This was more of afterthought during my NoCal vegan & brew tour. Traffic was nasty on the 5 so we thought of going to the nearest brewpub. Gotta say that Wolf Creek has one of the best happy hours in the brewpub business(Mondays all-day & until 5:30pm on weekdays). Got myself two pints of hefeweizen and a personal margarita pizza for $ 15. You’re lucky to get a pint of piss & a bread roll anywhere else for that price. All their beers are between average and slightly above average, so if you’re a hardcore brewhead, the sky will not open, angels will not sing. But if you’re looking to have a great time while the 5 freeway clears up, Wolf Creek is for you. Cheers!

I have been wanting to try Wolf Creek for a long time because friends have had good things to say about it. Last week my mother was visiting from out of town so I decided to invite my mom and my mother-in-law and the three of us made a girls lunch trip to try it out. We arrived around one in the afternoon and because the main dining area was fairly busy we were seated off to the side. We were the only ones in that section. Right away we noticed a large mess on the floor right where we were being seated. My mother-in-law asked about the mess and the hostess said«we just had a baby there,» as we had to step over the mess to get to our table. Not very safe. Our drink orders were taken and my mom asked for a tea with sugar on the side. The tea came but the sugar never did. We asked once, and I guess because the main area was so busy and we were the only ones off to the side we were forgotten. About 10 minutes later and not able to get anyone’s attention she had to get up, carefully step over the mess again and walk to the front to ask. The manager bruskly told her to go sit down and it will be brought to her. Twice he said this, loudly so we could hear in the other room. He was rude and seemed annoyed at her, scolding even. Several minutes later it arrived and our meal order was also taken. It was at this time that the mess next to our table on the floor was finally cleaned up. When our food finally arrived the fish sticks were just ok and the burger was good. However the beef sandwich was dry and tough and my mother-in-law mentioned that when the waitress returned to ask how everything was. She had a hard time chewing it. The waitress was very apologetic and offered to take it back but at this time we were here for so long it just wasn’t worth it. She offered us a dessert card for our next visit, but to be honest I do not intend to go back nor will I recommend this restaurant to any one I know. Our waitress was the only one there interested in our experience which is why we left a tip for her, but the rest of the staff including the manager was less than concerned and even rude. I was so enthusiastic to my lunch guests about giving it a try but because of how we were treated I am embarrassed that I brought my family there.

Quite possibly the worst restaurant and bar in SCV… I’ve been a regular patron for over 15 yrs, but now it’s beyond bad. Their cooks have no idea how to properly and safely prepare food to temperature; their menu offers less options and quality meats for the same price as several years ago; and the ambiance and décor screams 1994(never been renovated)… You«V» people are getting duped big time! And WCR needs to a get a clue and quick before all they are is a second rate brewery in town.

I’m local and have observed that this place never lacks customers, so l figured it must be good. Honestly the food is only okay, wine selection is so-so. The olive tapenade is tasty – their version is creamy. Basically this place is a dive and people like coming here because it’s a «decent» local eatery within walking distance. The ambiance is not to my liking. It’s like a cave inside – dark and a little dank. Pick the patio seating if it’s not too hot outside. The best reason to eat here are the desserts, which are made by Meghan I believe. Her upside down banana cake with pecan topping was a revelation. My husband and I have tried the chocolate mousse brownie, lemon tart, and carrot cake as well. They were all great. We’d love to try the bread pudding, but you never know what she’ll make that day so we’ll just have to be lucky and visit on the right day I guess. Otherwise, the service is always friendly.

This place is over-rated. The beer is awful as well as the food. We tried beer samplers a total of 10 different varieties. Naaaaah!!! Never again. My wife and I with 2 beer drinking friends were there for dinner. Service is very slow. Our server looks very tired, probably spread thin, overworked for the day. The place is noisy. Food? Nothing to write home about.

