I come here regularly and always get different bike ideas from this shop. Juan Pelota and Stumptown coffee in the shop is also as good as it gets!

Don’t be afraid to go mountain biking in Santa Fe if you are an active person! It’s fantastic! My husband and I like to mountain bike but never know what we’ll find when we visit a new place. We walked in to Mellow Velo at 10 am wearing our running tights and tennis shoes and within an hour were riding on top of a hill on the outskirts of Santa Fe enjoying an incredible network of trails for every riding ability.
Mellow Velo made the whole experience simple and comfortable. First, they asked us what type of experience we hoped to have. Then they gave us the bikes best suited for that type of experience. Finally, they directed us to the trails that we would enjoy most. We were able to ride 3 miles to the trailhead and spent a total of 3 hours with the bikes before returning them.
Regarding the trails, don’t be afraid to get off the bike and walk it up or down the sections that seem a bit tricky. When I wasn’t sure about my ability, I didn’t take chances. I just walked it. That strategy was the key to guaranteeing a fun afternoon.
The staff at Mellow Velo know how to meet the needs of different types of riders, from the ultra-​serious (just check out the high-​end gear for sale) to the novice. And it was obvious that they wanted us to have a good experience. If we go back to Santa Fe again, I am 100% certain we’ll be back in the store to rent bikes.

Asked for the basic tune up but got the elite tune up, extra $ 75 plus extra $ 20 ‘cleaning charge’. Also they cut the mount for my computer/​odometer off and threw it away I guess, still trying to replace that.

I brought in my new mountain bike for tune up. When I went to pick up my mountain bike, staff were thrashing on my mountain bike, WTF. When I got home I noticed they did put on tube caps on my bike! WTF ! I wonder what else they for got

Needed a bike ordered and had trouble locating one in the states. Called Mellow Velo and Jason had me one located within 20 minutes. A week and a half later the bike had arrived, was assembled, and was ready for pickup. I was very impressed with the staff. Great business

Never felt like I was welcome there. I brought in an old bike for repair and had to bring it back to them three more times within the first three months. Not sure if it was their fault or not but when you do a complete tune up on a bike I feel like it shouldn’t break a few more times in the following months. They never mentioned the fact that I had to keep coming back. Finally I went to broken spoke and they charged much less and I haven’t had to go back for repairs since. I have been told Mellow Vellow has too high of a turnover and that they haven’t been able to keep people that really know what they are doing or care. Either way, glad I found a better bike shop.

My first Unilocal review– so that tells you everything. What can I say, we had a front Mtn bike tire get stolen and went to these guys basis the other good reviews. They didn’t have one to sell (it was an older bike) so they loaned one to me, free of charge, and got us riding right away. Great guys working there… what a bike shop should be!

The best bike shop in Santa Fe hands down! It is where all the cool peeps go. Check it out for sure!

Located just off the Plaza at E. Marcy, I found just what I needed to bike around downtown and surrounding areas. The rates to rent are reasonable, and you can keep your bike with you overnight, if you wish.

Great shop and terrific staff. I rented a premium bike which was perfect and they spent as much time needed to adjust in per my specifications. Just a great attitude all around. My number 1 spot for Santa Fe bike rentals or anything bike related. They also gave me a great ride to do right from downtown. Cheers

Great bike shop. These guys were very helpful when I needed a headset pressed in with short notice. Very friendly and great service. I also enjoyed browsing around the shop — nicely curated and edited selection of accessories and frames. Lots of cool Cinelli stuff, and their shop-​brand jerseys and tees and super cool and retro too.
I’ll come back for sure.

Love this place. They gave us a great bike, route to check out, and sunscreen. They are super friendly. I will definitely come here again.

Wanted a hybrid, but got a multipurpose mountain bike because they don’t carry hybrids. After a few miles, I understood why. Even though I’d planned to stay on-​road, I was seduced onto gravel and dirt trails that would have been nightmarish with any other bike.
Bike was in great condition and well-​tuned, the lock was easy to use, and everyone in the shop was as helpful and friendly as you could imagine. The map and suggestions were superhelpful, even though I completed all of the highlighted portions in just two hours, which was a bit short for what was expected to be a two-​day rental.

I met up with a friend in Santa Fe to ride our bikes around town, I live in CO, & he was passing through. Having not ridden since last summer, I didn’t realize my tires were mostly flat. I forgot my bike pump & my friends bike pump didn’t have the right size valve. I figured we were out of luck, but thought we’d walk around and see if we could find someone who happened to be riding their bike & who might have the right pump, which seemed unlikely on Christmas day. We happened to walk by Mellow Velo, and though they were closed for the holiday, a few employees were in there cleaning up from their party the night before. They were super friendly, and even though they weren’t open, they let me use their pump, & my friend & I got to go on our fun ride after all. Great, friendly people, if I am ever in Santa Fe and need anything bike related, I know where I’m going… Mellow Velo! thanks for the Christmas stoke!!!

We had an absolute blast on our bikes rented from Mellow Velo last Saturday. The staff was super helpful in ensuring our that our bikes were fitted correctly and we were appropriately geared up for our ride. They took the time to explain a map of the area and suggest routes for us to explore. Although part of the terrain was pretty technical, it was so much fun giving it a try and just getting out in the Santa Fe terrain. There was also a lot of in-​town biking for us to do. Biking along Canyon Road was such a memorable experience. I can’t recommend Mellow Velo enough!

superb bike shop. friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate staff. i had them build a bike for me a couple years ago and have had them service it since. never a problem with any of their work. highly recommended.
also note the new (more convenient) address as they moved away from their last address on old santa fe trail.

I walked into the shop last Friday afternoon seeking recommendation & directions to some trail riding. Employee Mark who was about to finish his day shift offered to ride with me to a trailhead :) He kindly rode with me and even began the trail at the Dale Ball area. He was super friendly and gracious with his time; I felt like a King. Kudo’s Mellow Velo.
