My husband loveshis individually dropped fresh-ground coffee here and there was a choice of beans. Yummy treat too with a goodfellow. Free wifi. AC. Whole leaf tea. Funky atmosphere. What more could you want?

My sister and I stumbled across this place after eating at Vasili’s. Service was meh. We ordered a caramel macchiato with(house made) whip/whipped cream. OMGYUM! Perfect amount of foam, yummy caramel sauce, the right temperature. Awesome! It’s a small store, so don’t plan any large study sessions here.

Stopped in this morning while on a weekend retreat. Being that I am a Java freak and have withdrawals of my favorite coffee house in the bay, I needed to Unilocal and find the local spot. This seemed to take care of the caffeine fix and would have to recommend it to anyone who happens to be in the area and wants to enjoy good coffee. I refuse to give my $$ to the Sbux. Way too over priced and its not all that! Support your local businesses. The entrance to the place was inviting. I had a tall Americano which was piping hot. A little too hot for me about after a few minutes it was pretty yum. I enjoyed my plain bagel with PB while my friend ordered the same drink and a lemon bar. The lemon bar was pretty yum as well. I didn’t ask if they ordered pastries from a local joint or if they baked them inhouse. I love the décor of the place and dig that the prices are reasonable. I’m sure I’ll stop in once again when in the area.

As of 8÷22÷2015, the wifi password is «coffee2015». Unfortunately, they were out of plain and cinnamon raisin bagels, so I couldn’t try those, but they did offer numerous other options. I had a «jump start» coffee, which I did enjoy :)

This place doesn’t boast itself in being all about the atmosphere. No, it focuses on quality coffee. I had a pour over Sumatran that was full bodied and had well-balanced flavor & low acidity. Reasonably priced, too! I think there was only one size and it was 16 oz? After enjoying our cup of coffee, we got a cold brew coffee to-go. That was great, too, especially in 100 degree Santa Cruz weather that weekend! I wouldn’t mind coming back to Coffeetopia or at least telling my friends when they need a recommendation :)

First thing I do when I get to a vacation spot is hit the Unilocal search for coffee shops. Unilocalers rarely let me down! It was middle of the day on my first time in, and pretty hot out, so I got a cold drip coffee– ONTAP! How cool is that? Whoops, no pun intended. I actually think this was my first cold drip coffee, and it was great. Not bitter, and with a splash of milk it didn’t really even need any sweetener. Next time in I got a normal latte, which also was great. The service was a bit slow for the espresso based drinks, but manageable. I wasn’t crazy about them only having one size drinks. But just little nitpicking qualms, and not enough to take away a star.

Good coffee, fair prices. I am a big fan of the breakfast burritos :) staff is generally nice, but sometimes you get the barista that looks and acts extremely hungover but that can be over looked. I recommend stopping by for a cuppa coffee if you’re in town

Coffeetopia is exactly what I look for in a café. It is a well-loved building, warm and slightly noisy atmosphere, like how a home should feel – unlike the utopian-like modernism that plagues all too many places. The baristas were friendly and knowlegeble. I ordered the«green and white» which was a green tea mixed with white chocolate syrup. It was delicious. It had more of a matcha flavor to it than most teas do, but not as bitter as matcha either. It’s a creamy and sweet drink and would definitely order it again. I was told the Mexican hot chocolate was«okay». It may not be the most authentic. I did not taste it myself but then again I do not know what authentic Mexican hot chocolate tastes like. I definitely want to come back some day. It is a very nice place to be.

Best white mocha ever! Their baked goods can be pretty dried out /stale so I wouldn’t recommend it for food but their coffee is delicious!

The iced coffee is so good you don’t even need to put anything in it and it’s in tap!

Very chill. Elvis Presley tunes on a Friday evening and ordered a Mexican Mocha. Nice atmosphere. Tucked away in a small shopping center. For the most part reasonably priced and good to unwind.