I have several friends who love Wolf Creek. We’d been a couple of times and I was never terribly impressed… maybe I just wasn’t ordering the right thing. So we tried again. It was a bad idea. THEGOOD Our server was very good, cared, personable, prompt. French onion soup was OK. Hardly any cheese(had to ask for more) French bread was warm and very good(though the butter was ICE cold… why??) THEBAD My fish and chips had no flavor whatsoever. NONE. It was like eating a paper napkin. The fish was flavorless. The batter was flavorless. My wife tried it and fully agreed. Really weird. ZERO flavor.(How do you even do that?) Her Caprese sandwich was very bland. A piece of buffalo mozzarella with a small piece of tomato and one paper-thin(I am not exaggerating) piece of grilled eggplant. Seriously? Yes, seriously. A small, paper-thin slice of eggplant. It was a joke. We were not angry nor upset, just very disappointed(and still hungry), so I asked for a manager because they needed to know about this. A manager came over and I introduced myself, explained that I have friends and family who own restaurants and I know how important it is for management to know when something is wrong– otherwise customers just won’t come back and they’ll lose business. I politely explained how poor our meal was, and how surprised we were, as we have friends who like the place. We showed him a piece of the paper-thin eggplant and suggested that was a bit ridiculous. I had barely touched my food and explained how the fish and chips had no taste at all, which my wife confirmed. He said he’d look into it and talk with the head chef. Then he looked at our plates and said to me, «Because you didn’t eat much of yours, I’ll comp your meal.» But not my wife’s. He didn’t offer me anything else to eat… no offer of a free dessert or anything… stunningly didn’t offer to comp my wife’s poor meal. Now, before anyone thinks I was simply trying to get a free meal, that was NOT my intent at all and I think that was obvious. I eat out often, and we went to Wolf Creek on a Sunday afternoon because we were hungry and wanted a decent meal. What we got were two bad meals, one of which was hardly touched, and a manager too cheap to want our business by offering us something else to eat, an offer for another meal in the future, or taking care of our tab(which was only around $ 25.) DEARMANAGER, Here’s how this should work: If a polite, respectful, nicely-dressed middle-aged couple wants you to know that they had a poor dining experience, you don’t need to fall all over yourself apologizing, but if you ever want their business again and do NOT want bad reviews and bad word-of-mouth, do the following: Sincerely apologize Take them seriously ACT like you agree with them OFFER them something else to eat Comp BOTH their meals Offer them a free dessert, or a coupon for a future meal THANK them for letting you know so this won’t happen again That didn’t happen. We will not be back. Thus, this review. (NOTE: to the credit of our server who was very apologetic but did not have the authority to comp our meals, she gave us a free dessert. It was a white chocolate lemon coconut layer cake made by their baker who is supposedly known for terrific desserts. It too had very little flavor whatsoever… was dry, seemed a bit stale, was very cold, the white chocolate frosting had hardly any taste… very sub-par. We didn’t even eat half of it – and I was pretty darn hungry. Like I said, we will not be back. Super-disappointed.)

Second time here and once again disappointed. New pet peeve, waiters who don’t use a notepad thinking they have great memory, I’m sure they don’t but there are busts at times. Came here with a friend on a Saturday night. We ordered a pizza sausage and pepperoni and we ordered a special there were two this night, salmon w shrimp and lobster and crab ravioli with shrimp, we ordered the ravioli, a white sangria and a red sangria,. The sangria was a-okay tasted a lot like orange juice. Later the waitress brought out our pizza and a salmon dish. We told her we didn’t order the salmon that we ordered the ravioli, she apologized and took fault for it, fine. She said it would take a while since they made the ravioli fresh. Finally the ravioli came out, I could just tell that it was not going to be good; a the shrimp was over cooked, I could tell by the shrinkage and the sauce was like chalk water… eeek! Sure enough… crappy over cooked shrimp, chewy and dry and the ravioli sauce… disgusting with no flavor and so watery. shouldn’t it be creamy? It was not good. at. all! We just had two raviolis each and a shrimp. Here is the shocker… I’ve had Lobster Ravoili… in vodka sauce in much nicer locations… Ventura at Café Fiore $ 19… Ojai at OMG $ 18, both have tasted AMAZINGGGGGG! So Good that I’ve driven more than once to those locations. Santa Clarita is a beautiful place, but this is a strip mall location… no judgmental here, but damnnnn 26 F$*&ing dollars!!! I swear I wouldn’t have minded, had the ravioli been out of this world but it wasn’t, it was disgusting. It tasted bad, was freaking expensive and it was beyond late. We did however get dessert, no not our own dessert, one to share… I am still crying over those $ 26! I could have had a way better dinner with that money else where, I knew we should have gone to Buffalo Wild Wings. Gave this place another try, only to disappoint again. :(

