Went here after a Tmacfitness bootcamp(I know right…) and it was fabulous! My friend and I had the chicken and waffles in the skillet and it was quite possibly the best I’ve had in LA! The honey and chipotle flavor a on the chicken were to die for. If you’re in Santa Monica on the promenade, definitely give this place a try! Ambiance: Has a cool patio so that you get a classic indoor/outdoor California feel to the restaurant. Walls are covered in waffle irons, which is also pretty neat. All orders are placed at a window at the counter in the store, so prepare for a bit of a wait… Food: Likely the best chicken & waffles I’ve ever had. Moist and juicy chicken. Delicious flavor to the waffle. Really interesting sauces that combine spicy and sweet flavors in the mouth. Super interesting flavor palette! Service: It was drizzling a bit in SoCal when we went, but the folks at the restaurant were running about drying off chairs and tables and doing their best to make sure we had a good dining experience. They also helped us understand the menu(as we were newbies) and were super friendly. No complaints about the service here from me!

Awesome waffle sandwich! I was in search of a quick bite during my lunch break from class at General Assembly when I stumbled upon this cute little place. Ordering was really quick and the food was ready even faster. I decided on the Mushroom, sun-dried tomato, goat cheese waffle sandwich with arugula and pesto. Delicious! I was worried that it would be too heavy, but it was just the right amount of food. Looking forward to trying one of their breakfast sandwiches next.

Went here with my cousin this morning. He got a breakfast sandwich and I got the original chicken and waffle sandwich. Tasty. Place is clean. Restroom was nice and that’s always important to me. Friendly staff. Great location on the promenade. Solid.

Great location, great service, and great food. NOTE: slight bias contained in the review because I came here really hangry. Oops, sorry. If you’ve never been to Bruxies, just know that it’s a gourmet waffle sandwich eatery, with options including savory items, sweet items, and potato sides! Prices are not too steep; for $ 7 – 9 you can get a complete waffle sandwich, but if you have an extremely large appetite I don’t know how much it’ll fill you up(for me it was more than enough). :Food: Irish Nachos 5⁄5 The fries were perfect; the cheese was delicious and the bacon added the right amount of flavor without being too salty. It comes in a cute skillet and it definitely is a great option to share with your friends! 100% instagram worthy. The Original Fried Chicken & Waffle 5⁄5 Fried chicken breast, chili honey, and cider slaw. Looking at my waffle sandwich, I honestly did not think it looked too appetizing but that first bite was SOGOOD. The honey added a unique taste to the chicken sandwich and it ended up being pretty filling for me. But seriously, work on that food aesthetic though. Lemon Crème & Berries 2⁄5 Would not recommend this one to anyone. The lemon crème was really sour and I just don’t think you get good value for your money with this little waffle sandwich. Honestly Bruxies is a great place to hang out and stop for a quick bite to eat while you’re shopping on 3rd Street, but be aware of highly ignorant, offensive vendor salesmen who look like Bieber wannabes. Bruh, did you really just say«Konichiwa» to me?(1) I speak English. Perfectly.(2) I’m not Japanese.(3) If you’re using another culture’s language, don’t use it in a mocking tone.(4) You’re rude, bye. Seriously shaking my head right now. But yeah, Bruxies itself is great lol.

This is a review for a TO-GO order. I got the Nashville in a waffle sandwich. It was terribly soggy and half the waffle was falling off from being drenched in sauce. It’s not like it sat in my car as I drove home through LA traffic — I ate it in the parking lot because I didn’t want to wait. It couldn’t have been in the container for more than 5 minutes. Things I didn’t like: –Sandwich was propped in a way that wouldn’t let me get a bite of both chicken and waffle in one bite –Waffle was soggy af –There was no way to eat it without getting my hands all gross Things I liked: –Chicken was crispy and yummy I’ve learned not to get to-go next time, since this place hasn’t figured out how to minimize food disintegration yet. I would suggest leaving the sauce in a container so the waffle can stay whole.

