If you plan on seeing a movie nearby and are looking for a place to eat before going, then this might be an OK to place to eat at if you’re really hungry. If you get the dinner portion, you’ll get a lot of food! Before attending my meetup group, I came here to have dinner and I ordered the chicken curry. It came with rice, two large pieces of naan bread, a small bowl of some mixed vegetable curry, and a small side of cucumber salad. This is a serve yourself kind of place. They do bring the food to the table when it’s ready though. Since I didn’t think that the portion would be that big, I also ordered some potato samosas. The samosas came with a bunch of chickpeas in some tomato sauce. I didn’t eat most of the bread or any of the beans or much of the veggie curry. Everything was just OK. The samosas were good though. The mint sauce was really good and I put a lot of it on the rice and samosas! The chicken curry wasn’t that spicy. This place is moderately priced and the food comes out fairly fast. The only other place to eat around the area that is really good and inexpensive is In-N-Out burger in the corner of the shopping center. Most of the other places aren’t that great. Trust me on this as I’ve been to all of them!

Not the best price performance value for your money. Now I like that I can get lamb korma and seekh kabob and it’s quick. They dont dumb down the spice too much either. But That app and the entrée was well into the $ 20 range and I was still itching to eat something else. My co workers tikka masala was tragically small. Definitely dont go here super hungry!

My Rating: 4.0($ 8 — $ 14/person) Favorites: Wraps In all fairness, the food here deserves a rating of slightly over 3 stars. It doesn’t wow me but doesn’t disappoint. That being said, Tandoori Oven scored extra points with me for having a friendly staff and being clean, especially in comparison with other Indian restaurants. When it comes to the food, you’ll find all your standard Indian favorites here, including Saag Paneer and other Tandoori curries. But the more exciting food is found in their Indian fusion menus, which includes burgers, wraps and salads. I can personally attest that the wraps are of a good size and come with a side of potato salad. I didn’t enjoy the side salad very much due to its ‘mashed’ nature and weird seasoning flavor. However, the wrap itself was satisfying and perfect for a working lunch. In all, Tandoori Oven works well as a quick and casual place to satisfy your Indian food(especially North Indian) cravings.

I didn’t enjoy the food and I paid 17 bucks for a really small portion of chicken. I did take away and I didn’t check what is in the fancy box when I open the box I get angry because I paid good money and I am still hungry!

A few GOOD things going for them: –the food comes out right away. You order from the counter and then it gets served to you(although this bothers me a little bit because the same guy handling your money is also serving and bussing you) –Good Naan. –Lamb curry and Tikka Masla are good. Great to have with naan The BAD: –rice wasn’t fresh. It was a bit hard. –Tikka’s favorite is not Tikka Masala but tandoori chicken. It was a little dry.

You don’t get for what you pay for! Went there for lunch the other day. It’s in the AMC complex and parking wasn’t too bad. The restaurant was quite and I ordered a lamb dinner combo because it had naan and rice. The price was 14 $ and I was expecting some good stuff. The 1st disappointment was when I found out they didn’t have complimentary chai, even the cheapest of indian places I went to like Shan has that. My coworkers had to pay like 2 $ for it. Then came the food, it was OK but definitely not was I was expecting for 14 in both quality and quantity. I left that place with a sensation of emptiness in both my stomach and wallet.

5÷30÷13: Went to the hotel desk and asked where I could find good Indian food: they printed a Unilocal review of all the Indian restaurants in the area and we read the reviews. This one was closest to our hotel so my editor and I piled into my car and drove here. We didn’t have much in the way of expectations so when we tried the food, we were very pleasantly amazed by this restaurant — more of a fast food place than anything, I guess, but the food was excellent, the portions generous, and the value high for the very reasonable prices. We had(and shared) our chicken curry, chicken tikka masala, two different types of samosas, naan, and a rice dish — both having mango lassis. The person who took our order brought out a variety of things for us to try — and they were delicious! I think it was chicken tandoori; Punjabi chicken curry; and one other chicken dish that I’ll include if I remember the name. Very nice people, excellent food, great service, and an exceptional bargain in food prices! I know, I know: do I ever eat anything but chicken curry or chicken tikka masala? Yes, I do, but my taste buds can accurately determine whether I’m going to return to a restaurant by the second(if not the first) bite of my entrée — and I will be coming back here!

We were very excited to see some new variety in the Mercado plaza with the addition of Tandoori Oven. The ambiance is casual and the food comes out fast. We went with the Chicken Tikka and the Chicken Tikka Masala. The food was tasty albeit a tad salty. Both of the chicken dishes were tender and moist but the Chicken Tikka Masala portion was quite small. The dishes came with an abundance of rice and some crispy warm naan.

Solid lineup of Americanized curries. When I’m too lazy to hit up the millions of Indian restaurants in Sunnyvale, this is where I’ll grab a quick bite. Sometimes the service is meh, and the portions of curry are kind of small, but for what you get at the price it’s A-OK when you don’t feel like fully committing to a lunch buffet.

I’ve been to the Tandoori Oven in Campbell and San Jose and this one is ICK! $ 13 for a itty bitty naan wrap with pink dry chew chew chewy *cough cough* chicken. No, thank you. $ 3 for a nice fat juicy In & Out burger in the same parking lot. Yes, pretty please.

