I’ve eaten there a number of times. It is by far the best Mexican restaurant around. The food quality is excellent. I especially love the vegetarian tamales. This is a great place to eat. It doesn’t have a lot of frills. But the food is excellent.

Two Saturday’s ago I was headed to ABQ to catch a flight I had some so I decided to stop and get some tamales. It was about 6:30AM I ordered two tamales and sat down. There were no other customers and at least four employees working. After about 10 minutes I finally got my tamales I got on the road and unwrapped them and it was both were disgusting. They tasted like they were a week old. The edges were hard and the mass at the fold was off color and hard. You should be ashamed to be serving this overpriced carp. I’m late sending this review because I just got back a remembered when I drive by your place. Thanks for your response. It was the 16th of apr around 0630. It was a young lady and I ordered two regular Pork tamales.

If you want the best Mexican food in New Mexico, then this is the place to go. The fajita burrito is huge and one of the tastiest things on the menu. I also love the chili cheese dog burrito. Imagine two hot dogs sliced down the middle, smothered in cheese and chili(not chile) and then wrapped up in a flour tortilla. It’s like a little bit of heaven right here on earth. No matter what you order, you’re going to be happy with it. Neither I nor anyone I know has ever had a bad experience with Posa’s food. Make sure to aka for extra pico, it’s the best I’ve ever had.

Every time I’m in Santa Fe I eat here. I love the shrimp taco plate. The tamales are also excellent. The homemade biscochitos are an added benefit. Horchata? Of course. No day through Friday specials are great. Monday, after, 3 pm, dinner for four $ 32.99 take out. Yes please.

I ate here the other day. Enchiladas. They were very fulfilling. The only thing I couldn’t find was my fav drink. The fruit punch jarritos. Next time I will be optimistic that there will be more!

I was so excited for this place because they do serve vegan tamales! Which would be absolutely delicious if you could actually eat them. Got the green chile over the red because we were told they would be less spicy… And they still made my lip burn! I can usually handle spice decently well but it was way too much. Take down the spice and this place would really be a winner. Great horchatas too!

Spiciest tamales I’ve ever attempted to eat, couldn’t eat more than two bites, beans had no flavor(which I didn’t even order, I ordered the squash which I never got) and the rice was either under cooked or extremely old because it was crunchy. Will never return!

Posa’s is a regular stop when we head out of Santa Fe back to Tucson. I have a hard time finding tamales locally that even come close to these. First off, they use lard. The result is masa that is light, tender and moist. On top of that, the chiles are New Mexican, so you have incredible flavor and some welcome heat. Finally, they are nicely constructed with a generous amount of meat and just the right thickness of masa.

Stopped in while driving up to Denver for lunch on Friday. The place looks a little industrial on the outside but it is clean, colorful and pleasant inside.(BTW Unilocal’s map puts it closer to 285 — it’s about 300 yards further). Service was efficient and polite especially as we took a while to order from their extensive menu. I got their Huevos Rancheros with chicken — which was excellent and fresh. My wife got the Tamale, Enchilada & Chile Reno combo. I got to taste the Chile Reno which were some of the best I ever tasted. Definitely worth checking out!

Fabulous tamales good for a snack — the pork one is sneakily spicy, the cheese one less so but still great

Let me preface this review by saying that I purchased a $ 10 for $ 20 voucher deal on Unilocal to feed both my friend and I — an amazing deal. Upon walking in, Posa’s looks like the average Mexican in-and-out eatery. There is a decent amount of seating, and the décor is modern and clean. I did notice a few windows in the back revealing a large industrial building connected to the restaurant, which we later found out was the tamale factory the restaurant was connected to. We arrived at around 6am so the place was pretty empty, but I think watching tamales being made in the factory while eating would be an interesting experience. I got a sausage breakfast burrito with Christmas(red & green) chile, and a single tamale out of principle. The burrito was delicious, though not perfect — both the red and green chile were amazing and I wished there was more of it. The sausage inside was also juicy and flavorful, and I couldn’t tell if it was homemade or store-bought which is definitely a good thing. The tamale had pretty good flavor and texture, but also a tad greasy. For a tamale factory I did expect a little more from their tamale. If the $ 10 for $ 20 deal is still going on, take a friend and take him/her to Posa’s for a great meal. However, even if it’s not Posa’s is definitely one of the better places in New Mexico to eat some amazing chile and leave satisfied.

Great mexican food. Santa Fe style. Low key and locals-first. Tamales are awesome. Not so fancy — don’t take your date here until you just want to ignore each other and feast on masa-based dishes. Take home tamales = big score.

This place is fast and delicious. It is a great lunch place that serves good New Mexican food. I love the«famous tamales» and the tacos al pastor. If you are eating dinner it is better to get your food to-go, really more of a counter service lunch place. I have also had their food at catered events, and it was on point. Thumbs up!

Posa’s is an out of the way spot for a quick, tasty bite of New Mexican favorites. My two dishes of choice here are the bacon Christmas(red and green chile) breakfast burritos and the pork red chile tamales. When I make tamales, I aspire to make them as good as the ones at Posa’s. The red chile is rich and intense in flavor and the masa is light but not dried out. The breakfast burritos are my favorite handheld burritos in Santa Fe, due in large part to the flavorful chile. The coffee, however, is a bit of a weak point in their repertoire. I wouldn’t expect top-notch coffee at a place like this, but theirs is slightly below mediocre. Some of the reviews I’ve seen of this place have mentioned issues with the ambiance and/or service. I haven’t personally noticed any issues with the service. It’s generally fast – perhaps not overly friendly or peppy, but perfectly acceptable. As far as ambiance, I guess I don’t notice anything lacking here either. It’s fast casual, not a traditional sit-down restaurant. Posa’s doubles as a tamale factory, and when I’m there I like to watch them making tamales by hand through the glass window.

They have some decent New Mexican food when they serve it hot. The Santa Fe plate is good — two tamales drowned in chile, comes with posole and tortillas on the side. The frito pie and breakfast burritos are good as well. However, food quality is very hit or miss… The handheld original burritos are always lukewarm and you can still make out the individual cheese shreds inside(lame). I really wish they could figure out a way to make the burritos hot. I’ve also had coldish takeout frito pies on multiple occasions. Also, although they are a tamale factory, their tamales are really, really bad(super greasy, but dry — probably because they precook them before chilling/freezing). The ambiance is lacking — the room basically has a counter to order at and a bunch of tables. It’s more of a take out place IMO, although many sit at the tables during lunch. There’s a large window at the rear of the room where you can watch tamales being made — fun for the kids! EDIT: made the mistake of getting another take out burrito — after my 5 minute drive home, it was cold with unmelted cheese shreds on top. Boo! I think the problem is they place the burritos in styrofoam, and aren’t able to stick it in the salamander to heat it up properly. I can’t believe they’ve been in business this long, and haven’t worked this out yet.

Posa’s really is world class when it comes to tacos and tamales. If you want authentic tamales, this is the place to stop. This is not a good«date night» place, but perfect for a breakfast stop to start your day or a lunch with friends, family or co-workers. If you want fine dining, head to the Santa Fe plaza instead. But to get a feel for the real New Mexican taste without the expensive cost, check them out. They also serve french fries, but don’t get them here. Not one of their specialties. Stick with the good stuff, burritos, tacos and tamales. Very well done! Make sure you read the family story at the back of the building and watch the ladies in action making tamales. Good stuff all around!
