Best donut shop in Santa Cruz! Great donuts and super friendly staff. Cute shop. Plus, they have raisin snails which are my favorite.

Big, fluffy donuts! Not too dense or oily. The cinnamon crumb and sugar donuts were amazing! Really fantastic customer service as well. I had the hardest time deciding and they were incredibly patient and helpful :)

Super cute donut shop. Amazing customer service. We were so surprised they had every type of donut still available at 10 am on a Friday. I got the strawberry stuffed glazed and original cronut. Probably the best donuts I’ve had. I will definatly be back if I’m in the Santa Cruz area.

great donuts, super friendly guy. There’s a daily group of old men who chat here about water(yes water, water heaters… that great stuff) but the donuts are quite awesome. Coffee display isn’t anything to brag about but didn’t come here for that. The place inside isn’t the fanciest but that’s not what matters. It’s all about the donuts here. Stop in and grab a bite!

5-stars all the way. This place is awesome and set the standard for donut shops. The donuts are huge. You get your money’s worth here. They are very very good. I think is shop is the best in the area. Nice friendly staff make it enjoyable to oblige them with my business. Good job, Dunlaps. Love all their glazed donuts, maple, jelly, crumb, and specialty donuts. See ya soon.

They serve great coffee, Santa Cruz Coffee Roasting Co. If I’m not mistaken, at the standard price around town. Yummy donuts, but nothing mind blowing. Cheery service. Old fashioned décor. It’s a donut shop, what more do you want?

The new owner’s are doing an excellent job in every respect. They recently added ice cream in a variety of flavors. If you’re new to the community, Dunlap’s is a great place to get acquainted.

I like donuts but I don’t crave it how Gavin craves for it. I generally get him one or a few donut holes once a week. I don’t know about other parents but sugary treats /dessert is not something I give my kid on a daily basis. He knew that since I was working from home on Friday, he did not get his fix. We both woke up early yesterday morning and the first thing he asked was for donuts. It was 6AM. Saw the pictures and excited for the weekend donut specials(the ones topped w/candy). I did not see any Oreo ones but I got the Reese’s PB Cups one and got it. Once it was 11AM, I inhaled half of it. Tracking my macros now and I did not want to put my entire gains just for a donut so that might be my treat later today. Friendly service. Huge donuts. I see donut ice cream. Will try next time!

Tried the new cronuts they were pretty good but not worth $ 3 for a donut! Although the coffee selection was impressive I tried two kinds and they were both horrible in taste and the temperature of the coffee was luke warm!

From all the donut shops I have tried here this is the best one. Not amazing compared to the great ones they have in other cities I’ve lived but a really good donut. Service is nice and friendly too :)

OMG the cronuts are amazing. You need to get there at 9am on the weekends to get your hands on these beauties. Trust me they are worth the wait till Saturday to get them

I previously said it was a little shabby looking inside. It appears the owners have put a lot of work into it, and it is now the opposite of shabby. They really changed it for the better. Nothing has changed about the donuts, still as delicious as ever.

Stopped in to grab some birthday donuts for my daughter. Got there at 6AM and was served right away by a very nice young lady. My daughters loved the donuts; even had a couple left over that they ate the next day. Décor is a little dated, but hey, it’s a donut shop not Alexander’s Steak House!

This used to be my go-to place to grab donuts once a month on our«filthy food» day. They were delicious, the staff was friendly, the place clean, they actually had a variety of donuts and I could use my debit card. I went there this morning and the staff was new and friendly, that was good. The place was clean and they had awesome choices for unneeded calories. I went to make my purchase but THEYNOLONGERACCEPTPLASTIC!!! Oh noes! I was, politely, informed that they have an ATM. That is all fine and good but that ATM cost me money to access my money from the machine as well as my bank. That would make my donuts cost upwards of $ 7 more. No thanks. I can’t tell you how they taste because we had to settle for cruddy 7 – 11 donuts. :(If they are as good as they were last month, I will forgive and forget. I mean, Hey! They used to be cash only and we survived. The thing is, it is 2014. Even vendors at the flea market have a cube and a smart phone! I hope this is temporary. Maybe next month I will change this back to what I consider a solid 4 star, if not 5 star establishment. I will also bring cash, just in case! Also, they are open today. I’m sure there are just some changes happening. They seem to be in a transition of sorts…

The two new owners, Kevin and Aly were both awesome! Both young, and new in the business. Both really laid back and seems to be like really happy hard working couples. Anyways, I came in for coffee and croissant and they came out to be delicious. The price wasn’t bad. Each donuts range only from 90 cents to $ 1.50. Coffees were no less than $ 2.00 for a large. And they have a variety of drinks in the fridges also. I asked them how they liked the place since they just took over just recently. They said that they are going to fix the place and clean up some things there. Which will add a new look to this shop. I’m glad that they have plans with that. Can’t wait to see it. I’ve been sitting down just relaxing on my phone a bit and there seems to be a lot of regulars. Very nice people. A lot of older gentlemen comes in during the morning. Not a bad place to read some newspaper or go on some free wi-fi. Yeah!!! Can’t wait to see this place in a month. Wish you guys the best. And I will be back next time. :)

Ok. I’ve been coming here for coffee for years. Have seen a few ownership changes. There appears to be another ownership change. Recently, a number of times I’ve come and the only coffee available is decaf and either Vanilla or Hazlenut. Make some real coffee please. The thing is, the service and attitude has changed as well. I can get coffee and doughnuts at no less than ten other places on my way to work. You’re making me want to go to another place. I think I have to make a change.

Retro, but seriously old-fashioned. This is not a place for hipsters(well, they can come in, but it is a real – old fashioned donut shop that is not cool and not trendy. It is a place you can get a donut, some coffee, and sit for a while and read or study, or hang out with friends. They have KILLERDONUTS, good coffee(about 8 basic flavors in thermoses) and lots of relatively comfortable seating. Strangely enough they also have purses and other interesting items for sale in the case(not«next to» the donuts – but in a different case. They make everything from scratch on site. I was there at 5 am when they opened and got to see all of the fresh donuts coming out(see pics). They have an interesting, if basic, selection of beverages, and their breakfast sandwiches are HUGE and hand-made. I watched the girl spend 30 minute making them. If you just want a quiet place to hang out and read, or do some work, this is a great spot. Super friendly staff – not especially fluent in English but who cares? They make great donuts, keep the place clean, and leave you alone.
