My family has been seeing Dr. John McCaffery for any ENT concerns since 2010. I have been consistently happy with his knowledge, skills, and expertise. In addition, he has shown himself to be a very caring and empathetic physician — very wonderful traits to have in a doctor. I read an earlier review by someone else, that berated his staff. I have not seen that as a consistent problem. Most of the staff I’ve dealt with have been very competent, courteous, and a pleasure to work with.

McCaffery is a great doctor, and a very nice guy. That isn’t the problem. The problem is that his staff are collectively the most inept employed humans I’ve come across in my life. You can expect that they will fail to relay information accurately to each other and to Dr. McCaffery. You can also expect that they will be rude, condescending, and apathetic about even the most basic requests. Don’t try to confront them about their complete failings at handling basic office tasks that any other doctor’s office has to deal with — they will make excuses and pretend it’s your fault. I’m sure McCaffery just wants to save a buck or two by hiring the cheapest labor possible, but this will ultimately cost him more in the end.
