Michael Ray Martin, DDS

I was referred to Dr. Martin by my girlfriend and a couple of other people in Santa Fe. I was told that he does exceptional work. My experience was, yes, he does do very good work, but his way of handling the payment of that work was disgusting. I’m not going to be longwinded with this review.
In a nutshell, I was given a very precise estimate by a receptionist over the phone for the work I was going to have done. I’ve had this work done by dentists around the same cost many times in the past. I went into my appointment and the total amount due was nearly 100% more than the original estimate. They disclosed this amount AFTER my appointment was over and somehow expected that this would be ok. With any good business, the final amount of a service is told to the customer before the work is done if the cost will be different from the estimate given. It was not up to me to ask if the cost of the work would be significantly more than the estimate. After I expressed my frustration at the charge, they reduced the 100% to 60%. This is still bad business.
Lastly, the main secretary was smug, rude, dismissive, and confrontational throughout the entire process. When I maturely confronted Dr. Martin in person he didn’t have the guts to talk to me man to man. He, like so many people in Santa Fe, can’t understand direct language.
Santa Fe is filled with the affluent and Dr. Martin’s office was such that this affluence determines how they treat people of more average means. I’m tired of this kind of cavalier treatment of others.

Dr. Martin is excellent in doing crown procedures. All the work was done in one visit. He is a true professional. His office is run efficiently and waiting time is very limited. His staff is friendly and professional as well. Very happy to have found this dental practice.

I have been going to Dr. Martin for 13 years. He is a kind, gentle, and excellent dentist. The staff is very understanding & patient. The office is always very clean.
