Stopped here on a whim while driving to LAX. I was craving a bagel & wanted something outside a franchise. Found this place on Unilocal & im so glad I did. I got the veggie bagel with herb cream cheese(which was clearly mixed in house). I’ve never had a bagel that was grilled by a Panini press… EPIC. Dark roast coffee was good too. The food did take a while to come up but in my experience that just means everything is made to order. It’s better to wait then to have something premade just waiting to be served. I just wish I lived closer!

Got a tasty breakfast burrito from here, first time having one here in Cali. No complaints all uphill here from here. Service was pretty quick, and the vibe was just right.

The service here is so unbelievably terrible that I had to write a review. I live in the neighborhood so I’ve been here a number of times. I keep thinking that maybe the service will get better but it never does. It’s sad because it’s a cute place with a pretty solid menu so I REALLY hope that the manager/owner/someone will take note and fire the people in the back and the shitty cashiers. I can’t tell whose at fault more but 9 times out of 10, after going there probably 15 – 20 times they either get my order wrong or forget about it completely after I pay or take about a half hour to put yogurt and granola in a bowl. It’s unbearable. This morning after waiting 25 minutes for coffee when the café was basically empty, I asked where my food was and that’s when they started making it. They also NEVER apologize for it. Dogtown — you could be great. Please get your shit together and fix this.

My go to spot from getting away from DTLA. Park(put in extra time they don’t mess around with tickets) grab a mini breakfast sammy, iced tea & a cookie all for around 11 bucks & walk down to the water. Great vibes, chill & friendly staff & excellent interior design. Thanks guys!

Love this local neighborhood coffee spot. Laid back atmosphere, plenty of seating but tends to get super packed in the mornings and on weekends. Can’t go wrong with any of their options, food or coffee. They have, hands down, my favorite Acai bowl in LA and their chai latte spot-on! *no reliable wifi so it’s hard to come here to get work done.

Driving though Santa Monica and Unilocaled a place for coffee and breakfast. Got the salty caramel coffee and munchies burrito based on all the glowing reviews. And… it was a let down. I don’t know why there are so many good reviews for fine but average coffee and food. The best thing about the burrito was that it’s grilled so it was crunchy. Maybe there aren’t many options for coffee around here!

Met up with a friend here to grab some warm drinks before heading to the beach. Ordered a caf de a lauit with hazelnut and soy. Price was about a dollar more compared to other places I’ve been for the same drink. Lot going on as you enter the place, since food almost seems to take precedence over the coffee. Friendly experience with staff, but surprised it took 15 min for my drink. Not a bad spot — wish I had a more remarkable review to give.

5⁄5 their oatmeal cookie was so amaze balls and about the size of my face. not too sweet, chewy middle with slight crunch outside. i was gonna save half for the bf… but i just… couldnt… staaahhpp… 4⁄5 caramel sea salt coffee i think i should have had some coffee first, but of course I ate the carbs first and the sugar from the cookie masked the coffee flavor =(the small hints of caramel that I had were delicious. I’ll have to try it again some other time.

Ordered The Munchies Burrito which was spectacular! Full of different flavors and exactly what I needed after walking around Santa Monica a while. Strong coffee as well with outdoor seating and a really unique atmosphere. Employees were cheerful, nodded along to the great music playing, and really seemed to enjoy being there. Lots of people came through in the hour I was there confirming what I already thought — this place is great! Check it out if you’re ever in the area.

I had driven by this place many times and finally decided to stop by last weekend after I heard about their awesome breakfast burritos. The chill, surfer-skater vibe of the shop is pretty cool and a welcome change from the posh atmosphere of most of Santa Monica. I decided to get the munchies burrito, as it packs together all my favorite ingredients, including bacon(!!!), eggs, tater tots(!!!), cheese, and avocado(!!!)(can you tell which items I was most excited about?). The burrito had great flavor and definitely satisfied my breakfast burrito craving. I was worried the chipotle sauce would be too spicy, but it wasn’t; it added a nice, tangy flavor to the burrito. The serving size was a bit small for the price, though. I’m a big fan of leftovers and would have enjoyed having more to eat later(or maybe right when I got home). The Vietnamese coffee I got was alright, but didn’t taste especially memorable. In fact, if I didn’t know it was a Vietnamese coffee, I would’ve assumed it was the same cold brew I make at home. I may come back to try the sea salty caramel iced coffee since I have a major sweet tooth and Unilocalers seem to like it. The location is conveniently/dangerously just two blocks from my workplace, so I know where I’ll end up going if I get a hankering for a breakfast burrito again.

