I could not help but come leave a review after reading the review from Liene W. about her experience with Meghan Luetkehans. First of all, she could not be more off base– not only is Meghan the most professional, thorough and precise hair stylist I have ever had, she certainly cares that you leave happy with your hair. I have gotten my hair done at a handful of salons in Santa Barbara, and it wasn’t until Meghan starting doing my hair that I finally left LOVING my hair. Since Meghan started doing my hair, I constantly get stopped by strangers to comment on my color and style. I have recently moved out of state and seriously considered buying a plane ticket to California just to get my hair done by Meghan because it is that GREAT. Liene clearly did not take the time to know Meghan, because if she did she would know that Meghan also owns a salon in Chicago and was back there working when Liene claimed she was «lying». Not only was she there working, but the type of person Meghan is holds much more integrity than that. Meghan, as well as my experience at the Hair Salon was impeccable– the staff there is so friendly, the salon is adorable and extremely clean. It’s not the ocean that I miss about Santa Barbara, it’s my amazing hair stylist, Meghan Luetkehans that I miss.

Casey revived my look after my hair took a beating from sun, saltwater, and chlorine damage. She gave me beautiful and natural looking highlights. I’m very happy with my cut and color!

It’s rare that I feel so compelled to write a negative review of a service provider, but such is the case with Megan Luetkehans of The Hair Lounge of Montecito who did my hair recently, and who I will never have do so again. The day Megan cut/​dyed my hair, she was clearly overbooked, and was juggling 2 – 3 people at a time. Between bouncing around among clients, making fun of the assistants «orange» tan, Megan made a mistake coloring my hair which I did not notice at the time. Once I discovered the mistake I contacted Megan who suggested I wait a couple of washing a to see if it blended in better. Okay, that’s reasonable, so I did. But the washing did not make it better, so I contacted Megan again to have the mistake fixed. I told her it was very important for me to look good for social events, family pictures and the upcoming holidays, at that point Megan claimed to be out of town for three weeks. What finally compelled me to write this are the pictures Megan posted on Instagram, still in town and still cutting hair. Clearly, she could have done the right thing and fixed her mistake on my hair instead of lying to me, but she chose not to. When you pay $ 200-​$ 300 for a hair cut/​dye you should be able to expect decent results and service, and not be lied to.
I certainly will NOT be back!!!

Lindsey is great! She colored and cut my hair before my brother’s wedding. The only reason I won’t be a regular is my dear friend is a hairdresser in So Cal and is giving me grief for not using her since I moved back to So Cal.
Lindsey also works at a very well know salon in LA so if you live in Santa Barbara book your appointments in advance with her when she is at the Montecito salon.
The salon also sells my fav hair product lines and it is super cute and in a great location.
I recently got engaged and looking at Lindsey’s extensive portfolio she would be amazing for photo shoot and/​or wedding hair too!

I had my hair done by Casey this last Saturday evening. She was very accommodating to take me late notice and at night before my work trip this week. I wanted to go all over dark brown. She was very knowledgable and showed me some color swatches and explained the tones and colors to me. She trimmed the dead ends off and gave me a nice blow dry. If you’re wondering if she’s a good stylist, just look at her before and after photos! I think she did a great job and her prices are definitely reasonable, especially for this area.

