This place was a lovely respite after 4 hours on the desolate stretch of the 285 out of White Sands. Ordered a chicken burger with green chiles on a gluten free bun. Tender and cooked to perfection. Skipped the fries in lieu of a chocolate milkshake. And, oh what a treat that was. The service was excellent. Angela understood how tired, thirsty, and hungry I was and was ever-present with iced tea and water refills. Great freshly-brewed iced tea! Next time, I will try the homemade chips. How did I pass on the homemade chips?!

Great food and service. I had the bacon green chile cheeseburger with onion rings. Both were delicious! Highly recommend.

Santa Fe’s reputation for fine restaurants is well deserved, but burgers are usually not what you’d normally think of first when in the City Different. It’s time to change that mindset. Santa Fe Bite is the relocated, renamed, and infamous Bobcat Bite. Now centrally located in Garrett’s Desert Inn just south of the Plaza near other hot tourist spots, SF Bite is surely gets more traffic and builds on its following primarily dedicated to delicious burgers. Big, juicy, flavorful. House made chips, with options for various fries including home fries. I’ve always ordered the same – green chile cheeseburger – but have tried the chips, fries and sweet potato fries. All delicious and well worth its reputation. Next time I’ll try the home fries, which my friends tell me are amazing. Other great items, including breakfast, are also on the menu, but I’ve yet to try them. Good thing I’ll have many more opportunities to do so — though it’ll be hard to not opt for my favorites!

I had really high expectations because of the reviews I read. This place does not live up to the reviews. We went on a Wednesday at about 2:30 not packed maybe 5 tables had patrons. Took us a little bit to be seated and longer to be asked if we were ready to order. We all had hamburgers with green chili and shakes. My husband had the green chili cheeseburger. I asked for mine medium well it came out medium everyone else’s seemed good. The hamburgers lacked any real flavor besides the green chilis which was just a green chili. My husband said his was ok. The shakes were great. Our bill for 4 hamburgers 5 shakes and a kids meal $ 89 plus some change not including the tip. Was it worth it no. Will I eat there again no.

OMG the burgers are huge if you get the 10oz. No wonder the waitress asked if we were going to split it. We started off with chips and salsa. The chips were good but the salsa was very bland. Growing up here I would have thought it would have had some spice at least but nope. For dinner we had the bacon green chile cheeseburger and a chicken sandwich. The burger was big and juicy. The green chile didn’t have much of a bite, but it did have good flavor. The chicken was grilled and juicy as well. I barely finished that myself. The meals come with homemade chips but we got regular fries instead. To finish off our meal we shared a vanilla milk shake. Oh sweet goodness that went straight to my butt, though it was worth it. I could see the vanilla bean in the ice cream and it was topped with whipped cream. Heaven. We will definitely be back for another round.

I got the green chile burger and it lives up to the hype in my opinion. It isn’t spicy like I would have thought but it was still good. The fries were okay and I got take out so I don’t know how the interior is.

I went into SFB to try the fries, SFB listed as 1 of 50 burger and fries joint in the country. ??? not sure about that; Lota Burger serves a tasty and inexpensive GCCB, w/fries just as good as SFB’s. And LB’s burger doesn’t fall apart ½ through the meal. Our server was polite but not attentive. As for the location, it may have been a ‘happening’ spot during the ‘route 66′ days, today it is a sad over priced older motor lodge.

I was in town for the Santa Fe Film Festival this past fall and spent all weekend looking up reviews for places to eat around Santa Fe. We found this diner on the first night we were there, so we decided to check it out based on the reviews. I got the regular burger and my friend got tacos and they were both delicious. Price isn’t bad at all, especially for the size burger I got. We also went back to Santa Fe Bite for another bite to eat before heading back to Cincinnati. Highly recommend if you’re a regular in Santa Fe or just a visitor!