****RATINGOF3.5OUTOF5STARS I had heard of Bruxie before but never really got around to actually trying it. Conveniently enough, I was in Santa Monica visiting a friend today and just so happened to stumble upon the restaurant while at the 3rd street promenade and decided, what the hay, lets give it a try. Upon looking at the menu, I was very unsure what to order. My two other friends hadn’t had Bruxie before either so we were pretty much a deer in the headlights for a good 3 minutes. Severely looking through numerous other Unilocal reviews we ordered the Bruxie buttermilk fried chicken waffle sandwich, California pesto chicken sandwich(fried not grilled), and the crispy chicken tender meal. Tbh price wise it is bit on the expensive side since fries aren’t included in the meal(besides the chicken tender meals) but we were hangry and wanted to try Bruxie out anyways! Customer service was very polite! Food took around 10 – 15 minutes to get to the table. At first glance I was very unsure how to eat the sandwich without completely stuffing my face. anyways I ended up just nibbling the night away until I finished the entire meal. Taste is pretty delish but nothing really stood out to me personally. I mean don’t get me wrong. the sandwich I ordered(Cali pesto) was really bomb however it didn’t really stand out? If that makes sense? There was no like extra UMPH, ya feel me? Anywho, no complaints taste wise. Nothing was bland or anything of that nature! Its just not one of those sandwiches that I would crave(cough cough. like In N Out), but I would defiantly come and eat here again if the opportunity were to arise! Oh yeahh, seating is a bit cramped too due to the high volume of people at shopping center. Overall, really good shtuff! Would try again~

Grabbed a bite to eat here three times. The menu is really cool and feels unwise. I’ve had a few different bites from here and I’ve yet to be disappointed. Only issue was with one of the servers talking to someone in the kitchen and completely ignoring me even after I waited to not interrupt the conversation to see if she would acknowledge that I was ready to order. Outside of this I’ve recommended friends to try it out.

Had them in the OC a while back and decided to give this location a try. Loved the burger which was sandwiched between a big ol crispy waffle. It was actually quite difficult to consume tho and had to be cut in half in order to be able to take a bite out of it. My mouth just isn’t that big! It’s also quite messy. Burger patties however was juicy and very tasty! Location itself gets packed so it’s difficult to enjoy a meal here while several people literally stand above your head waiting for your seat to free up. You just end up feeling so rushed. When you do decide to leave then witnessing them arguing over it is fun to watch. Who gets the seat?! Tight space, overcrowded, not fun. Had it once, won’t go back to eat in that environment again.

Tasty option on 3rd st. They used to have this chicken club sandwich, which has now turned into a turkey club… too bad, that chicken sandwich(made with the crispy chicken) was Yummy. The salads are ok… nothing to write home about. Breakfast sandwich is pretty good. So are the waffle fries. All the food is pretty heavy so don’t think you’re going to leave here feeling light and airy. But you won’t leave feeling hungry. The staff are nice, and are focused on customer service.

Was fairly disappointed with the food as I’ve heard such wonderful things about this restaurant. I ordered the famous chicken and waffles, along with a side of fries and a strawberry lemonade. While the prices are reasonable, I couldn’t finish my entire chicken and waffle because of the sogginess. The outside was crunchy but once you got to the middle of the waffle, it was just wet and mushy, pretty disgusting to eat. It’s also pretty much impossible to eat the waffle without getting your hands dirty. I think the closest parking structure is the one on 2nd street! They have free parking for the first 90 minutes.

3.5 stars. Bruxie’s is good! It’s the perfect lunch spot on 3rd street. I like their indoor/outdoor concept. It’s a great way to maximize the space, but I don’t like how tiny the location is. I had their Stacked Hot Pastrami & Gruyère Waffle Sandwich. The pastrami and overall flavor was really good-perfectly cooked. However, I was a little disappointed with the size of the waffle and its taste. I understand that the sandwich was under $ 10 but I still expected it to be more filling… perhaps a thicker sized waffle. The waffle itself isn’t unique. It’s thin and tastes exactly like a Kellogg’s Eggo waffle. Overall, this place is pretty good. It’s perfect for a quick bite. I will be back to try more whenever I’m shopping in the area.