I did not enjoy this restaurant at all. I wanted to go here because I saw their menu and they had tandoori wraps! I invited my roommates and each of us ordered a wrap. However I couldn’t believe how small the wraps were. Also the quality of the chicken wasn’t that good, it wasn’t cooked like true tandoori chicken. That was really disappointing. Also after eating each of us didn’t feel that well. My two other roommates had diarrhea the next morning. We’re pretty sure it was something in the food. I will not be going back here again. It was a huge disappointment.

Smells like authentic indian chow the moment you walk in. Recommend the paneer masala, mixed grill and mango lassi. The fish was especially well flavored! Great for a pre-movie meal as it is across from amc!

Was here for lunch today and had the worst Tandoori Chicken ever.(Angry Chicken). I think they named it that was, because you will take one bite and get angry. Problem was not that it was tasteless and full of color. ITWASSTALE. I took one bite and it was smelling so bad that I was scared that I will get sick of eating it. PLEASEDONOTSELLSTALEMEAT, ITCANGETPEOPLESICKANDCANCAUSEFOODPOISING. Will not go back here ever.

Came for dinner and ordered a Chicken Vindaloo entrée & an Aloo Tikki appe. The Aloo Tikki was great, potato pancakes with the garbanzo beans. Came out nice and crispy. The Chicken Vindaloo came with basmati rice, cucumbers, and some kind of small soup? We switched out our normal naan for garlic naan. The curry itself was very tasty, creamy & just the right amount of heat. The rice was a bit dry, and the cucumbers were bland(they were just chopped cucumbers). The soup of sorts was lukewarm/borderline cold, only had a couple bites of it. Lastly the Garlic Naan was pretty good though it was most likely pre-cooked and just heated up so it wasn’t as fresh as I expected it to be. All together everything was pretty expensive for the quality & quantity of the food. The dishes were most likely heated to order so food wasn’t as fresh as expected. I would recommend trying the Aloo Tikki for sure.

Yuck! If this appropriate. Warning: my first time here, but I know a good restaurant when I see one and this is not it! Before movie date night, my husband and I decided to try this place out last night. Wrong idea! I ordered chicken tikka masala, which was bland, dry meat, which looked a little dark in color, and the chicken tasted old. I fumbled around with it, only to have lost my appetite, because of the rice that came with my meal was dry and hard?! What? Hard rice? Which was left about from who knows how many days? How dare a restaurant give me old food? I can do that at home with old rice from my fridge. But I went out for dinner, to expect a freshly cooked meal. But like the guy said, it’ll take only three minutes. Which I should’ve expected cause he basically warmed up old food and gave it to me. This came with a veggie dish which was disgusting and might I add, I love Raita with my Indian food, and the raita even tasted old. !!! It had a smell to it, and was also disgusting. What’s going on here.? This place is absolutely ridiculous. Worst experience ever!

An Indian fast food chain that just got it right. This restaurant is well-staffed, friendly, clean, and food tastes great! The joint offers multiple types of specials(happy hour + student discount), AND opens fairly late! The have the recipe for success! The naan is very fresh and delicious, very highly recommended. Chicken Saab and chicken tikki masala is another must… but then again so is the grilled meat platter… and the mango lassi… …did i mention they have happy hour for Indian beer?(still have yet to try this) Prices are very decent and it’s a great place to go while waiting around for a movie to start or even after a movie…

Like a few others who wrote reviews, I didn’t have very high expectations when walking in, considering that this is a «fast food» Indian place, but was PLEASANTLY surprised when I came here with a friend this past week. My friend and I always meet at the Mercado center as it is halfway between our offices. We were originally planning to go to Tomatina’s for a quick dinner, but saw tandoori oven next door. My friend was craving Indian food so we gave it a try– and loved it! The portions are generous which makes the price very reasonable. I had a chicken wrap which was tasty and filled me up. My friend had the chicken salad and samosas and she loved both as well. This place is great if you are looking for a quick and tasty bite. We will definitely be coming back again :)

Had the lowest of low expectations for this restaurant. Not because of anything I’ve heard, but because I figured since it was in an AMC plaza with chains surrounding it, it would be a bland, fusioned out mess. My husband bought a groupon so we decided to finally try it. Imagine my surprise after taking one bite out of the seekh kabab! Totally authentic taste. The biryani was also great. The portions are quite big, so we ended packing an entrée. The employee at the register that day was extremely nice. I wish I had taken her name, so I could mention her here for service. This will most likely be a pit stop from now on, before or after catching a movie at the nearby AMC!

After watching Skyfall, we were numb from the violence and hungry for something spicy. Sound like an oxymoron? And across the parking lot from the AMC Mercado theater are a variety of restaurants: Mexi, Italian or Indian. This place is pretty cool for an Indian fast food restaurant; as soon as you walk in the soft colors immediately put you at ease. The furniture is comfortable and clean. Modern décor and hip dangling lights mix with Indian beats to take you back… We ordered the Lamb Dopiazo, Chicken Tikka Masala dinner and the Fish Curry dinner. Each dinner comes with your choice of one 12 inch Naan or Garlic Naan, and your main entrée: a smallish tin of super flavorful food. About $ 12.00 each. I liked almost everything about this place, from the store layout to the quality of the food, except the portion size of the main entrée. If you are a tiny eater, then you’ll be fine.
