso fresco on my cemita even though I had told them I didn’t want any. I mean, not a major mistake but I’m not a queso fresco fan… I still ate it tho =] Overall, I would recommend this place! I will probably be back soon to try another cemita.

Dad-in-town-eating-frenzy Episode 5! Okay, I don’t know what hit me in the head and made me forget to return to La Cemita Poblana between June 2011 and now, but whatever it was, it must have been heavy. That’s the only way I can explain not having patronized the heck out of this place and its perfect cemitas in the last two years. If you have 10 bucks, you can drink a bucket of tamarindo agua fresca(yes, a bucket, it’s like 32 ounces) and eat a huge, bulging, intimidating brick of a perfectly balanced sandwich: fired up with chipotle, cooled down with avocado, crunched out with breaded steak, and squeaky on your teeth with cubes of fresh cheese. And of course, beneath it all lies that awesome papalo leaf whose praises I sung in my last review.
