The name of this shop succinctly describes its wares. Going in and spending time with its hospitable owner, Gadiel, will likely dramatically improve appreciation of the diversity of honey, and lead to a few unique purchases. Like a cottage, the cozy shop is entered through a patio. Inside, merchandise is simply displayed: honey in a spectrum of golden and brown hues and in various sized jars, marked only with cryptic symbols(a card decodes some of these), nuts(some in honey), infused honey sauces, body care and aromatherapy products, and candles. The heart of this shop lies in the tasting station to the left. Here, Gadiel patiently provided us samples of many of the honeys and sauces, displaying impressive knowledge about the multiple varietals available, over a dozen, which may vary seasonally. This interaction, more than anything else, makes visiting a wonderful experience. The tasting may yield surprises. We tasted a fascinating honeydew honey, made not from flower nectar but from the byproducts of aphids eating tree sap. A request for unusual led to honeys with interesting flavors, such as malt, butter, herbal, and molasses. The taste of bee pollen was memorable. And the pistachios marinated in orange blossom honey and green chile were ridiculously good. Note that Gadiel believes strongly in the health benefits of honey and bee pollen. As a health care professional, I am not apt to accept health benefits without better proof, but others may differ. A few cold and hot tea drinks using honey are also offered(samples happily given); the cold ones are refreshing, their sweetness well balanced. Purchases can be shipped domestically for a very reasonable cost. This can easily lead to a few more purchases, as these products make terrific gifts. A great place to visit for most. Certainly those who appreciate honey will love this charming shop. But those with limited exposure to honey’s flavor possibilities can learn a lot here. There are two parking lots with entrances on Juanita St, the one closer to Paseo de Peralta being best for smaller cars, and the other able to fit larger vehicles but maneuvering may be difficult if there are more than a couple of cars.

I stop by every time I’m in town. The owner is a mellow, patient guy, which is a good thing because there are like 20 kinds of honey to try(depending on the season), including: gambel oak; desert wildflower; mountain wildflower; wild blackberry; mint; carrot; star thistle; cactus; meadowfoam(tastes like cotton candy!); and more. Add on to that: bee pollen; honey pistachios; honey soap/candles/lip balm. Even if you don’t buy honey($ 18 for the small-but-not-tiny jar), get a cold honey drink: ginger limeade or hibiscus cooler. Gadiel, the owner, believes in the health benefits of honey/bee pollen and seems to give samples of anything edible in the store. I enjoy + look forward to every visit here.

Amazing experience. The hospitable shopkeeper Gadiel pronounced«god yell» was wonderful. I puchased a beautful array of honey made soaps as well as three jars of honey that were exquisite and each with its own character. This was a memorable place to stop and I am so glad I did. This is a must do visit to squeeze in if in Santa Fe.

Awesome store with many different kinds of honey(local and from all over). As we arrived in the store, my son & I were guided over to the honey tasting station, where we tried several different kinds. The proprietor is very knowledgeable about all of the different honeys. We bought a honey jar, some bees wax candles, sage smudge sticks, and a chile ristra, and are very happy!!! We’ll be back. Highly recommended.

This place is the bees knees. We were greeted from(who I think was) the owner, and shortly after were invited to taste the honeys. They have a very large selection; even some of which are local. We first tried out the local honeys for allergy reasons. Both selections were very tasty. We also tried about a handful more samples, including the bee pollen, and this marsh-meadow(not sure on the exact name); as we asked for something unusual. In the end, we bought 3 jars of honey. Two were local and from the same area, just harvested at different times of year, and the other was the marsh meadow honey which we plan to put on top of ice creams, angel food cake with strawberries. you get the idea. Overall it was a good experience; the owner was welcoming and knowledgeable about the honeys and we did not feel rushed. It was a little pricy, but the supply we bought will last a while.

Come prepared for an endless barrage of samples! It’s like the dude from the Big Lebowski decided to become a honey farmer. Very chill place to get some local flavor:)

Great service and honey! The owner is knowledgeable and helpful. There is a wide offering of all kinds of honey. You can try what ever you want. There are candles, soaps, and drinks too. I had a passion fruit sweetened with some kind of honey. It was GREAT!!! Tried some honeys that were not the run of the mill honeys!

What a cool place! As soon as i walked in, i was greeted by the MOST friendly gentlemen. I was offered samples of all different types of honey. The gentlemen also gave a thoughtful description of each of the honey’s origin and flavor profile. They also carry candles and various herb bundles. I will most definitely be returning!

This place was amazing! We hadn’t heard of this place before and decided to stop in. The owner was incredibly nice and offered us a taste of any honey we wanted! We ended up tasting at least a dozen and buying a few. He was really knowledgable and passionate about all of his honeys. Will definitely go back next time I’m in Santa Fe!

I recently moved to Santa Fe and my allergies have been crazy. Several locals informed me that eating raw«local» honey would be very beneficial. I found the Santa Fe Honey Salon – on the corner of St. Francis and Paseo de Peralta. Its hard to miss the stand with the free honey samples sign. I didn’t realize that the small house on the lot is the Honey Salon and Farm Shop which was recently established(just 2 months ago) by Gadiel and his wife Martha. The honey comes from their family owned farm and this is the young couple’s spin-off business. There are over 24 varieties of honey(local and exotic) and only raw and organic for optimum nutrition. Customers are welcomed enthusiastically and invited to partake in a honey tasting sampling. Gadiel and Martha are very informative and have already expanded their product line to include bee pollen, beeswax candles, honey drinks, honey comb, soaps and organic skin products by local, Shea By Shay. Gadiel advised me that the best way to treat allergies is to start with a few grains of the bee pollen and gradually building up to a teaspoon a day. I couldn’t resist the beeswax bar(similar to cocoa butter), candle, soap and honey(of course). I love everything and I do feel that I’m breathing easier after taking the bee pollen for a few days. The products are great(all made by Gadiel and Marta), reasonably priced and customers are treated with hospitality and great service!