My aunt had surgery so I called to pick up some lunch to bring to her. I will give this 3 stars because my aunt is a local and L-O-V-E-S this place. I think if I came in and ate here I would have liked it better than I did. I really, really wanted to like this place too. We ordered… -*ASIANSALAD for my Aunt. She ate a lot of it which I’m really glad because she just had surgery so I’m super happy she was hungry enough to eat it. *CAPRESESANDWICH was actually pretty good but because I got it to-go it was soggy. I think if I ate it there I would have eaten the whole thing. SANDWICHESCOMEWITHCAJUNFRIES! I wish they would have let me know this because I ordered an extra side of fries without knowing it. *ROMATOMATO-BASILPIZZA … I did not enjoy this pizza at all and would not recommend it. It was kind of soggy from being to-go and was not super flavorful. *CEASARSALAD was decent but nothing to write home about. *OLIVETAPENADE and BREAD came with the meal. I think it was pretty good but wasn’t like typical tapenade. Next time I’m in the area, I might try another place to get to-go, but all in all this place was just decent. I think that if you ate here it would be better.

We ate at the patio area outside for lunch. A beautiful day and atmosphere nice. Excellent Service. Waitress attentive and knowledgeable. A very enjoyable experience. Olive tapenade is amazing. Complimentary bread is nice and warm, but a bit crusty and chewy. I ordered the lunch half turkey sandwich(with avocado) and house salad. My friends ordered lunch size country fried chicken and bayou chicken. Both were nice sized dishes but overall the menu is a bit pricey. I rate the food at 3 and service a 4.

Their pasta is really good I forgot which one I got but even the leftovers I had warmed up at my house were superb. I didn’t really hear about this place I just drove by and decided to give it a go. The only reason I’m giving it 4 is because the venue isn’t too spacious among a couple other things.

Olive tapenade. Enough said. I could come here just for this. This sauce accompanies the complimentary warm bread before every meal. It has a very noticeable olive flavor within its cold creaminess. My parents and I always have to control ourselves to not ask for a third or fourth helping of the bread and tapenade. I wish I could buy a jar of this and just add it to everything I eat. Just thinking about it makes me drool. I love the Spicy Thai Pasta, served with chicken and sprinkled with toasted almonds and peanuts. It’s a big portion and the creamy sauce and chicken will leave you satisfied. It’s not spicy in my books, but I’m a dare devil when it comes to eating spicy foods. It’s one of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had. The fish and chips are quite good too. The fish filets are beer-battered and you have the option of drizzling some lemon on top. The outside is crispy and the inside is fresh and piping hot. The fries are crispy and fresh too, and when dipped in the tartar sauce, they taste even better. This is a big portion as well. I like that there is seating both inside and outside, allowing us to bring our dog sometimes. Overall, this is a solid place with delicious food and though I’ve never tried, but I presume very yummy beer. It is part brewery after all.

We came here for dinner as a large group from out of town and they executed flawlessly. Beer was good, food was solid(good kids selection), and our server went above and beyond to make our visit a good one. She split up the tabs and did a great job to accommodate all of our party’s requests. Portions were generous and the variety on the menu made everyone happy, from vegetarians to gluten free diners in our group. We’d definitely go back.

I’m actually unimpressed with this place. My husband and I wanted to check it out because my coworkers were raving about it, but it’s average. I’ve gotten the gaucho pizza once, which I actually really like and it got me hooked. The next time we came back because I wanted it again, they had taken it off the menu. I tried thd blackened chicken pasta because that is what a lot of people recommend, but it was so bland for a dish that is supposed to be cajun, not spicy enough and they only give a few pieces of chicken. The tacos are passable at most. Beer selection is also kind of weak.

