How anyone can give Tydes less than 5 stars is beyond me. My fiancé and I had the most amazing dining experience of our lives there this week. I had just proposed to her the day before and from the moment we walked in, everyone recognized us and the special occasion we were celebrating. We planned on having a typical dinner, but our waiter James absolutely blew us away when he offered us a special chef’s tasting. He took our menus and we put full trust in him to provide an amazing experience, and wow did he and the rest of the staff deliver! It ended up being something like 8 courses, each better than the last, paired with several incredible wines. The amazing chef, Joshua, even came out to introduce himself and congratulate us. James was by far the most knowledgable and professional waiter we have ever encountered and really made it a meal we will never forget! Thank you so much for everything! –Mike & Jess Plus how cool is the aquarium bar?!

What a great view of the Pacific Ocean. Very upscale menu. Nice selection of wine by the glass. Halibut and cioppino entrees delish.

Very cool atmosphere and beautiful setting. Drinks are fun but menu could be scaled back a bit to be a bit more user friendly for those looking for an easy snack. Other than that it’s a super hang out!

Top notch Makers Mark Manhattan. The seafood was delicious and well-prepared. The seating was a bit uncomfortable inside but I hear the ocean view seating is worth it when it’s light out. The service was excellent. The environment was a little loud, but overall a good dining experience.

Wonderful stay at the four seasons. We loved everything from A to Z. Tydes was our last dinner and we were very exited about an another romantic anniversary experience. The restaurant is located right in front of the ocean. We started with a fabulous martini then we shared the beef tartar with the ciopino . It was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately our green beans were undercook but we wanted to try the warm cherry pie for dessert and we were disappointed. This one was not what we expected. It was not warm and it was very rustic with no finesse to it. More like the American pie… Our waiter was exceptional like every employees at the Four Seasons at the exception of Andrea the manager who couldn’t be more condescending when he approached our table to apologize about the dessert. I gave only four stars because of the blasé attitude of the manager.

Just finished a wonderful birthday dinner a few hours ago. Our server, James, epitomized the definition of excellence. The service level at Tydes was consistent to a three star Michelin restaurant; it was that good! We had the black cod, filet mignon and other terrific dishes. Moreover, the spectacular setting of the oceanfront views made it a very romantic dinner. An absolute must for any special occasion. Again, thank you James for making our dinner a very memorable experience.

My girlfriend and I came here because we were staying at the biltmore across the street. It had good reviews so we thought we would give it a shit. Let me just say this place is way over priced. I don’t mind paying for great food, but this was not the case. The service was just ok and not as attentive as I would of liked. The appetizer was actually pretty good which was the octopus, although a pretty small portion for two. Both of our main courses were bland and had little to no flavor. I had the lobster pasta which was just a few pieces of lobster thrown on top of some mushroom pasta. My girlfriend had the poached salmon which had a poached egg on top. The salmon was slimy and was just plain tasting. For a 190 $ bill not including tip this food sucked and I won’t be coming back. I also have to mention we went to the fish house the next night and our food was 10 times better for half the price.

Stayed at the Four Seasons for Christmas week and with our room we had access to the private club. The restaurant: went for Christmas Eve dinner. Beautiful place and excellent service. Sat outside and the sound of the waves makes you feel in Hawaii. Our waiter(James) was very friendly and professional. We appreciated his service. I ordered the«market» streak that he spoke highly of but for $ 48 it was just ok. For that price I can think of at least 5 better places. It was a little hard and a touch overcooked but I hate to complain especially when the waiter was superb. The beef ribs though we’re fantastic and the oysters were excellent. 18% gratuity is included in this club so expect to spend north of $ 250 per couple @ dinner. The club: the pool and bathrooms are top notch. Olympic pool and really nice and warm. Hut tub is facing the ocean. The bathrooms were 5 stars and fully equipped. The gym is relatively small. Reason I took 1 star out? The steak I had wasn’t on par(I’m not a spoiled brat) but the Four Seasons restaurant had much better steak. The club was entirely closed Christmas Day(I upgraded my room specifically to access the club) so that was disappointing.

We sat outside, which was nice with the waves breaking and was well protected from the wind, so was nice and comfortable. I had the Branzino with shishito peppers, which was nicely cooked. Truthfully it didn’t need the breading, but that said was very tasty. Also had the octopus appetizer, which was even better than the branzino. Really nicely cooked and flavorful. Lastly, had the crème brûlée which was phenomenal.

I was told this is the best restaurant in Santa Barbara, and that is a tough fight. I’m now in agreement. First off, it is a vintage feel and the service is that of something out of a Gatsby image. My dinner of surf and turf(roast with lobster) was top notch. Should have snapped a photo, but devoured it before I even thought about all of you. The view is a horrible ocean. Haha. Sarcasm. Amazing all the way around. The problem is that unless it is a business meal I don’t think I could afford it.

While it is a gorgeous restaurant, the food left something to be desired. The corn soup was excellent and the octopus was great, but the beautifully presented beef tartar tasted good, not great, and the crab risotto could have been much better.

