I had the cheesesteak and it was very tasty; although there was more peppers and onion than meat for $ 10 sandwich. The bread was fresh. The curly fries were good too. Very cute diner with a local neighborhood feel. The waitress was very friendly and there were a lot of regulars.

There is something about Sara’s Kitchen that makes locals keep coming to this place! As a local myself, I have been in this place many times that I always forget to check-in(food so good you are thinking of nothing else but the food)! Parking is not bad, just gotta be able to find street parking and do some walking, which is not bad before indulging on some breakfast items! This diner type restaurant is very well known for their breakfast specials such as egg omelettes, but there are many selections such as sandwiches and salads. Honestly though, I would go for the breakfast specials because they are just that good. And being a manly man here, I tend to get the all meat omelette(bacon, ham, and sausage), with hash browns and breads! And the coffee is always served hot, and bottomless haha, so I am always for that! Experience: heck… everything is delicious!

This owner is full of crap. She and her son are very ignorant and racist toward certain individuals. I was treated like I wasn’t worth two cent. This was my first time visiting the little rusty looking café, when I pulled into the parking lot I noticed two vacant spaces on my right side near the entrance. I could not park though so I let the owner know that there are two vacant spaces but they are being blocked by a truck that’s unloading. The owner Sarah told me «Get out of here, I don’t want your kind in here. My venders come first and I don’t care about your business.» I couldn’t believe the words coming out of her mouth and of course I was highly upset. I expressed how I felt and headed towards the door. As I was leaving her adult son came to the door and said«That’s my mom» I expressed that I could care less about who she is. His reply was«If you were a man you’d be laying down on the floor right now.» I was horrified, this experience was horrible. After giving him, his mom and the place a once over(good look) I could tell this restaurant is a scum bucket. The cleaning supplie storage and kitchen are side by side and visible from the front entrance, the eating area looked OK but the food prep and cooking area is filthy. The owner Sarah came to my car and made a face with her thumbs in her ears as if to say nah nah nah nah as I was pulling off. That experience was rediculous. I know the devil hates me but I didn’t expect to run into him here. If you eat here know that the owner is slimy demon possessed and will probably do anything to and with your food. This Place Is A Scum Bucket!

I’ve tried various dishes — hamburgers and benedicts, with fruits or hashbrowns. Never been dissappointed — there are always lots of side/sauce/vegetable ingredients, and the salmon/meat is clearly of high quality. The service is quite prompt, and lines aren’t very long. Make sure to try their orange juice!

The service here is great. It has a very home-y feeling walking in and everyone always greets you and makes small talk so you really feel welcomed here. I love the diner atmosphere and the sports décor. It just makes it feel like a city treasure! I’ve only been here twice but both times were great. Wait times weren’t long when we’ve gone, but this place definitely gets busy! I’ve tried the avocado and bacon Benedict. Need I say more?! Bacon makes everything better. ;) The second time, I tried the meat lovers scramble with potatoes. Yum! Our waitress even asked what our preferred hot sauce was since they had a selection which I thought was cool. Overall, I would recommend Sara’s. It’s a hidden gem where you can feel like home with some hearty food.

I like to try to come here when I’m in town. Today I am running late due to work. I got here after 9am on a Wednesday and the place is near capacity. I was still able to get seated quickly. The place is teaming with older ladies in groups. This place is a real diner. Blue bench seating with checkered blue table cloths. The walls are decorated with sports stuff. I am starved as I have been up since 4 am. Their coffee meet my satisfaction. It is drip coffee and it is good enough that it doesn’t require condiments. I ordered eggs cooked to perfection, very tasty country sausage, crispy hash browns and fruit. The country sausage was so good I had to stop myself from picking up my plate and licking it.

Yum, yum, yum!!! That’s what I got to say about this place! I’ve lived near Sara’s Kitchen for 4 years and my regret was that I didn’t come here sooner. So far I came here about 3 times. First time visit, I had corned beef hash, it was great and meaty, eggs and country potatoes were flavorful. Second visit, I had the chicken apple scramble. Again, great flavor, had a tasty smoked flavor, fruit was sweet and juicy, and potatoes were wonderful like the last time. Third visit, I had the turkey scramble. Same thing!!! It was awesome! I had the pancake on the side this time and that was good too. Every visit, I will be tasting all the bfast selections. I woke up this morning craving to go again. This is my new favorite bfast spot.

I really like Sara’s Kitchen and It’s got SUPERNICE staff and owners. They make you feel at home(almost) and are very fast and efficient and never have any problems altering your order to suit your particular taste. I like their benedict dishes, the cheesesteak sandwich is great, good pancakes and sandwiches, less so the scrambles/omelettes, but it’s my personal preference. lines at the door each weekend speak for themselves.