Inside is a rustic, folksy, homey interior that could be in Shreveport, Louisiana with all styles of seating in high chairs & counter or high tables as well as one wall lined w/banquet, table chair combination. A lot of warm wood & contrasting green copper patina color makes for an easy on the eye, eye pleasing environment. There is outside covered patio seating w/faux marble top tables & comfortable metal chairs where you can peer at the changing colors of sunset. The menu here is somewhat the standard«corporatized» menu where there is pasta, pizza, burgers, sandwiches, salads, but there are some whiffs of world cuisine such as Poke(pokeh)/Hawaiian style Sashimi, taquitos, hummus(whom moose), babaganouj from the Levant/eastern Mediterranean. Even their complimentary dip for the oven warmed French baguette, which is a bit crisp on the crust & warm, chewy inside, is a modified Tapenade/finely chopped cured olives w/what seems to be mostly sour cream base. For those into County Fair food, there is Ale Battered Pickle Chips w/Sriracha Ranch dressing. Whooo Whee! What happened to the fried battered Butter? I ordered the«Bayou Chicken ~ petit $ 13.50/full $ 17.95 Sautéed chicken with andouille sausage, bell peppers, green onions, and mushrooms in a creamy cajun sauce; served with white rice» The spicy piquancy of the heavy cream sauce may have come from Zatarain Crab & Crawfish Boil Mix which is enriched w/chile pepper, warm spices such as all spice, cloves; garlic, black pepper, rosemary, thyme, etc. Their Andouille(ahn doo ee) sausage is rather good having a robust porkiness w/a rough grind, good hot spices. The chicken breast was a bit dry, fibrous & not marinated to soften & moisten the meat… looking like standard chicken strips, but the sauce made up for it, if you cut up the chicken into small pieces to soak up the crème sauce. Paired the Deperado IPA beer w/lots of tongue cleansing bitter hops & higher alcohol. Kind of meaty in texture w/a slight«skunkiness» that worked w/the rich, thick cream & the heavy piquant spices. Caveat Emptor: My only observation is that the Bayou Chicken is extremely high in calories as well as LDL cholesterol. The portions are generously large so I took over ½ of it home. When I warmed the Bayou Chicken up the next day, I noticed a good amount of red tinged fat pooled on the bottom of the plate which I soaked up w/a paper napkin. This is analogous to Fettucine Alfredo which again is overly rich in calories & cholesterol. I do enjoy this dish, but perhaps at most once a year. I wish that Wolf Creek could have a listing of calories &LDL cholesterol for each dish so we can make more intelligent choices in optimizing taste & healthfulness. 3+ Unilocal stars for a good tasting meal.

We first went here the day we moved into Valencia — that was December 30, 1998. Our impression? Great service, OK beer and terrible food. We swore we would never be back. Our daughter was looking to try something different so I thought, things must have improved over the last 17 years, 2 months and 11 days. My thoughts after last night? Great service, OK beer and terrible food. The chicken in my tacos was dry and lacked any flavors. Not to mention the ratio of «filler» to protein was 90⁄10. My daughter, halfway through her quesadilla asked why I brought her here. She then proceeded to text a picture of her«terrible dinner» to her friends. Or was that Instagram? Regardless, she hated it too. It’s now official that the residents of SCV have amazingly low standards for what is considered good food. Before you attempt to disagree I have two words for you — Café Melisse — which should have been our legendary restaurant but never made it. As Mike D said back in 2007 «keep driving.» Fool me once? Shame on you. Fool me twice? Shame on me. Trust me, there won’t be a third time.