Has a pretty chill hipster environment, playing classic tunes. Coffee was pretty good although the highlight was a the munchies burrito! It is definitely worth the trip and lives up to the hype. Staff was friendly and welcoming too!

This is some damn fine coffee. I like coffee as nature intended, strong and unadorned. The roasts and subsequent brews here are rich and rewarding and straight up delicious. I also happen to like the grungy atmosphere and the skater sensibility, which may be on the nose but preferable to starbucks corporate programming. Big props for the antique surfers journals on the magazine racks, hanging out, like old friends.

10% off your entire order with a Unilocal check in! Located on a street corner in Santa Monica, easily accessible with some street parking nearby if it isn’t a super busy day. Average amount of seating inside but there’s an outdoor patio space as well. This place has everything… From coffee to breakfast burritos to salads. I was only able to try the sea salt caramel cold brew but it was delicious and I would recommend it! Can’t wait to come back and try some of the other items on the menu.

What a gem! Great little coffee shop tucked away just two blocks from the beach. Cozy outdoor seating with a view right down Bay St to the ocean. I had the Standard(breakfast) Burrito which has eggs, avocado, cheese and turkey sausage. It was scrumptious! Nice place to sit and people watch.

As if I didn’t already love this place for their coffee, they also have amazingly delicious cookies that are gigantic and under $ 2(nearby places, cough cough, Joan’s, cough charge over $ 3 for smaller chocolate chip cookies). I also love their iced coffee: it’s delicious and needs very little sweetener/creamer(and usually I get my coffee light and sweet). Plus the staff is so nice across the board. Anytime I find myself working in Santa Monica this is where I come for my caffeine fix.

I planned a lovely morning that started with biking on the beach, and then grabbing breakfast burritos. I realllly wanted a breakfast burrito. After much Unilocaling, I settled on Dogtown Coffee and hoped for the best. We biked over there around 10am on a Friday, and the line was super long, snaking to the other side of the tiny shop. The place itself is really small and very hipster looking. I didn’t have much to deliberate because I had done my research on what I wanted: the munchies burrito. Any burrito that has avocado, tater tots, and cheese is my hero. The line was so long and the food did take a while, but that only means it’s fresh, right? Finally, the food came and we had to bike back before eating it. Even though I didn’t eat it piping hot, it was amazing and totally satisfied my breakfast burrito craving! I absolutely love tater tots in my burrito. Their chipotle sauce was also excellent. Would I come back? Yes please!

The spot of the original Zephyr shop. Who knew… Damnit these cats make a great flat white and this spot is perfect for chilling inside or out. I hear they’re making a patio on the side. When we were there it was just a construction site. Damnit. Until next year. Dogtown Coffee. Maybe I’ll get a new Alva skates, Dogtown Coffee skate. My Alva board from ’78 is getting kind of thrashed and the art work I did on the bottom kind looks tired after grinding the hell out of it. g

Best end to our LA vacation. Prices were great and the food was even better. The entire place seemed very California, complete with surf boards, skate boards and graffiti walls. In addition to the delicious-looking pastries, Dogtown has a full breakfast lunch menu for those looking for heartier options. Our order: Flat White — crafted to perfection Oatmeal — this stole the show with its generous portion of raw almonds, dates, and bananas Acai Bowl — not what we are used to, the acai was frozen and a little gritty. Still good, but no comparison to the oatmeal If I lived in Santa Monica this would be my weekend routine. So, so good.

The older I get the more I enjoy a good cup of coffee. As is our tradition we always seek out the local establishments, especially for coffee. Dogtown is a couple of blocks from the beach in Santa Monica. The coffee shop does not disappoint with its setup and coffee house ambiance. It looks like the place was a surf shop or chose a surf theme because it is in a beach town. Whatever the reason the setup is nice and the coffee house has a nice feel about it. I had the sweet and salty coffee which the barista told me must be tried for the first time as iced coffee. I took his advice and I am glad I did, as the coffee was unique and fantastic. It is important stir your sweet and salty coffee up before indulging. We were happy we started our day with Dogtown. I definitely recommend Dogtown if you are in the area and want to kick start your day with the delicious caffeine infused beverage.
