They have a great selection of donuts. I don’t come that often, but it seems they have different ones every time I come. Very tasty donuts and cheap price. I usually share a box with my rommmates and they go quick in this house.

Fresh donuts anytime of day. Went in for an evening snack and had a great chocolate bar and chocolate milk. Felt like a kid again!

pulled in here 3am to charge our bodies with caffeine and fried dough. the Toot fell asleep and somebody wrote JCB on his arm and may or may not have drawn something obscene on his face. Donuts were great but greater still was the coffee and horoscopes. they were all too true.

Good donut houses are hard to find now with this dieting b.s. and all. Glad Ferrell’s has stuck around and I’ll be back whenever I’m in SC to grab a maple glazed everything.

Homer Simpson would love this place! A delicious assortment of freshly-baked donuts — mmmm, donuts — and some other stuff too. Just don’t go at midnight and expect much to be left over from the day. However, if you get there at about 5:30am, the shelves are packed and still warm. Forget the coffee, just start your day with a sugar high! Oh, and be sure to try the bear claw with the stuff on top!!!

Dirty Place! The employee with the small ponytail that was working New Years night that helped my friend and I was SO rude he acted as if we were annoying him by coming in to buy donuts… Felt very uncomfortable took our donuts to go… Will not return!

Love every thing I have ever sampled here. And I have sampled a variety … Lovely. Fancy cream filled éclair-style donuts are Devine but simpler classics like the blueberry cake donut, or maple bars or even the plain glazed & crullers are superb. Apple fritters may be my favorite . You can mix whatever in your box and they just work out your price — never any hassle. Anything with a hole is $ 1 and a little«extra for fancy ones«.There is Always a patient and polite staff when I have visited. And I am that person that says they want 6, end up getting 8, and 3plain 5 fancy and could you tell me about that one? & I want the 3rd donut in that 2nd row… Yep . Free WiFi brings students to camp out, and the usual beach bum brigade is there in the mornings but I happen to like the neighbors, even though most seem to need a shower. Just all doing our part to conserve water …

Dirty as fuck, but damn delicious. I felt dirtier leaving than going in, but at least I was full of coconut, maple and chocolate deliciousness. Don’t even bother going in the bathroom.

Love that this place is open 24 hrs, and even at night their doughnuts seem fresh. Apple fritters and plain glazed are so good! They never seem to have more then 1 person working so the service can be a little slow and the place itself could use a good cleaning. However once you get passed all that, their snacks are worth a try.

You gotta give stars to any donut place that stays open 24 hours and is located right next to the 17 entrance. Yummy donuts, crappy service though. Man you didn’t have to get so irritated with my questions… I never saw a cronut before okay.

Wow! Now that is a donut! Definitely some of the best donuts I’ve had in a LONG time. The chocolate covered donut was crispy on the outside, which I love, but nice and soft/fresh on the inside. The cream filled donut had a nice, light cream inside instead of a heavy, super-sweet glaze like dunkin donuts or krispy crème. And again, the donut itself was soft and super-fresh. Cheap prices and very large donuts, too. Positives: Fresh, large and really tasty donuts. Cheap. Negatives: Seating area was a bit dirty(didn’t look like they regularly wiped the tables) and the place is old.

Great place to have late night coffee & donuts. It can also be a great place to study. The downside is that it’s kind of sketch at night.

Not much to say. Good donuts, Marianne’s Ice Cream, and open 24 hours! Good place to grab a bite during the day or get that late night munchie fix. There isn’t a lot of seating here, but I’ve still seen people read and study here. It’s one of those places that make Santa Cruz what it is, I’m pretty sure if you asked anyone that lived in the area they would know about Ferrell’s. Sure it’s not the fanciest or most delicious donut place you’ll go to, but it’s definitely still worth a try if you ask me.

Well, the only people here when I came the other morning were the garbage truck drivers! I’m not sure if they were here for ‘take out’ or not! Seriously the WORST most over– priced Donuts I’ve ever seen! They sell the same tones at Safeway around the corner for a third of the price. I had the apple fritter for 1.75! — 50 cents at safeway! And a cup of ‘seattle’s best’ coffee!1 For another buck seventy five! The prices were high. The place was FILTHY! and the food was garbage . Sorry Ferrel’s your not in po– dunk– land! We west coast folks have pretty high standards when it comes to our morning jo and sugar rush! however If you are high and jonesing for some sweets, my suggestion is to go less than a block further and hit the Safeway donut section! At 50cents a donut you can have a ball!

Hella good donuts at a great price. And it’s open 24 hours so that’s a big big plus. Especially if you’re on a mid night adventure…

Have gone on numerous occasions both morning and night. Each time I’ve been lucky enough that they are stocked with what I like, but they don’t necessarily always have every kind readily available. It’s somewhat inconvenient to have cash only, but I guess this is because buying a donut or 2 is under $ 5. I will continue to come here because when they’re fresh, the donuts are awesome!

Open 24 hours, free wifi, with an array of doughnuts on one end of the counter and a line-up of ice cream on the other. Not too much to complain about here. Décor could be improved but perhaps that’s shallow request…

Dat buttermilk twist. Their buttermilk donuts are the bomb. They don’t overbake it, so it’s still fluffy and moist on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside with that glaze. Is this place normally staffed by arrogant teens? Oh yeah. But service is the last thing I come for when I go to Ferrell’s.

I would be predisposed of a somewhat concurring opinion since the shop use to be owned by close relative. I am pleased the new management appended an ice cream bar to the fare of which many Unilocalers suggest aknowledgement. They probably discarded all the old arcade games. I remember being forbidden to play ‘Mortal Kombat’ at the Seven-Eleven next door. At the end of every month, half the sum generated from all machines is given back as dividend. I see they still only accept cash. That hasn’t change. Good fortune to the new owner.

We’d passed by this place a few times on the way to Safeway but never really been in as I try to avoid overly sugary /fatty foods like donuts. However, it was about 2am or so and donuts sounded pretty good. My biggest concern with the place was that it only took cash. I had to actually ask if they didn’t take cards even after seeing all the ‘cash only’ signs because I simply couldn’t believe it. Not only did they not accept cards, there also didn’t appear to be a cash register so I didn’t get a receipt. My other problems where that it was sort of sketchy, with the guy serving us seeming stoned. But I guess that’s what you should expect when buying donuts at 2am in Santa Cruz, heh. Despite the short comings, the donuts where cheap, about eight dollars for half a dozen donuts. Got two apple fritters. two powdered sugar covered custard filled, and two glazed jelly filled. The portion size was generous, especially given the inexpensive cost. The taste was four stars, but the cash only policy and no receipt bothered me to much to give that rating. If I go again I’ll have to try some of the ice cream. If you have spare cash and want good, inexpensive donuts, check it out.