We sure miss the Calabasas location. When in the Valencia area some months ago, we thought we’d try the original restaurant. Sadly for us, nothing like the version out west. The interior is dark and cramped compared to the newer one which closed. The food quality was not up to par with what we’d become accustomed to, either. It felt old and tired instead of fresh and fun for the taste buds. The calamari appetizer was passable, but not remarkable. Turkey and avocado melt was tasty, but overpriced at $ 12.50. We asked the manager about the Calabasas place. She indicated they’d given it a lot of backing, and while they had good days, overall it wasn’t making enough money to justify staying open. Such a shame! I guess our love affair with Wolf Creek has come to an end due to the failure of the one near us with it’s amazing outdoor patio area(one of the prettiest around) and creative food choices. The Valencia«original» doesn’t live up to the sequel. For us, it’s like they got the locations mixed up.

My fiancé and I frequent breweries, so we decided to stop by Wolf Creek on our drive home from Nor-Cal. We were also hungry, so we decided to go to restaurant location(there is a brewery only location nearby). Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted by very friendly staff members. We sat at the bar area so we could catch some of the Sunday Night Football game over dinner. Our waitress was very attentive and checked on us often. Other staff members also engaged in quicks convos with us throughout our dinner to make sure that we were okay. Customer service at the place is beyond excellent. A+ for sure… We were given their house bread and olive spread. Soooo good — I know the spread consisted of olives amongst other things. Definitely different, yet delicious! I got full before my meal arrived because I kept grubbing on the bread and spread! Ordered a flight of beers. If I’m remembering correctly, it was $ 10 for a flight of 6 in house beers. They also have other craft beers on tap(saw a Stone Brewery tap handle). My personal favorite was their season pumpkin ale. Now onto my meal. I read lots of positive reviews about the pesto salmon on butternut squash. AMAAAAZING! Five ounces of salmon atop a bed of veggies(including asparagus). The pesto was so flavorful and the butternut squash mixed perfectly to create a flavorful taste with each bite! My fiancé loved this dish also… It was a pretty good size as well. I’ll be back for this for sure… My fiancé ordered the flat iron steak, but wasn’t impressed like we were with the pesto salmon on butternut squash. They incorrectly brought out a flat iron sandwich at first, but then brought out his correct flat iron steak order. Due to the mistake and my fiancé having to wait for his meal(I couldn’t wait — I was so hungry), our server comped our flight of tasters. Thank you for acknowledging the mistake and taking the $ 10 off of our tab. We’ll probably be back again when we pass Valencia on our way to or from Northern CA. There are many other items that look pretty tasty and interesting on their menu. I’ll stick to the salmon pesto salad though and hope my fiancé tries other items! Haha its that good!

I came during the weekday for hh and had a chance to look around while waiting for my friend to arrive. It’s a pretty small restaurant, and I noticed that lots of people were there in groups, esp. family. For hh, you can only sit at the bar or at the high tables(so no patio seating for poor us) but almost immediately, the bartender came by to ask what I would like to drink, which was attentive of her since I wasn’t super nearby. I guess for hh, the bartenders are your servers. Almost everything on the menu looks good and although it doesn’t have a separate hh menu or signage, I was verbally told upon asking that hh is 25% of all appetizers and that all the pizzas came in their own hh sizes. We of course got the taos egg rolls, and decided to go with the ale mac n cheese and gaucho pizza. The egg rolls were as good as every Unilocaler promised, though they don’t live up to CPK’s avocado egg rolls. It was a bit flimsy and not as packed, but it was good nonetheless and my favorite order of the three. The ale mac n cheese was good and very cheesy(goat/bleu cheese?) but after a bite or two your senses no longer care and the dish becomes somewhat bland. The pizza was only around $ 5 so that was understandably flimsy as well and had a lot of crust-the type of crust that is neither fat and yummy nor thin crust-type of texture, but it had big chunks of meat on it and I still enjoyed it. However, keep in mind that it is not spicy at all-as advertised. I had to get separate Tapatio sauce to make it somewhat flavored. They also give complimentary bread; the bread was soso but the olive tapenade was some heaven-sent goodness. I ended up eating that with my pizza crust, and ended up finishing all that dough-ey crust. I am dying to know what’s in it-olives, yogurt, lemon, and garlic were what my friend and I came up with. SOMEBODYTELLME! I definitely recommend this place for hh if you’re in the area, as service is great, the bathrooms are decent, and the food is cheap!