I’ve had Bruxie before down in the OC area and it was pretty darn good so I was expected the same of this location but it disappointed a bit. It was my GFs first time so I was hoping she would enjoy it. Butter Milk Fried Chicken — Seasoned Fried Chicken Breast, Chili Honey, Cider Slaw: This is what their known for and my GF wanted to try it. The fried chicken was overly done — it was very dry and chewy. The waffle itself was not light and fluffy as I remembered but hard and crispy — it was so hard that it was crispier than the fried chicken. Waffle Cut Potato Fries: We got this Buffalo style which came with buffalo sauce and bleu cheese. These were probable sitting at the counter for a while as they were cold and soggy. I’m going to stay away from this location. Very busy and sloppy food/service.

3 stars are for everything we ordered except for the Pastrami Caesar Salad. We were on our way to Pacific Park and wanted to get something to eat. We did a quick Unilocal search for brunch and Bruxie came up. We got there around 10:30 so it wasn’t too crowded so it was nice that we got a table since the place is pretty small. We ordered the following: — Bruxie Combo($ 10): it came with a fried chicken breast and waffle, side of fruit and we got a coffee. It was good, the chicken was very tender and juicy and seasoned perfectly. The fruit was ok, it wasn’t mushy or looked liked it was sitting in the bowl for several hours and the coffee was coffee. — Chicken Tenders with Waffle Cut fries($ 8.25): we got this for our kids and they liked it. — Caesar Salad with Pastrami($ 10) Did not like the pastrami, it was very, very salty and fatty. The dressing was good but I didn’t like the pastrami. I’ll go again and try their combo.

This place is awesome. We walked around for quite some time before ending up here. We wanted breakfast and lunch at the same time and it was perfect here. What a nice selection of items on the menu. I know because it took me some time to decide what I wanted to order. The nice open seating area is very inviting and keeps people coming in. I had the Buffalo Chicken Strips, which comes with a side of fries. Other people in my group order the salads and chicken/waffels. All tasty as heck. The orders also arrived very quickly which is always appreciated. The downside to the place is the lack of seating. Another thing is that they only have one restroom so there was pretty much a line the entire time.

Sometimes you just need to pig out. After taking a dip in the freezing Pacific, I was craving greasy food, and Bruxie’s buffalo chicken fingers/tenders totally hit the spot. For about $ 9 I was stuffed for the rest of the day. An order comes with four huge pieces of chicken and a reasonably sized pile of fries. The buffalo sauce had a pretty strong kick to it. There were also spices in the breading, so I’m sure even the plain chicken tenders would have been flavorful. The chives sprinkled on top were a cute vegetal touch. The tenders come with ranch dressing, not blue cheese, for dipping. I’m always a sucker for waffle fries, but I didn’t really taste the seasoning that was supposedly on them. The employees were friendly and the service was fast. The bathroom wasn’t the cleanest, but you can’t really complain in this area. Overall, Bruxie is a really solid fast-casual restaurant. I wouldn’t be mad if they expanded to the East coast!

Indulgent, over-the-top, and oh so satisfying… Bruxie has quickly become one of my favorite new discoveries: ______________ + We were glancing over the menu for maybe a minute at most when a lady(I’m assuming the manager) came by to offer both her assistance and a warm greeting. She spoke about Bruxie’s waffles in loving detail — «warm, airy, fluffy, cooked-to-order» — and I pretty much knew that it was a done deal from that point on. ______________ + I was having a tough time deciding between the Prosciutto & Gruyère Waffle or the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Waffle; fortunately, I happened to see a promotional flyer for the Epic Bruxie, which combined the best of both. «Epic» was definitely an appropriate adjective. You would think that the variety of ingredients piled into the Epic Bruxie would make the overall taste too busy, — but surprisingly, the contents balanced out one another quite well: + Let’s start with the waffle itself. It was fluffy, buttery, and light — exactly as the lady had described. As far as waffles go, Bruxie’s take was definitely positioned more towards to the«savory» end of the flavor spectrum. It wasn’t bursting with candy-like sweetness the way that I had been expecting; rather, its mildness allowed it to really serve as an ideal base for the sandwich’s contents. + At the core of the Epic Bruxie was a generously-sized chicken breast, which was perfectly breaded(i.e. crispy, but not excessively so) & accentuated with just the right amount of seasoning; this piece of chicken tied the whole sandwich together, especially when paired with the massive fried egg that was carefully placed right right on top of it. The Chili Honey Glaze used to top the chicken provided some nice hints of spice and sweetness, as well. You might think that wrapping the chicken in prosciutto and gruyère would be a little excessive… well, you’d be right. However, the flavors of both ingredients paired well with the fried chicken; the prosciutto wasn’t anywhere near as salty as I had been expecting it to be, and the mild, creamy gruyère provided a nice gourmet touch. ______________ + I couldn’t stop smiling as I dug into my Epic Bruxie, watching the runny yolk cascade into the crispy chicken breading and the hearty waffle. People walking by on Third Street repeatedly asked what I was eating, and I’m pretty sure that at least a few of them peeked their heads in at Bruxie after seeing me having such a good time. I must’ve looked like a paid advertiser! Since the Epic Bruxie is such a straight up calorie avalanche, I probably won’t be looking to incorporate it into my routine diet; that being said, I’m looking forward to exploring some of Bruxie’s more traditional offerings down the road!

