Mamta Desai, DDS

I have been visiting Dr. Desai for almost 10 years now. I first met her when she used to work with Dr. Sudip Ghosh in Sunnyvale. Once she started her own practice, I moved to her office. Now my wife and two kids also visit her.
My primary reason for moving away from Dr. Sudip Ghosh’s office was severe pain after getting a filling and also the long waits and his busy schedule. In this regards, I have had absolutely no issues over the years while visiting Dr. Desai. She has always been very accommodative of our needs and gone to great lengths to deal with dental insurance issues. Plus she has never pushed for unnecessary procedures or x-​rays as mentioned in some of the prior reviews. We have called her during the weekend and late in the evening, and she has always responded to our needs.
We fully trust Dr. Desai and will whole-​heartedly recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Desai seems very conscientious to me.
She did not order any unnecessary tests or x-​rays or push any extra services on me.
Her staff are really good about scheduling follow-​up appointments.
Dr. Desai is very friendly and addresse my dental issues thoroughly.

We’ve been going to Dr. Desai for a long time. We made a grave mistake for doing so. Every single time we have pain in our teeth she blames it on something else. She doesn’t know what is actually wrong with our teeth. She is only decent at small things such as cleaning teeth, but other than that she is not an all around dentist that is not educated about all the problems that can occur and does not care about your pain — only money. For example, she made me pay around $ 900 for her service and night guard instead of helping with our pain. In fact when we went to another doctor, they told my dad that he had an infection. Dr. Desai had no idea about it… clearly she isn’t as educated as we thought she was. This infection could have spread and is fatal. I and other family members have had her clean our teeth and cause them to become sensitive. She does deep clean-​ups to eat up our money and always finds more cavities towards the end of the year to eat up insurance companies as someone else said here… I feel bad for all her other patients because they are totally unaware of how uneducated she is and that she eats up a lot of your money.

Felt she was more after insurance money than really after delivering best care. The quality of work on crown was not great either. I left her as a patient after being unsatisfied with the work she did on a crown.

The most money-​minded dentists I have every been too. She always insists on deep cleaning. She routinely finds more and more cavitites toward the year end! I am surprised insurance companies haven’t placed her on their watch list.

Do not ever go to her. she will eat up all insurance by luring you that «you do not have to pay out of your pocket «.
If you will just go for regular cleaning, she will definitely ask to go for deep cleaning just to make money.

Great Dentist. Educational. Informative. Cares about a patients overall health, rather then just getting the dental work done.
She is also willing to see family members for emergencies, and put the effort in obtain specialists.

I am sad that I went to her. She is really greedy. Once you go to her, she tries to work on as many teeth as possible, because I think she is also sure that you are NOT going to visit her again.
I went to her to fix my tooth, and I don’t know what she did, but my other teeth pain like never before now. Now I curse her every time it aches. Because of her, I am scared to go to any other dentist now.

I am happy I found her. Me, my wife and my two children visit her often.
She is a great dentist. Unlike most other doctors/​dentists, she has time for you and will do her work with care and interest.
I would recommend her to anyone.
She works with appointments, but in case need immediate attention she will bring you in !
