Probably one of the bigger breweries in the area. It had a wide selection of beers and our waitress was super knowledgeable about them all. My favorite was the apricot wheat, it was so sweet and delicious! It had such a unique taste to it. The beers are also super cheap and the atmosphere was laid back and welcoming. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because the nachos we ordered were not that great, but I’m sure their menu has a ton of other tasty things I am for sure going to try on my next visit.

This was one of my biggest disappointments in Santa Barbara. I used to enjoy this place, but my last two visits were a complete disaster. I returned hoping it the bad experience was an isolated one. On my last visit we had a seared tuna salad, chicken wings, and a steak. The salad was ok, the wings were awful. How do you screw up wings. The medium rare steak was well done. We complained and the new steak was very rare with blood all over the plate. This was very embarrassing after I said this place was good. The beer is still great, but I will never ever buy food here again.

Stopped by here and had a flight of their most popular beers which were all pretty good, got the nachos that tasted ok and the prices were pretty low. I did enjoy how much space there was and the outside patio looked nice as well. Will come back!

Jamie is a killer. A killer bartender that is cool and treats us well. Great personality and adds to our enjoyment of the place. We’ll be sure and stop back soon. She told us about the local place and was great describing the fine bar food. The salmon was great. Thank you much! See you soon!

Pros, Cons, then summary. Went here with a group of friends recently. Pros – The place was big enough for our group, and they set it up ahead of time too. The food was good and the beer was too. My wife enjoyed the artichokes and the clams were tasty. Plenty of TVs and sports were on. Cons – Parking sucks here, street parking basically and it gets crowded. Have more than one toilet in a place this big, as it gets packed on weekend nights. Also, have Wifi that works, and outlets for people to charge phones. While the waitress was nice, check came rather quickly and once we cashed out we were practically nonexistent. I understand if we were just wasting space, but we weren’t. We still wanted more drinks and willing to spend more money. Also, the band was too loud. We wanted to talk with family and friends, but had to yell at each other to make a point. Save the band for weeknights. Would I go back? I’ll have to say«maybe». There are plenty of breweries in the SB area, so I think I’ll go elsewhere in the near future. It’s kind of «out-of-the-way» for my family.

Really tasty food, totally not expecting that quality from looking at the outside. Dog friendly and friendly staff. Would definitely eat here again!

My mom, my dog and I came here one night after a long day of shopping on State Street. We wanted an outdoor/dog friendly patio and boy, did we get that! I think 95% of the tables outside had at least one dog at their table. 2 stars for service: As we first walked up, there was no clear entrance to a host stand or a place to be greeted. So we kind of just stood there and waited for someone to help us. Naturally I sparked conversation with some people finishing up their meal and they offered us their table. I said ok and pulled up a chair. Finally a lady and a gentleman asked for my name. Then disappeared. A couple more people started waiting with us and gave their names but the staff didn’t seem to call out names at any point… we all just kind of waited for people to get up and leave. Thankfully I had already marked our territory and scored a great table by the«front» door. 5 stars for food!!! Holy moly. Wine was great. Got the house cab. Not bad at all. We then ordered two grilled artichoke, shrimp & polenta, and filet mignon appetizer. WOW. All phenomenal and tasty and fairly priced. Totally made up for the lack of efficient service. Would recommend this place to anyone but please, be aggressive about getting yourself a table otherwise you might just stand there like a dummy.

Came here back in January for birthday brunch with three other friends. It was bottomless mimosas and AYCE. The service was amazing! The staff kept everything filled at the buffet, the person making the omelets was super nice, and our server was seriously keeping true to the bottomless part of our mimosas(and not watered down, so double brownie points!). We loved the experience! The staff alone is reason enough for me to go back. The buffet itself is classic breakfast and no frills, which I loved(don’t give a girl too many options, because then she gets indecisive). They went the EXTRA mile by being super sweet and making some of my orders cute(chocolate hearts and whatnot, being the birthday girl and all). Birthday song and treat included. Definitely worth coming!

