I’ve lived in SCV for almost 20 years and only been eating here for the last 5yrs… can’t believe how much time I’ve missed out on some amazing Mexican food! I have yet to have a bad meal or bad experience at either of their locations. Sometimes during the evening or lunch time you may have to wait, but that’s the price for good food.

Food is excellent, service is great, and margaritas hit the spot. We’ve just started going to this place, but we already know we’re going to keep coming back. Yummy!

The first time I ate here a few years ago I wasn’t impressed, but last night I decided to give it another go and I was happy I did! The margaritas were reasonably priced, the food was great, and the service was great as well. Now I really wish that our first visit hadn’t been subpar, this place is so close to my house, and I feel like I’ve been missing out for years!

I have eaten here several times, and the food has always been up to par for me and my family… like it because food is always freshly prepared and doesn’t taste like the«chain restaurants.» The margaritas are also refreshing and contain plenty of tequila. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. …enjoy!

Only the service and margaritas to compliment. Please improve the serving size so I don’t feel like I got ripped off. Vallarta for me now.

STAYAWAYFROMTHISRESTAURANTIFYOU’RELOOKINGFORAUTHENTICMEXICANFOOD! I should had known better when I asked the waiter for an Horchata and he said they did not serve it, nor jamaica! I proceeded to get the burrito with carne asada, beans and rice. The carne asada was bland, the beans seem like they came straight from a can and the rice was undercooked. My wife ordered the fajitas, which was not any better. Everything was drenched in excessive oil. If you’re into Taco Bell like food, this is the place for you. If you’re looking for savory Mexican food, don’t even bother with this place. I have never written a review on Unilocal before and I use the app all the time, but after eating at this place, I felt ripped off!!!

We’re always on the lookout for good Mexican restaurants in Santa Clarita. This one came highly recommended, and our real test of greatness first starts with the chips & salsa… fair. When the entire family are of the opinion that it just doesn’t quite make the grade, we can’t all be wrong. The search continues.

Ehhh I don’t know if I would give it 4 stars more like 3.5STARS! This place is good but I’ve had better. 1st off their chips and salsa are so so sooo good. I seriously couldn’t stop eating them, it was really good! The guacamole is not worth the money, I didn’t like it at all it wasn’t flavorful and I feel like it was a waste of money. I like they they offer really big portions and that soup is included in your meal depending on what entrée you get. The chicken tortilla soup was good however it was garnished heavily in a big old chunk of shredded cheese, too much cheese if you ask me. The chicken tacos were good but I felt it could have been a little more flavorful, just add the salsa and it should give it that flavor your looking for but they stuff it with so much lettuce and cheese. I asked for cilantro and they literally put a whole bushel of chopped cilantro in there, I didn’t want that much but I paid an additional $.75 to add cilantro. The interior and service of this place is good and very good. Our server was very friendly, they even sing Happy Birthday to you and they had put a sombrero on this kid it was really cute and fun. All in all a good spot!

A place like this became a family establishment in the neighborhood long ago but it is simply bad gringo food, it’s subpar Mexican food at best. Shame on them. I get that many people have grown up with La Cocina since childhood but that doesn’t mean that they are eating good quality Mexican food… The expensive alcohol is the main draw of this place, I believe… Then a short drive home with the kids!

I’m bummed because I used to love this restaurant and thought their food was so yummy; and when the allegations came out about it being infested I just could not step foot in there again. Looking forward to the new La Cocina opening up in Canyon Country.

I love this place! Awesome service :) I always come here with my boyfriend and sometimes with his family too. The workers are all so nice and give you a warm greeting :) I love their margaritas!!! It’s the best. Their food is always so good and authentic. It gives you that home cooked meal feel. You feel like you’re eating at your grandmas house! Haha. This place never disappoints me whenever I want good Mexican food. I’ll be coming back again and again for sure! :)

I love margaritas! And who the heck could pass up $ 3.75 margaritas during happy hour?! I called in advance to make sure there was happy hour going on and there was from 4 – 7, which was the perfect time. My best friend and I went and it was extremely crowded, but luckily we found a spot at the bar quickly. The waiters brought us free chips and salsa and I ordered a blended margarita and my friend ordered a corona on tap. The margarita could have definitely been made a lot better. It wasn’t blended enough and the run was barely salted. They didn’t even add a line to the glass. These don’t seem important, but honestly these are the basic necessities one needs to really enjoy a margarita. I guess there isn’t much you can expect from such a low prices drink. As for the beer, you definitely can’t go wrong with corona on tap for $ 3.75 and the glass was huge. You really can’t go wrong with such a good prices happy hour. I would definitely recommend coming.

I wanted to like this place so much… yet again another Mexican restaurant in the Santa Clarita Valley that has good reviews that sucks! Not coming back! Stop it people, this place is worse than Welic, which I think sucks a bit less. I’m giving it two stars, only because my wife liked her Mole and my oldest son liked his Flautas,(you can’t mess up anything fried). The Albondigas soup was good, I’ll give you that. My youngest son’s bean and cheese burrito lacked flavor, no cheese taste. He complained how it lacked flavor, he’s 8… My middle son had the steak tacos, they should be called lettuce and cheese tacos, where was the steak. I got the Carnitas plate which is one of the house specialties. Total disappointment, the carnitas was luke warm, lacked seasoning, and too dry! It comes with rice which is as equally dry and you can tell the plate was sitting under a heat lamp as the beans had that dry look. Mario Gonzales, our waiter had no personality and was just doing his job. I told him about the carnitas, he asked with no compassion if I wanted another plate, no apology of any sort. I decided not to waste my money on another plate. I munched on the other plates thinking of Salsa and Beer restaurant in Reseda. Salsa and Beer, please open a place in Santa Clarita!!! «Just keepin’ it real(La Co)» The Real Foodie

La Cocina is a staple here in Santa Clarita. Known for their yummy Mexican food, bomb margaritas, and long waits, La Cocina is popular with the town for a reason. As usual with any popular place, Friday and Saturday nights are the busiest so expect at least an hour wait if you don’t call ahead. That said, they’ve got a bar area where you can order a drink while you wait for your table. They’ll even give you their signature chips and salsa too! This place is great not merely for the food and drinks, but also for the excellent service. Waiters and bartenders are constantly coming by to make sure you’ve got everything you need, and everyone is friendly. Expect to be called beautiful at least once by a server. The meal ends with a check and lollipops. This is my go to meet up place with my friends, there’s something for everyone here. What more could you ask for?