My wife and I just had a wonderful dinner there :) Food was more than you could ask for and the service was even better! Would dine again anytime… We have eaten at many restaurants in Santa Barbara and Montecito… Tydes is at the top…

On a beautiful, clear day in Santa Barbara, this is where you want to be. Breath taking view, cool servers, and great lunch. We were staying across the street at the Four Seasons, and popped over here for a bite. Wonderful privilege to Four Seasons guests. Check it out on a nice day and fine al Fresco! ;-)

We just had our anniversary dinner here, and we were really impressed with the food! Located inside the Coral Casino Cabana Club and across from the Four Seasons… the décor is nice, meant for more of little older crowd… and I take it the Coral is based on the color scheme of the place… Our dinner was at 7pm on a Thursday night so it wasn’t very crowded but Daniel or server was excellent! The entire staff from hostess to servers congratulated us on our Anniversary. The husband had the Seabass with risotto And I had the filet with spinach and frites… the herb fries were amazing! And my filet and spinach were perfectly seasoned. My husband considered his Sea bass to be the best he’s ever had! They also had his favorite Grgich Hills Chardonnay by the glass so that was an added bonus! I tried their signature cocktail the Tanatini?! And it was pretty good too! We also had their Brussel sprouts which were super Delish! So now I read some of the complaints about the prices but they seemed pretty reasonable compared to LA or Orange County standards. I don’t understand what that was all about… To top it off we decided to pass on the dessert so we could go hang out at the hotel bar and they were still so kind and gave us an adorable plate with«Happy Anniversary» and some berries, nuts, and chocolate shavings! We really liked our dinner experience here… if we came during the day I think the ocean view would have been breathtaking. It was a truly memorable experience!

I’ve been back to Tydes a couple of times since my initial review, most recently for our rehearsal dinner. It was a perfect venue for that event, and I’m updating my review to reflect my now permanent fondness for this restaurant. We rented out one of the dining areas for our group of thirty, and everything went very smoothly. The space was well lit and lovely, with beautiful views of the water. We enjoyed the sunset while we ate. Our friends and family were evidently pleased with the venue — everyone was in and out taking pictures with and of the scenery. We ate and drank wine and enjoyed ourselves for a good three hours. The food was great. Since we were a large party, we had a more restricted menu, which we decided on in advance.(My father-in-law organized the dinner, and he got our input then coordinated with the Tydes staff.) We had three options each for appetizer and entrée, with one fixed dessert. I tried most of what was available, and it was all delicious. I loved the tomato and burrata appetizer, a simple dish of juicy heirloom tomato slices and milky burrata cheese. The oysters on the half shell were also good, fresh and tasty with cocktail sauce, lemon, and a red wine mignonette. For my entrée, I ordered black cod served with sprouting legumes over sushi rice in a daikon charred onion dashi. I avoided the vegetally bitter greens, but the fish was buttery and flavorful, blackened with a briny coat of squid ink. The steak frites were also great — tender filet mignon with Bloomsdale spinach, housemade steak sauce, and some addictive herb fries. Dinner closed with a dessert of chocolate almond cake, with passion fruit coulis and toasted almond ice cream. The cake was just right, warm and barely set. Our rehearsal din

My husband and I were staying at the Four Seasons Santa Barbara for Steph C.‘s wedding and decided to come here for dinner after checking the menu here and at the other resort restaurants. We’re both fairly picky people – okay, I’m a lot more picky than he is – and this menu had at least a couple of things that I was up for trying. We came early to check out the view and ended up getting a drink at happy hour. The view was amazing, and no small part of the overall experience at the restaurant. The staff was very courteous and sat us at a table overlooking the ocean. The food was good – we ordered a decent number of sides so we could sample a variety of things. The big winner of the night was the brussels sprouts. Our waiter mentioned that they had tried a new preparation for them that night. It tasted like they were marinated in delicious. My husband was a huge fan, but I did manage to snag a couple before he polished them off. The other memorable item for me was the cocktail I ordered– a Tarantini, made with Belvedere, Blood Orange, sparkling wine, and agave lemonade. We obviously weren’t members, so we were paying the non-member prices, but even then the view definitely made it worth it!

Gorgeous location and beautiful quiet atmosphere, but food is only pretty good with slightly pretentious presentation. Prices for non-Coral Casino members are very high. Much too high for the quality of the food. It’s always worth a trip for a special occasion if you haven’t been before, but bring lots of money if you can’t get member prices.

Tydes is a gem oceanfront restaurant tucked within the Coral Casino Cabana and Beach Club. To gain access you must be a member the Club or guest of Four Seasons Biltmore Resort. Once inside Coral you will be escorted to the right where you can take the stairs or elevator up to the top level overlooking Butterfly Beach. Tydes offers incredible dining experience with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and Santa Barbara coastline. Take it slow and start with a glass of wine, our table dined over a few bottles! For appetizers I tried the Calamari and Rock Shrimp, cooked with cilantro, pesto, sunflower and lime. This was the first time I had ever seen calamari so small, too fishy for my taste, but my friends seemed to differ. The Flatbread starter suited by taste buds better, served with thinly sliced manchego, chorizo & serrano Ham. My entrée, the Mediterranean Branzino was succulent, crested with capers, olives and chickpeas. My friends Kobe burger was disappointing, the buns were burnt, the meat, not tender or juicy for medium rare. Just when I thought I was out of room to eat, desserts they were dropped: Vanilla Bean Cheese Cake, Caramelized Pear and Chocolate Soufflé! What makes this place special is its location, bring good company!

I came here on a recommendation of a friend, and let me say, if you could rate on the view and location, it would get 6 stars!!! To be fair, we did sit outside, and we were cold, and the staff offered us to move in, but we wanted the view so we stuck it out. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating, and unfortunately they were out of the special so we had the Branzino(yummy) and the Brisket. Everything was nice, however, I would recommend sitting inside when it’s windy because the food got cold quickly and didn’t taste as good as at the beginning of the meal. Definitely try the mussels with the chorizo and the broccolini with the Parmesan and chili flakes!