The good: –Mahi Mahi Fish n Chips: Unlike most places that tend to drown out the fish with too much breading, the thin but crispy breading here was PERFECT — just as fish n chips should be! Nice big, flakey pieces of fish… awesome! –Grilled Mahi Mahi Sandwich: Not breaded like the fish n chips, but just as tasty! GIANT slab of fish cooked absolutely perfectly on a yummy crispy bun with the option of adding lettuce, tomato, pickles, tartar — really a delicious sandwich! Fries were great too — thick, steak-cut yumminess! –Microbrews: We each ordered one(a lager and a porter) and thought they were great! SB is obviously known for its wines, but the beer was an unexpected treat! –Dog-friendly! Not only do they allow you to have your dog on the patio, but they have an entire dog menu! The servers were all very sweet with our puppy and the menu made me laugh with delight — there are all kinds of treats for your pup available, like hot dogs, burgers, biscuits n gravy… very cute! And the patio here is bigger than most other restaurants in the area, so there’s a better chance you’ll find a place if you do have a dog with you. The meh: –Calamari: It was really just ok. We got it as an app, but the breading was a little too heavy and soggy, and the dipping sauce was just kind of blah. Definitely better with lemon squeezed on, but I probably wouldn’t order it again. –Getting the check: Despite the fact that our server was very sweet and attentive at the beginning, by the time we were eating she was pretty busy with the other customers on the patio and it seriously took FOREVER to get our check… We didn’t want to be rude or stress her out, but she wouldn’t even make eye contact with us and eventually we had to shove our credit card in her hand as she was rushing by. Maybe it was just a fluke, but it shouldn’t take 30 minutes to close out…

First time to The Brewhouse. We went for dinner. We sat out front on the patio since we had our dog with us. Got to love a place that has a dog menu(our dog had already had her dinner)! The patio is a bit dark and there are a lot of people/dogs walking on the sidewalk, however, there is a fence between the patio and sidewalk. They do have heaters on the patio(not needed when we were there). Here’s what we had: Pistachio Crusted Salmon — large and thick piece of salmon over a spinach risotto with whole roasted garlic, sun-dried tomatoes and shitake mushrooms with a light sauce. Too much food for me to finish. 5 stars Apricot Chipolte Glazed Pork Chop topped with grilled pineapple. With shallot mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. Hubby didn’t leave a bite on his plate. 5 stars I’m a lightweight when it comes to beer — I like Bud Light and Blue Moon, but I had to try a couple of their beers. Apricot Wheat — pretty darned good, but a filling beer. 4 stars Red Lager(can’t remember the exact name but it’s wasn’t Octoberfest) — not smooth, very strong tasting — I got the 4 oz taster and could not finish it. 0 stars

After several hours of hiking, my wife and I decided to kill two birds with one stone and check out some craft brews while re-energizing with lunch. As such, we ended up here at Brewhouse, which was pretty packed for the NFL playoffs in the dead middle of the afternoon. Getting seated wasn’t difficult, although the lady at the front was rather indifferent — kind of put the menus on the table and ran off quickly — and our waitress was a bit on the gruff side, but she did get us both food and drink very quickly. It’s a bit divey inside — our high-top table was a bit rickety — but it still had a nice down-home feel to it, punctuated every now and then by an Amtrak passing by(the spot is pretty close to the railroad that goes through town). I went for a beer flight, and I have to say that I do like their house IPAs; both had a relatively hoppy profile that was a bit more restrained than some of the more floral, brighter IPAs that one might encounter. The double IPA in particular was very drinkable and probably my favorite of the ones I tried. The honey brown ale was also quite nice — a warm brown ale with hints of sweetness. The pale ale(Nirvana is what it is called, IIRC) was my least favorite, mainly because it didn’t really stand out. I know APAs are generally a bit starker /bleaker when it comes to flavors relative to IPAs, but this definitely was the weakest of the bunch. For food, I ended up going with huevos rancheros in the middle of the afternoon, but what a great choice! The eggs over a couple of semi-crisped tortillas were delicious, and with a generous heaping of avocado, sour cream, along with beans on the side, it ended up being a very hearty, very delicious rendition of the dish. The extra tortilla chips served were nice to add more crunchiness, but given the sheer quantity, I do wish they had provided some salsa as well. I definitely enjoyed the beers here, and the food wasn’t that shabby either — my wife was also pleased with her fish tacos. For a place to grab some casual food and good microbrews, Brewhouse is a pretty solid place to stop by, and it is one that I would come back to.

This is a great place for buffet breakfasts, especially since you can add unlimited mimosas! They also have a very good selection of beers and are setup as a great sports bar. Just don’t expect too much from the wait staff. I’ve been here many times and it always seems very hit and miss.

My friends and I had a terrible time here. We went on a Sunday evening and the waitress tried seating us outside(in 40 degree weather without the hearing lamps). We requested to be seated inside at a table — there was a table open that seated 10. She wouldn’t allow us to sit there because we had a group of 6. One of the girls just ended up asking a random waiter if he could seat us inside, so we were able to in the end. The food was terrible. We felt a little sick after eating here. I would never go back to this place after the experience we had.