My boyfriend and I decided to try this place out on a Saturday around noon. The parking lot was full but we were able to find parking on the street easily. The place was packed but they had a table ready so we did not have to wait. I ordered the veggie scramble with country potatoes and my boyfriend ordered the linguica scramble with hash browns. My scramble was nothing special, the veggies seemed overcooked and the plate had a lot of grease. The potatoes were horribly overspiced I couldn’t even eat them. My boyfriend’s scrambled was bland and the hash browns had no flavor. The best thing we had was the buttered wheat toast. This place was disappointing to say the least :(

Only come here if you want to be treated like dirt. We walked in looking to be seated and the hostess told us to get a seat outside in the rudest possible fashion. I asked about several open tables and she said«this section is closed — go sit outside.» Not an ounce of hospitality. I felt like we were the enemy. Cannot understand how this place is in business. Overall: bad experience.

Ordered a Sara’s Cheesesteak — the steak, peppers, and mushrooms were not minced in traditional cheesesteak fashion, but very flavorful and the rough chop has great texture. Unfortunately, my roll was stale. Will definitely be back to try the breakfast at this neighborhood joint.

Delicious food. Friendly, personal service. Great company(from other random breakfast guests… lol). My only complaint: the food was warm, not hot. I would come back again! :)

There is no better place to get a «comfort» breakfast in Santa Clara. Introduce yourself and learn people’s names; you’ll be treated like family in no time. If you come on a weekend, you’ll be happiest if you come between 7 and 8:30 — before the Santa Clara students wake up and take all the seating. :) If you haven’t tried this place, you owe it to yourself to experience it at least once! My wife and I have been coming here at least once or twice a month for nearly 10 years — we have no complaints.

This place was alright. My fiancé and I didn’t have any real intentions of eating here, but when we realized the wait at Bill’s Café was close to an hour, we decided we couldn’t wait that long. which leads us to this place. We immediately got seating because not many people wanted to eat outside on a hot day, so we got seated and got to order as quickly as possible. The waiter approached us and asked we were ready to order, and I said«yes,» and he quickly got his notepad and dropped the extra menus he was holding in front of me. on top of my menu. Hahaha. The space on our table was pretty small, and I couldn’t understand why he couldn’t have just slipped the extra menus he had in between his arm or something? Anyway, pushing those extra menus aside so I can figure out what it was I needed to order… I ended up with a chicken fried steak and my fiancé ordered some sort of omelette. The chicken fried steak tasted like nothing but flour. I mean, it was REALLY flat and crunchy. I think I only took to bites and gave it to my fiancé. He ate the rest with honey. The only think I really enjoyed from my dish were the fruits, hashbrown and eggs over easy.

Came here just to try out a new brunch place besides Bill’s or Mikayla’s. There was no wait when my friend and I came in. The diner looked a bit dirty, but it seemed like there were a lot of regulars that frequented it. I ordered the Country Benedict with hash browns, it was okay, but the gravy was a little bland. I should’ve gotten the homefries, because I tried my friends and they were good! Overall, it was a good experience and I want to come back to try their cheesesteaks!

I am always on the lookout for a good breakfast place in San Jose. I had not stumbled across this one before, but it looked good. My death row meal is a cheese steak sandiwch, But the wedding is in 3 weeks and I am sworn off carbs, so this place has a Cheese steak OMELET. wahoo! We spilt the omelet(a cheese steak omelet with Mushrooms and avocado). ordered it with Home fries(no carbs in home fries right?) and an english muffin. It was good, but certianly not nearly as satisfying as a sandwich. I was a bit annoyed that they brought out the english muffin about 6 min before the meal(I like them together). When we got there we were told a 30– 40 min wait, but it was only about 20 mins. Nice family-owned business, the server was very pleasant and wasn’t annoyed we were just spilting one thing on a busy Sunday. I did spy some bluberry pancakes at the next table — glad I didn’t get them b/c they had very few blueberries in them.

Tasty omelettes & scrambles, I like how you can substitute toast for fruit with no extra charge. Some healthy options like the vegetable scramble are really good, I loved the hash browns. My friend got pancakes and they were normal, kind of bland without syrup but not bad! I would probably not get those again just because it doesn’t seem to be something they specialize in. The inside was really stuffy so I’m glad I sat outside but it was kind of weird/scary having people drive up to your table while you’re sitting and trying to have a nice conversation, kept me on edge a bit haha.

Sara’s is a brunch place I would try to go back to for the sake of possibly dining inside. First time we dropped by we sat outside since they were busy. I had the home made corn beef hash with a side of fresh fruits included. The outside seating is not bad but it’s an area where the parking lot is as well. They put up a few big umbrellas to shade you from the sun. Very thoughtful. Food was tasty. Service was friendly and fast. Worth another visit and more!
