Cabochon Fine Jewelry

My friend and I purchased a few pieces two years ago and I went back for another necklace last year. Recently the clasp on one necklace became unstable so I took it with me to Montana Avenue when I went shopping. Another jewelry store told me it would cost $ 50 but kindly told me to check with Cabochon since I bought it there and they could maybe repair it for less. I was told $ 100 at Cabochon even though they knew it was their piece. When I mentioned the previous quote to the salegirl, she initially said no but agreed to ask the manager/​owner (who had sold me all of the aforementioned pieces). The manager initially said «no» quite harshly but as she was trying to make a sale to a customer who was right in front of her, she relented and said «fine» in an irritated tone and then proceeded to give me a dirty look. I took the piece back and told her I would return. I ended up taking it back to the first place. It was more about the attitude than the $ 50 but the whole interaction left a bad taste in my mouth and I won’t be going back. I also ended up splurging on a piece at the other store that is fixing my necklace…
Another thing worth noting is that the prices are the same most of the time regardless of the «60 percent off «cards and signs and despite the «special deal» they quote you… I have priced the same items at different times and different «deals» and the prices remain unchanged.
It’s a shame because they do have pretty pieces, although rose gold dominates the store and It’s not my favorite…

Owner was angry and was trying appear holier than thou by saying she reduced the price tremendously and was giving me this great deal. Insinuating my boyfriend needed to give me a bigger rock or else he’s a loser. Rediculous.

I’ve stopped in a couple times and the staff has always been very helpful. They sell beautiful one of a kind pieces. My fiancé got me the most gorgeous diamond earrings for my birthday and I get so many compliments on them. The price was fair and the earrings are great and very sturdy. I wear them almost every day!

Stopped in during the Montana Ave sidewalk sale and couldn’t get anyone to say hello, much less help me, to save my life. I ended up talking to other customers more than I talked to sales people. Lots of people around, but no one was interested in helping me. One person even had the nerve to say I was looking at the real diamonds… implying I should be looking at the CZ. To be fair, I came from a day at the beach so I wasn’t dressed to the nines. But still… Not impressed with the service. The jewelry was pretty, hence the 2^nd star. I guess I don’t look money enough to warrant the same customer service everyone else raves about.

I have shopped at Cabochon many times and always had a great experience. My husband has also purchased things there for me that I love (nice surprises). The women who work there are wonderful. They are friendly and knowledgeable and have good taste! They have repaired jewelry for me that I purchased elsewhere and done a good job with very reasonable cost. All in all this is my favorite jewelry store and there are many to choose from in this area…

I love the selection at this store, but the downside is that they only carry a limited amount. Fiancé and I had spotted these earring, we went back to get them and they were gone :(
I’m still mourning. They were the most stunning earrings I have ever seen in my life. They also told me that it would cost twice as much to special order it if they can find it. I wasn’t about to make my hubby pay 8K on earrings. I do love the girls there, and the service.
