I’ve never been so addicted to a restaurant before! Omee. J is the place that got me eating sushi… I wish I would have found this place sooner, it’s a life changer! The fish is always so fresh and I’ve yet to try something that I didn’t like! The crispy sushi rice appetizer is a MUST, so is the My Roll M and the Big Daddy Roll! Let’s not forget to mention how amazing Jae is and all of his staff, they are so friendly and service is amazing! If I could rate Omee. J 1,000,000 stars, I would. Go to Omee. J and be prepared to have your life changed forever! :)

I don’t even like sushi that much, and I LOVED this place. Best sushi I’ve had in the Bay Area. I got the Phat Joe and it was everything I’ve ever wanted from sushi. All of their rolls have so many different things in them, and most have avocado which is a must for me. The tempura in combination with non-tempura seafood is also ideal to give you a crunch without sacrificing too much flavor. The sauces are delicious, and the sweet potato crunch on the outside is perfect. We also got the spicy garlic edameme and I could drink that sauce. Absolutely delicious, filling, and artful sushi. Bring your friends that don’t think they like sushi. They do like this sushi.

No greeting when we walked in. I overhead the worker talking to the party in front of us apologizing for the long wait and the party said they’ve been waiting for over 35 minutes. The worker even said she wasn’t even sure when there table would be ready due to the dinner rush. The décor though was really nice inside and the layout was spacious. The menu was big and I loved the pictures of all the rolls so you know what you’re getting. They have a bento box dinner option with a miso, salad, rice and 3 choices of plates. I was really excited to try it but we waited ~10+ plus minutes with no greeting or acknowledgement and ended up leaving for another restaurant to eat.

So far, walked in the door and absolutely zero eye contact from anyone for the first 7 minutes. We are standing literally at the check in counter. Then she had the audacity to try and take someone who just walked in(after) us and add them to the list. She literally never even looked at us. I can’t even review the food, but so far, incredibly rude and unprofessional service.

They’re extremely slow. The food is average and overpriced. They aren’t ready to accommodate large groups. For 6 people we waited nearly an hour on Friday night because they had to combine tables for us. That’s understandable at least, but after we were finally able to order, our food took at least another 30 minutes. They brought out the bento boxes, and those of us with rolls had to wait another 10 minutes. The waitress actually apologized for the rolls being late. Additionally, my friend’s gyoza in her bento box was COLD when it arrived. I ordered the New York roll and the four seasons roll. The fish didn’t taste particularly fresh and in fact had a bit of a warm, slimy texture. There was absolutely nothing special about them. The four seasons roll was too large to comfortably eat. If the prices had been average sushi restaurant prices, it would have gotten three stars from me. However, the ridiculous price attached to the meh rolls on top of the obscene waits make it a 2.

I love this sushi restaurant! The exterior of this restaurant masks the beauty inside. The décor is fresh and modern, and the food is amazing. I wish they had more sushi options that did not include a large amount of «spice,» seeing as I am a «weakling» when it comes to any actual heat. I would definitely recommend to family and friends, especially those who enjoy some«kick» in their meal!

Turning into my go-to sushi joint, and can’t say enough about the quality of the fish. I’m a sashimi type of girl generally — it can be pretty spendy here, but I find the chirashi bowl an excellent value. Tons of fresh fish — considering I never finish(or even really touch) the rice, they always ask me to make sure it was ok, and I just have to waive them off that yes, it was fantastic, but no, I can’t eat 3 lbs of rice in a meal. For two people, never had a wait on a Friday or Saturday night. Service can be a bit slow and scattered sometimes, but if you ask around, they’ll find someone to get your server. The TVs sometimes play odd things for a sushi place(oh man, I love watching Guy Fieri stuff his nasty face with BBQ while I’m eating raw fish), but can’t really take away much for that. It’s a smaller place, so I wouldn’t recommend coming with more than four people or so. Booze selection is fairly limited, but they do have Japanese beer and and some sake.

I wasn’t impressed with this place. The TV’s were playing sports but you could only hear radio music… It was not a pleasant ambiance. Seaweed Salad– $ 6 standard. 4piece Salmon sashimi-$ 9 standard. Basic… Maybe if I tried something else I could have better things to say, but the service and setting could make me care less.

I really enjoyed having dinner here last night! Not only was the food delicious… but the service was good and the restaurant ambience was nice too! I also really liked the music playing at the restaurant. Others in the restaurant seemed to like the music too since I spotted one guy pulling up his Shazam app! I highly recommend ordering the following items: + Jalapeño Ponzu Yellowtail = Nice mix of flavors! + Orange Ball Roll = Great for salmon lovers! The orange flavor really adds to the roll and makes it have a refreshing taste! Items that could have been improved: — Hamachi Kama = Seemed a little overcooked — Hotate Nigiri = It was too cold… Would have been better if it was a little more room temperature… — Amaebi = Too sweet… It was like sugar was sprinkled on top of the fried shrimp head/shell… Also, in addition to the Orange Ball Roll listed above, my party ordered 2 other rolls(4 Seasons and Deni) and they were both good. One person in my party also ordered a bento box and it came with lots of food! Overall, I really recommend this place for yummy sushi, fresh fish, and a classy dining experience. :)

Omee. J is a great pick-me-up after a bad or difficult day. It’s impossible not to walk out feeling 1000% better afterward from their fresh and inventive dishes. Here are my go-to orders: Hamachi tartar — such a good refreshing appetizer and really good value for the price! Orange ball — such an interesting flavor added with the orange slices on the bottom! Rosemary roll — the shrimp inside was fried to perfection and goes well with a sweet sauce

For a Girls Night Out, a bunch of us met here for dinner and decided to order sushi rolls for dinner. Fortunately, one of the gals had been here previously and knew there was an area to accommodate our group, but the long table made it impossible to connect with others unless you physically moved around. Additionally, the service was patient and attentive and the atmosphere was hip. Here’s what we had: Bay Love Roll — nice sauce on top Four Seasons Roll Orange Ball — tasty poke-like center Big Daddy Roll — the bonita flake topping added a flavor boost Phat Joe Roll Rosemary Roll Heart of Fire Roll Although each roll looked absolutely beautiful, I’d have to give most of the rolls only three stars because they lacked flavor. Would I return? Probably not on my own.

Sultry remixed Sam Smith and Hozier playing loud? Dimmed lights? THISPLACESCREAMSDATENIGHT! Or…if you’re hungry after/before shopping at Valley Fair/Santana Row, this could be your spot too! Came here for early dinner on a Saturday and was pleasantly surprised. Don’t be put off by the exterior – sure the Santa Clara Billiards are shady AF and Omee. J is juxtaposed with a dive bar and some other shady looking establishments, but once you walk in it’s all glamor and smoooooooooth tunes. If you’re looking for a traditional«irrashaimase» Japanese place, walk out the door. This is an Americanized-Korean version of sushi rolls with a twist of modernity and creativity in their menu items. I am in love with their fried sushi rice! Decided to get that appetizer on a whim, and we both couldn’t stop eating it. We also loved the freshness and buttery-smooth rolls. The one thing we noticed was that their raw fish portions were very thin. Compared to our other favorite sushi place(SenDai in Milpitas), Omee. J doesn’t pack on the raw fish… but they make it up with creativity and presentation. I will be back! This is the first time a «hip» Japanese food place has got me raving so hard about it. Just arrive before 7PM to avoid the wait.