Worst experience of my life! I went to the hair lounge because I was referred there by a friend. I had long beautiful dark brown straight hair. I was looking to see another hairdresser but, she was unavailable. They said, Casey could do my hair. Pressed for time I agreed. I sat with Casey and explained to her I wanted a few more layers in the front of my hair but, not too short! I don’t care for short hair on me. I also explained I don’t like any texturizing as it frizzed my hair! I have a bad right hand after a injury last June. I am unable to spend time with a round brush. In addition my hair is fine so I asked if she would not use the razor or texturizing. All that does is frizz my hair. Used it anyway… Casey said my hair was too dark for my age and recommended highlights. Apprehensive I asked her if it would damage my hair? She said no! All her colors are not damaging. Casey asked me to trust her! BIG MISTAKE! I told her I don’t like red so please use ash colors. The roots never took, the highlights are frizzy! After 3 appointments to cover my grey that never took … another haircut that made it ever shorter to try and fix it. Casey took off 9 – 12 inches in some areas off my hair. So choppy! So many different length/​s ! I can’t style it! Looks awful and the only thing I can do is let it grow. I went to another person that said,” this is the most irregular haircut I have ever seen! I asked her not to cut it anymore. This hairstylists covered my roots first try. Casey took me in on two Sundays to try and fix it! The last appointment she recommended striping all the color from my hair and starting from scratch. Casey said it would not damage my hair. Glad I did not take her advice. I don’t know about the others that work there. Don’t see Casey if you have long hair. Products they sell there are marked up very high. i went to Amazon to buy the product which were considerably lower. In addition they never answer there phones! Have to reach the hairstylists on their individual cell phones. All I can say is GOOD LUCK! Find another salon. I told Casey how unhappy I was! her response was… Can’t please everyone! Why can’t people listen to their clients? Felt like she recommended the highlights and changing my color so she could charge more money. Their prices are WAY TOO HIGH! After spending over 300.00 I am so unhappy! Update… The owner Pam called me back. Told me that the product I bought on Amazon was boot legged and she has to charge the prices she does due to the manufacture. No real sympathy that I unhappy! Very sad to me.

Everytime that Pam has cut my hair, I’ve come away very pleased. Given the fact I’m a man with many calyx, that is no easy task! I highly recommend her!

I ended up at the Hair Lounge due to Pamela’s generous donation to Storyteller (fantastic non profit). When you have a gift certificate you don’t always get the same service and attention as paying client. Well that is absolutely not the case here. I felt totally pampered and I love what she did with my hair! Beautiful & clean salon and lovely talented hairdresser. I will be back!

Pam did an amazing job on my hair! I have never written a Unilocal but I just had too about this place! I have long blonde hair and I don’t like cutting it but Pam did absolutely everything I asked! I felt so comfortable and completely trusted what she was doing and believe me, she knows what she’s doing! She framed my hair perfectly and made it looks so natural and healthy. She gave me so many style tips as well!
After many bad experiences at hair salons I would really recommend trying The Hair Lounge. It has such a lovely atmosphere and everyone is so nice and welcoming.

Drop dead gorgeous salon, great location, ample parking. I see Pam the owner for regular blowouts. She’s amazing (and beautiful)!! Pam is always looking out for my fragile hair but she still makes it look bouncy, sleek, sexy, curly, even «big Texas hair.» Whatever I request she accomplishes it! Scheduling on
makes getting an appointment simple as well!

An update to my earlier review: its been about a month since I got my hair done and tonite my Husband of nearly 27 years commented out of the blue saying my hair looks the best its ever looked. This comming from a man who almost never comments on my hair. He went on to say, «whoever did your hair this last time did a great job»
We will be back in Santa Barbara at the end of April and I will be sure to make another appt w Pam!

Pam is incredible! What that woman can do with hair is truly awesome! I’m not a big talker when it comes to that hour I take to get my hair cut… usually, I just sit back, relax, and let someone pamper me. But Pam is just too much of a good time not to gab away for a whole hour! We had so much fun together, and the final product is amazing!

Can’t say enough wonderful things about Nicole!!! Amazing cuts, gorgeous color, and fabulous blowouts!!! To say I am picky about my hair is an understatement!! Ladies, this is the girl to see!!! A very very talented artist!!!

Absolutely love Pam and what she has done with my hair! She did a great job in lifting the color and my hair is so soft and healthy despite being blonde– she knows what she’s doing and makes sure that its 100% what you want. She even sat down with a bunch magazines to find the exact look that I wanted, great compared to other stylists I’ve been to where I have no idea what I might end up with.