After reading so many great reviews about Santa Fe Bite we thought it time to pay a visit. Crowded by not packed around lunch time midweek with about a 5 minute wait for a table for two Immediately asked about drinks and apps Server immediately took our order and brought us two of the best burgers we’ve eaten in a while. Hot and juicy. Highly recommended

Disappointing service. Asked server if he had a burger. Said no. The soup and sandwich were ok, but not what I wanted. Guess the guy didn’t know what I was requesting. A burger…(They have burgers)

Love at first Bite. Yes, it really went that way. There’s a beginning to this story but there is no end. The love for Santa Fe Bite simply overflows. Confined in a hotel space, parking is a bit difficult. When arriving, there may be a wait as hungry patrons clamor to put their name down, waiting for their calling to eat. We ordered the Green Chile Cheeseburger. 10 ounces of perfection, that cannot be duplicated. Chuck and sirloin pattied into the juiciest bite I’ve had around the 505. Fact. Their potato chips were good too! Considering how large the burgers were, we’re glad we stuck with that versus a huge plate of fries. Even the side Ranch was good. Insane. Service here was great! Plenty of replenished drinks, smiles, and a nice afternoon in Santa Fe. Couldn’t ask for more(okay, well, maybe another burger sometime).

Yummo! The green chile cheeseburger cannot be overrated. Came here 2x in 3 days. Same for the green chile cheese home fries. Something about that chiuhua cheese… finished off with a real solid milkshake. If I lived near here I would likely be banned from eating here on principle«…dude you just have to go»

Green Chili Cheese Burgers with homemade chips. That’s really all you need to know about this unassuming diner attached to motel lobby. The beef patty is cooked perfectly and seasoned very well. The heat is not overwhelming with green chili chopped up into little morsels mixed into the melted cheese providing the perfect bite undercover that only makes you cry tears of joy after each bite.

If it wasn’t for Unilocal and some Food Network publicity, I’d have never thought of checking this place out, being on the inside of a hotel I probably wouldn’t care to stay at. Was it the best green chile cheeseburger(of course I ordered that)? I don’t know, it’s the only one I’ve ever had. But it was extremely good. I don’t quite believe it was actually 10 ounces, but it was a good size, cooked well, and tasted great. My wife ordered a grilled cheese that she really enjoyed(the bread tasted like it had garlic salt of some kind in it), and the sweet potato fries were good, too. This would easily be a place to stop if we’re back in the area, even with all the other restaurants within walking distance.

This was our first stop on our Santa Fe food adventure and they set a high bar. From the outside it looks unassuming, but they are serving up some seriously delicious local food. I had the Green Chile Chicken Enchiladas. As soon as the server placed them in front of me my first thought was how fresh everything on the plate looked. Every ingredient was delicious and fresh. The enchiladas had tender and flavorful chicken inside with just the right amount of cheese melted on top. On the side there was perfectly prepared rice with corn and black beans. The guacamole on top was amazing. My husband had the 10 Oz. Bacon Green Chile Cheeseburger. They were kind enough to switch out the American cheese for Pepperjack since my husband can’t stand the thought of American cheese. I thought my husband was nuts for wasting a Santa Fe meal on a burger, but this was one amazing burger. The meat was flavorful and perfectly prepared with plenty of green chile and crispy bacon. I really liked that the bread was buttery and toasted as well.

We came here when I saw it featured on Food Network. It is not the easiest place to find. I suggest you park your car as close as you can to the place and just walk it. We came around 5pm in the afternoon and the place was still buzzing with patrons. We decided to order the Green chile Burger(meat cooked perfectly, green chiles, cheese) honestly the green chile is what makes this thing. Comes with home made chips and tried the milk shake and it was a perfect meal split by two people. Our server was okay, seemed busy but not as personable. This is a must try while in Santa Fe!

I’d been wanting a GOOD burger for a couple of months. I mean one that leaves you speechless and wanting more. My boyfriend saw this place in an AOL article, so we made the drive to Santa Fe to see what all the fuss was about. We were quickly seated, the restaurant seemed to be well staffed and full of customers. We both ordered the bacon green chile cheeseburgers. My boyfriend got the onion rings and I got the homemade chips. Those homemade chips. Wow! They were super crunch with just the right amount of salt. The onion rings were also cooked to perfection with a flavorful batter. I typically don’t eat the buns of hamburgers but I did have a bite just to get an idea about the flavor. The bun was warm and soft. The service wasn’t the best, I usually drink a lot of water with my meals and ended up having to steal my boyfriends water. Their prices are a little high but very well worth it. We ordered them cooked medium and they were perfect! Just the right amount of pink. We will definitely be back!

