By far the best coffee in town, and I’ve tried them all. Free wifi and they computers to borrow, for a fee, if you need one. Nice place to kick back and enjoy your coffee too, plenty of couches or outside tables. It can get busy and packing becomes an issue at the typical times, just like anywhere else in town.

I first visited People’s Coffee because of its close proximity to my work, but am now a devoted fan as a result of their wonderful Americanos, welcoming atmosphere, and fabulous employees! Blair is awesome– thank you for all the great service! I look forward to my coffee breaks here, and recommend to anyone looking for a caffeine boost and maybe a toasted croissant sandwich!

This place is awesome! Ordered a mocha that was delicious and enjoyed people watching. The barista that works here is super friendly and kept checking on the people hanging out in the café to make sure they were doing alright. Excellent service!

This place is a great hangout spot for the locals. Many different, comfy seating options, and it’s a great place to get some serious work done at the many tables. You’ll see the same faces and everyone is really friendly, including the staff! Lots of dogs rolling through here too, if you’re into petting some cuties :)

We needed coffee and a restroom. They had the coffee but the restroom was broken and they were«really sorry» but not really. Place had an odd insider’s vibe, not very welcoming. Found another place two blocks away with a clean restroom, outdoor seating, and helpful help. We enjoyed our drinks and snacks, and who needs People’s Coffee?

I’m normally a Starbucks girl but I tried this place on a an emergency caffeine need. I was so thrilled by the taste and potency of their coffee. I just got a coffee and put some half and half in it. HEAVONIN A CUP. They have trivia questions above the cashier that always make me feel stupid because I don’t know the answers. None the less I still love this place.

A coffee shop that does not know how to fill it to the top. If you like your coffee black, go somewhere else. When they leave room they leave 2 inches of room from the top of the cup. I have tried to get them to fill it to the top but they do not seem to get the concept. I have asked multiple different ways to no success!!!

Lots and lots of very flavorful coffee beverages. You can get some delicious food and pastries as well. I’ll always walk down on a cold day for a hot beverage and on a hot day for a cold beverage. Caffeine.

Nice spot for serious coffee drinkers. You can tell they care about good coffee cause of their«real cappuccino» where it is made clear this isn’t for starbucks drinkers with more latte or sugary tastes. The place itself isn’t very remarkable. Sort of a normal coffee shop décor and not like a clean, modern or hipster feel. The real cappuccino is great though and that is all that matters!

I drive past 2 Starbucks and a couple local coffee places to get to Peoples Coffee. Hands down the best coffee in Santa Cruz!

Had an iced mocha. The board details what goes with it. Whipped cream, too. I had to ask for it. It was a bit… generic. I could use another word. Bland. I’ve had better mochas in bottles off the shelf :-( The guy working was busy chatting with the customer behind me instead of paying attention. I got weird vibe from the place, but I wouldn’t have discovered the best pecan bar I’ve ever had if I didn’t come here. So that’s what the 2rd star is for. This place didn’t make it on my list of coffee shops to return to. I was looking for a local shop that wowed. I’m really bummed this one wasn’t it.

I got introduced to People’s Coffee by one of my friends who told me that«it was one of the best cups of coffee she had ever had,» so I knew I had to try it! Once I did, I was hooked! The coffee itself is very good! It was smooth and not overbearing. Yet, my go-to drink is their Vanilla lattes, which had a good vanilla taste, but not enough to overpower the espresso. Also, the pumpkin bread that is served there is great! I’m not sure if they make it in house, but I always grab a slice. As for the ambiance, it is VERY Santa Cruz. There are pictures everywhere, a surfboard hung up… I really felt I was in a beach town once I walked into People’s. There are various tables set up, along with a set of couches towards the back. Also, the music is the best! It was upbeat, but not loud or distracting enough to take me away from my work. Overall, I enjoy People’s Coffee, and am always hitting it up whenever I’m in that part of Santa Cruz!

I went to People’s coffee for the first time just a few days ago and had a good experience. I put a lot of weight on the atmosphere of coffee shops and there was great décor and seating here. The music wasn’t too intrusive on my studying. I had a rasberry mocha and it was delicious! However, I asked for soy and got regular milk. I didn’t notice until after I left and realized that I had milk. I’m not super lactose intolerant so it wasn’t a huge deal but it definitely could be for a lot of people. Also, there is a play area for children. I thought this was great cus it is so rare to see this at a coffee shop. Unfortunately the play area is right in front of the bathroom, which I don’t think is great for a play place. On top of this, the bathroom was disgusting. It wasn’t very busy and during my time there they changed the toilet paper roll but did nothing else to clean the bathroom. I would expect better from a coffee shop, especially when they keep the kids area right in front of it.

I heard a couple of my friends talk about how great People’s Coffee is, even though we don’t exactly live nearby it. So I finally joined them and went today, and I’m so glad I did! It’s a very nice little shop with great coffee. I was excited to see the raspberry mocha on the menu and knew I had to order it. It was so good – really smooth and not too sugary. I heard the regular coffee and other drinks are great, too. The servers were very nice and quick. I thought it was a perfectly chill place to study. It had plenty of space and nice background music. I’m pretty sure the employees listen to the same Pandora as me. I’m excited to go back!

This place is awesome for many reasons: + close to home + variety of pastries and cookies to entice you + a place you can read, research, or simply relax + couches and tables readily available + computer stations + vegan breakfast options + friendly service + my triple espresso over ice was a blend of bitterness and sweetness The first time I came here was on a Sunday, my first overnight stay in Santa Cruz w/him. I bought him a cup of black coffee and a bear claw however, I was the one that enjoyed the bear claw the following day; still delicious(not a hint of dryness). I might be back tomorrow morning.

Iced Raspberry Mocha actually really freaking tasty. Cute little place. My friend accidentally drank someone else’s coffee(the barista put it RIGHT in front of us! How could we know?) and they didn’t charge us for it! Nice folks. The only gripe that someone(not me) would have is that they charge $ 6 for their internet, which seems a little steep. Still, I was just there for coffee, and it was delicious.