Great ambience and helpful staff. Their almond milk drinks burn my tongue every time and take a long time to cool down, not sure if they heat it for to long or what. They do not use an almond milk made for steaming so its thin and tastes like bitter cardboard. I’ve tried some really tasty and rich alt milks but not here.

Just what I needed. Chai with soy was superb. Ginger cookie was spicy and fresh. And the staff were friendly.

This is my first Unilocal review. With that being said, don’t expect it to be eloquently worded. I’m just stoked about good coffee. I drink a lot of coffee. I go to a lot of coffee shops. I always ask for a recommendation the first time, then after that(If I return) i just pick something random. Yesterday I followed my tradition and asked for a recommendation. Not 100% sure what I was given since all I said was«Yes and yes» when asked if I wanted caffeine and chocolate. Whatever it was, it was beautiful AND delicious. There was chocolate whip cream and chocolate curls, and I’ve probably never been this excited about a coffee in my life. The shop itself was cute, clean, and had adorable paintings of pineapples on the wall. Needless to say, it was awesome and you should try it.

Updated review: fantastic and thoughtful owner(see discussion below). I’m very impressed and highly recommend not just this coffeetopia, but all of them! 5 stars is too few. Original review: serves unsustainable farmed Atlantic salmon from Costco. Disappointing for a seaside town like Santa Cruz. Bagel was good.

Coffeetopia(Mission St.) is one of three locations of a locally owned coffee and tea café that’s a favorite of locals. There are a few tables to hang out and the WiFi is free. Credit cards are accepted. Indoor seating only. If you’re down the street at Café Brasil, waiting for your table, it’s only a 10 minute walk to some of the best coffee in the area. Give em a try!

Coffeetopia has a great atmosphere! There is a small coffee shop feel with a big variety of teas and smoothies, along with your favorite coffee/espresso drinks of course. This is one of my favorite places to come study. It has always felt like it is a gem hidden in plain view. I always wonder why it is never crowded here, because the customers are loyal and the college students keep coming back after just one visit. It is kind of a blessing because it keeps the coffee shop undisturbed for those who prefer a quite place vs larger coffee shops. I have to also rave about the service. Everyone who works here must love their job, because they seem to put their all into it as well as giving excellent customer service.

As a college student who lives walking distance away, this cute little coffee shop is the ideal place. I’ve been going to different coffee shops in Santa Cruz to study for a few years now, and they’re often overcrowded with noise and music that distracts you. And then about a year ago I discovered Coffetopia – it’s small, cozy, with a low noise level, and apparently is a hidden gem because there is always space to sit down comfortably! I really hope the rest of my classmates don’t discover it until after I leave. I’ve had their iced coffee multiple times along with the mexican mocha, chai, and raspberry zinger smoothie. They simply have friendly service and good drinks – I’ve never been unsatisfied with what I got. I haven’t tried their bagels or other food items yet, but I plan to and have heard good things. Not to mention they have great, fast wifi and their own computers in the back for customers to use. For coffee in Santa Cruz, I would definitely recommend this place if you want space to chill or catch up with a friend.

I’m so happy to be living so close to this little cute local coffee shop! From the outside, it’s nothing special because it’s located in a plaza among other food places. However, the atmosphere inside is really warm and comforting. Plenty of seating area and a really good place to study! I’ve been here about three times and got their caramel macchiato and mexican mocha. Both were really good, however I definitely prefer their caramel macchiato over everything. I also had a pot of one of their black teas(english breakfast? I don’t really recall.) which was really soothing. They have a generous selection of tea which is always nice aside from the coffee. I haven’t tried their pastries or bagels yet, but they look promising. This is definitely a place I’m going to utilize more this upcoming year while I’m still in school. Free wifi too, also a bonus. There are also computers to use, which I haven’t seen in many coffee shops anymore. I feel this coffee shop gets so little attention because of where it’s located and doesn’t really stand out, but once you come here, keep it your little secret spot.
