I am an adult amateur dressage rider/horse owner and have been at Silver Gate for about three years now. I had never ridden dressage until I was introduced to Julie. She is an excellent trainer and rider, not to mention a wealth of knowledge about horses and their care, proper riding, equipment, horse shows and everything else related to this sport. I purchased my own horse this past year wirh Julie’s help and guidance. She has an excellent eye for both rider and horse, all of which are quite obviously her second nature. I am so glad to have found Silver Gate and Julie. I would recommend this barn to both adults and youth for lessons, not to mention as an excellent place to board horse (s). The ranch is well cared for, as are the horses, and Julie and her staff are first rate.

My daughter has been there almost a year and we couldn’t be happier. This place has such a positive vibe and professionally run. It is organized and you have complete confidence in Julie and her staff. We were previously at a «back yard barn» learning to ride. Where the trainer was extremely distracted or taking phone calls while in the lesson. Silver gate is run like a precision machine. Everyone on staff knows the schedule and you arrive to find your horse ready and 100% attention of your trainer. My daughter responded so well to Julie’s positive and enthusiastic teaching style but Julie has always remained calm, compassionate and professional. If I could give this place 100 stars I would. There is just no comparison to the professional and exceptional training you would receive here.

I moved my horse to Silver Gate Farms last summer, and I am so grateful to have found such a perfect place for him AND me. Julie Van Loo is a caring horse-lover with a teaching style that is both professional and fun. I am training in dressage, and we are making so much progress! The care my horse receives is top-notch, and the other students are kind and supportive. I highly recommend Silver Gate!

Silver Gate Farms is an amazing little horse ranch and training facility hidden in the hills of Santa Clarita, If you ever drive Bouquet Cyn far enough for the homes to stop and the country to start you might just see this gem off the side of the road. This family owned and operated ranch has been here since the 80’s.
This family has been the trainers and winners of local, state and national champions
If you have ever dreamed of english style riding you should stop in. You wont regret it.