Santa Fe Bite… The aura and mystery around this famous place has been haunting me for awhile. I’ve been to the rest, will this be the best?!? The service here was great so we’ll get passed that right away, no complaints there at all. Time to eat, and we thought we might as well get an appetizer along with our burgers. We both got the standard Green Chile Cheeseburger for the full test of greatness and got the Green Chile Cheese Fries for an app. Those Cheese Fries are the bomb-diggity! Wow! Now on to the burgers… I don’t know how to explain it, other than to say that there wasn’t anything I *didn’t* like about them, but after having some of the great Green Chile Cheeseburgers around the state, I was hoping this one would be at the top. The bun is interesting… I know that they tried to do something special with it, but it might suck up all the other flavors you may have gotten from the burger or cheese or chile and all you taste is the bun. The burger itself wasn’t jumping out to me, nor was the chile. Again, I wasn’t upset about the burger, but I was hoping for this to be the pinnacle and it wasn’t. Would I return? Yes I would, but I would get something else on the menu.

The Santa Fe Bite restaurant was formerly the Bob Cat Bite and was located a few miles south of the downtown Plaza. Now renamed it is adjacent to Garretts Desert Inn and 2 blocks from the Plaza. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is varied with many delicious selections. We enjoyed breakfast and lunch/dinner,(late lunch) Seating is available inside or on the outdoor patio. Patio dining has some shaded tables and those located adjacent to the sidewalk offer the best people watching. Service was friendly and our servers, Angela and Gabriel were happy to explain the menu and provide recommendations during both visits. Water glasses were kept filled and they followed up throughout the meal. Breakfast choice was Huevos Rancheros which is a crispy masa topped with black beans, sour cream, green or red chile, 2 eggs any style(my choice was over easy and Christmas(red and green chile). This was a fantastic choice, tasty and plentiful. For our late lunch it was all about the famous Green Chile Cheeseburger. A 10 oz. fresh-ground choice whole boneless chuck and sirloin, served on a homemade bun along with chips. The burger was cooked medium rare and extremely juicy. The chiles had great flavor. It was just like the review on the Food Network. Also a special on Sunday is a fantastic melt in your mouth Fried Chicken. It’s cast-iron-fried buttermilk free range chicken breast served with mashed potatoes & gravy and seasonal vegetables. On this visit the vegetables were squash, zucchini and carrots. One of the best fried chicken I have tasted and real mashed potatoes with a rich brown gravy.

This place definitely had one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten. I knew that having a Green Chile burger in Santa Fe was a must and after a morning of strolling around the Historic part of town, chose this place to get my burger. The location is attached to an old motel so a bit odd — read the newspaper clippings that their old location was more charming, but the interior was clean and spacious with outdoor seating. I ordered the Green Chile Cheeseburger medium well and my first bite was pure burger heaven. The green chiles were a great complement, not too hot, but with a nice little kick. I didn’t add any condiments. All of my three kids loved their burgers, although none went with the green chiles while my wife had a salad. My only quibble is that they serve potato chips with the burgers. You can substitute, which I did with cole slaw, but most sides were an additional $ 1.00, some $ 2.00. Would be great to add a similar side without an upcharge. We also shared the onion rings which were great, nice and crispy, the way we like them. The service was very good and even when they messed up one of the burgers, they were quick to apologize and fix the mistake. A great lunch at a very reasonable price. If you are in Santa Fe, highly recommend a stop for the Green Chile Cheeseburger here. If there weren’t so many great places to eat in this town, I’d be back on this visit, but since I’m only here for three days, I’ll have to savor the burger from the picture I took.

Four years ago I had a green chili cheeseburger at a place called the Bobcat Bite that completely changed my perspective on burgers. The burger was so perfect that no burger since has been able to truly meet my burger needs. Imagine the horror I experienced when I learned that my dear Bobcat Bite had shuttered. Thankfully, it was re-imagined in the Santa Fe Bite which opened up in the center of town. I have to admit, the name change and the fact that it opened up in a hotel(?!) made me doubt its genuineness. I had to investigate. On a recent trip to Santa Fe, I went(almost immediately) to taste the reincarnated burger. Though the atmosphere was a bit lacking, the burger was not. It was just as fabulous as it was when it was served in that dive on the outskirts of town. The patty is thick, has an excellent beefy flavor, and is extremely juicy. The bun tastes like it was freshly made, just for that burger. The green chili provides some heat, but not too much, and lends its signature chili flavor. I also tried the chili with cornbread. The chili is loaded with chili beans, ground beef, and lots of flavor. The best part was the cornbread though, ask for two pieces. I am happy to report that the Santa Fe Bite is just as good as the Bobcat Bite. They have increased the number of items on their menu, as well as the prices.