I love this place. I’m not in love with many restaurants, but this one has a hold on me. We’ve always had great service, great food, and great beer. You really had me at great beer, but I guess the rest is ok too. Another thing that I’m in love with is their oyster shooters. 2 bucks a pop. Served in a little shot glass and delicious every time. The real question is how many will I order this time? Served 4 – 6 during Happy Hour, but if you ask, you can get them anytime. Our last visit introduced us to the pastrami. Thick cut and served on toasted bread. Oh so good. She got a salad. Can’t remember which one but we did a lunch tango. Switching dishes back and forth. IPA is always on tap and I’m sure the other beers are good, we just don’t roll that way. It’s hops or nothing. The restaurant has a nice patio area to hang out and enjoy the Santa Barbara weather, comfy seating inside by the bar in chairs that remind you of mom’s house, or booths if you’re looking for that intimate dinner date. Not sure if that last description is true. Never tried it. We’re always near the bar and in the middle of people watching central. Thanks Brewhouse for all the memories!

I came here on a Saturday in a group of 7, to try their bottomless brunch with mimosas. The service was great and the food options were plentiful. $ 27 for the whole deal seemed a little pricey at first until I realized how serious the place is about«bottomless». Our awesome server, Lexi, kept coming by to check on us and provide refills every couple of minutes. She also handled the growing party with ease — people kept joining the group, as we were meeting at the restaurant to continue to a birthday party, and she just made sure they were taken care of too. The food was typical breakfast buffet stuff like bacon, fruit and potatoes, but they also had the option of making your own waffle, an omelette bar with tons of meats and fresh veggies, and, my surprise favorite, chicken wings. The wings tasted great with the omelette. It’s nice to know of a good place that does Saturday brunch! I look forward to going back sometime.

I have been going to the Brewhouse for 20 ish years(crazy). I had my very first grilled artichoke at the Brewhouse and it is still the best grilled artichoke I have ever had in my entire life. All their food is great, but I am obsessed with the artichoke. I am newly obsessed with the pork chop with the apricot glaze. I am not even a big pork eater, but this piece of meat is so good. My husband thinks it’s too sweet, I personally think it is perfect. I generally add a little salt and then I am in heaven. I know The Brewhouse is not much to look at, but the food is fantastic, there grill must be special. The beer is good and always has been. I love sitting outside with my dogs. I love that is a neighborhood bar with a great kitchen. My husband and I have been before and the service was not great, everyone is nice, but that doesn’t mean the service is always on. Last night, we went for dinner, Nate was our waiter and he was fantastic. It was a pleasure being waiting on by him. Cheers to you Nate, you are awesome.

5 stars for pet friendly service! 3 starts for human friendly service. Seat yourself, the waitress is less then enthusiastic. The bus boy was the most helpful! Food was alright, priced decently. My favorite part was being able to bring my dog, they even have a doggie menu and she brought out a bowl of water! I’d only ever come back if I had my dog with me. Otherwise, I’m sure there are better places in Santa Barbara for a beer.

Happy hour! :) :) :) Loved coming here for this occasion. Servers are extremely friendly and so helpful in helping you choose a beer out of the crazy amount that they have. Love the indoor and outdoor seating; we chose to sit outdoors since the weather was so nice. $ 1 off all beers, so you’re basically paying around $ 4 for a pint. They have a good number of IPAs, Belgian Ales, Red Ale, House Beers, and so much more! My friend and I got Fish and Chips on the happy hour menu for $ 6 and they were delicious. Fish was fried to a good level and the fries were very yummy. Atmosphere is very casual and relaxed, I saw many families coming here for dinner as well. Also saw lots of college kids hanging around. All in all, I had a great time here and will definitely be coming back again to try out more of the beers!

This place is an institution here in SB. They have great beer, and an incredible and comprehensive menu. I struggle every time I come to pick an entrée, cause there are so many to choose from. Some favorites: Gorgonzola dip, Vegetarian Enchiladas, warm spinach salad. All the sandwiches and burgers are great, and the steaks too. If you’re feeling ballsy, grab a habanero beer shot. Saturdays and Sundays are great for the brunch buffet, which includes and omelette station and chicken wings, also with the bottomless mimosa add on. You might just find yourself sticking around until happy hour. I love sitting outdoors here. My only complaint is that it can be very loud inside, so I always feel like I have to scream across the table at the people I am with. But it is totally worth it! And they often have good live music and the staff is always fun and friendly!