My lady and I were in Santa Monica recently, and were in the mood for sandwiches. We looked up nearby sandwich shops and found this place to have the best reviews. So off we went! When we arrived we were(pleasantly) surprised to find that this wasn’t your typical sandwich shop. They specialize in waffle sandwiches! That’s right, no bread, just waffles. We were pretty pleased about this unexpected discovery. My lady enjoyed the roasted mushroom & goat cheese sandwich, while I enjoyed the California Pesto Chicken sandwich. Both were delicious, as were the accompanying fries. It’s a little small, so if you’re here during lunch or dinner, I recommend getting your food to-go and enjoying it outside in the promenade where there are plenty of places to sit. What a great find! I’ll be back, and with a bigger appetite!

We have gone to Bruxie in Orange a few times and when we heard they were going to open one closer to Los Angeles, we couldn’t wait to try it! We came here when they were offering a deal on their Epic Bruxie they promoted on social media, which is a combination of the Prosciutto & Gruyère Bruxie and the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Bruxie. Super amazing and filling! It had chili honey, arugula, and an egg in it. I’m sure this was a limited time sandwich but I’m fine with stopping by just for their fries or other sandwiches: D What was also amazing was the customer service at this location. The employees were all very helpful and kind, and made sure to check on each customer regularly if they needed anything, whether it was additional sauces, or to help us clear our tables. We really loved our experience at this location.

2.5 stars With Bruxie locations mainly in the OC, I was excited to learn that they opened a location in Santa Monica. I’ve been to the Chino Hills location a few times and was expecting to order the Hash and Eggs. Unfortunately, this special was not offered at this location. So I had to settle for the Buttermilk Fried Chicken(2 stars). The chicken was crispy and juicy, but I felt like it need more chili honey sauce and slaw. The slaw was more like bland cabbage. The waffle was good. I should have ordered it as a skillet instead of a sandwich. My fiancé ordered the pastrami and was disappointed too. The staff was very friendly with okay service(3 stars). The food came out fast, but they forgot our waffle fries(3 stars). I should have kept it simple and ordered a sweet waffle instead of a savory sandwich. I was just expecting more since I’m a Bruxie fan.

The name caught my attention. What is Bruxie? Maybe it was my mood at the time, but Bruxie sounded like some burlesque joint so I had to walk on over and see what they’re all about. I know, I know… should’ve just Unilocaled. And I did… as soon as I found out that Bruxie was a food joint. When I saw they served waffles… I was sold — had to eat there and see what the waffle craze was all about. Ordered the Roasted Crimini Mushroom & Goat Cheese(hold the goat and it’s cheese)… with Waffle Cut Potato Fries and the Pure Cane Sugar Root Beer. What the heck… I just ran for hours so I think my bod can use some bad calories at that moment. Waffle was a waffle(IMO), but… dip, pour, drink all the syrup they had in the self serve tub and everything becomes magic. *Disclaimer — do not pour the syrup in your drink — that’s just gross! The saltiness, creaminess, waffleness all came alive(yes, zombie-like) and it definitely became a party in mah mouth. Yes… I devoured my entire meal. Definitely a great place to eat. The customer service was excellent considering they had lines out the door for miles. Some stalking may be necessary for bigger parties to get seats. … after having Bruxie’s food sensations, I must continue my trek to find the best waffle in the U.S. To this day, I have yet to experience the same mouth orgasm I had when I tasted true Belgian waffles. Tip: When in Belgium, have the waffles(and the beers).
