I cant decide if I was extremely hungry or if this place was really as great as I remembered. By the time I went in, I had already walked around the new outdoor shopping mall and the 3rd street promenade. Other than the fact that this was the longest wait for Mexican food I’d ever had, the food was better than expected.

This place is fast, cheap and somewhere I avoid. For the under $ 10 range I would rather go to Chipotle or Baja Buds which are also on the promenade. The food isn’t particularly flavorful but they have a salsa bar to help with that. Fish tacos get cooked to death so beware.

Enjoyable spot to pick up some fresh Mexican food while on the Promenade Salsa bar is very nice, habanero salsa is very nice and not offered elsewhere Burritos are decent, pretty solid but nothing special Not a bad choice for Mexican food

A-OK for fast food type Mexican food. I ordered the Mexico City tacos and got one of each meat — chicken, carne asada, and carnitas. The chicken was dry, the carne asada was a bit tastier, but it was the carnitas that was the clear winner(as expected). Decent salsa bar but I wish they gave you more chips with your entrée instead of charging you extra for a separate order. Otherwise the rest of the portions were okay and pricing was right — my husband and I shared the tacos and each had a beer and our lunch total was $ 14. This location is really small, cramped, and chaotic with all the hustle and bustle from the 3rd Street Promenade. Sitting there, I felt like I was going to get salsa spilled on me by every passing customer. There are two La Salsas closer to me… I’ll give either of those locations another shot and see if my rating goes up…

I come here every once in a while since their food is moderately priced for fast food and their portions aren’t too big(I get super full or can’t finish the portions at Baja Bud’s). I usually go for The Original Gourmet burrito. Fresh ingredients, add some salsa from the salsa bar, and it’s a great meal. Comes with chips as well. I tried the double stacked enchilada today and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of avocado they put in there! It wasn’t as tall as the picture of course, but I liked the sauce and it tasted good. I got chips and guac for an additional $ 0.99; I think I’ll just pass on that next time. The double stacked enchilada came with guac and avocados, plus rice and either pinto or black beans too. I LOVE their salsa bar! I’m definitely a fan of their roasted tomato and avocado. The mango and verde are good as well. They have the small containers for you to put them in, so you can try a couple different ones. Great for your burritos and chips! To top it off, it’s close to the beach. Park in one of the lots, eat, then take a stroll on the Promenade or towards the beach!

This is a generic and typical Mexican food place. Nothing special. When I first walked in, it was so hot in there that I wanted to just leave, but of course, I stayed and tried their fish taco. The fish taco was alright. The fish was really dry. But the tacos came with alvocado, which was awesome. I don’t find that most places give me free alvocado for tacos. This place is a cheap joint. There are plenty of seating, and it is self serving. If you are looking for a fast lunch or dinner, then this is definitely the place. La Salsa is a cheap alternative in the area. 3rd street is filled with overpriced mediocre food. if you just want a cheap and fast Mexican food, then this is not a bad choice. The tacos only came with chips. if you want rice and beans you have to order that on the side.

This place is pretty terrible. I guess I shouldn’t expect much from a Mexican fast food chain, but the food here was just bad. First off, I think that all of the«fresh» salsas at the salsa bar were frozen and then reconstituted. Nothing tasted fresh and the pickled carrots had a really unusual taste and texture, like they had been frozen. I had the Los Cabos Shrimp Burrito and the shrimp were ok, but the overall flavor of the burrito wasn’t that good. Very peppery and not particularly Mexican. Personally, I would recommend avoiding this place. You can do better in this area. Having«Fresh» in the title is seriously misleading.

The food is a-ok but the salsas are terrible! And put the AC on when it’s 85 degrees outside! That’s all I have to say.

I’ve always had great experiences here. It’s really convenient for me as I usually hit this spot after 90 mins of yoga. The order is Chili Lime Salad with Chicken for $ 7 and I load it up with additional cilantro and pico de gallo from the salsa bar. The whole plate looks like a mountain and I have no problem finishing it. It’s fresh, healthy and fills the tummy for cheap. I haven’t tried other items on the menu… eversince they start displaying calories(deterred me from ordering anything else above 500 calories). Lol! This location is always so interesting to sit on a booth next to the window. I love people watching and 3rd St. is never short of interesting folks… keeping me entertained while I eat.

I’m no stranger to fake Mexican food, and sometimes I don’t mind it so much. When I was younger my mother would make her version of tacos and she’d Asian it up with a little fish sauce and Asian mushrooms and things. She’d call it «Taco Bell» because that’s what she believes it’s called. I ain’t lying, she still does this today. This place serves up fake Mexican food and is the worst tourist trap I’ve ever scene. Don’t even think about using the bathroom here. I think the only people who like it are the people from Wisconsin or Idaho who’ve never had real Mexican food. The food is almost insulting. I’m trying to think of words to leave you with so that you’ll remember to avoid.

For being the only restaurant open on Thanksgiving afternoon — you get 4 stars! La Salsa has never hurt me, and has always been good to me. That is why I trust her. This location is usually busy(in a good way) — the employees always greet me when I walk in, and always say goodbye when I leave. I like that. You better believe I gave one of the guys a high five when I ordered last time — that guy was awesome and really deserved it for being such a good person. Seating isn’t very easy to find — especially if you are in a bigger group of people. The Promenade is super busy every day, so naturally they spill into la Salsa and take away your seating options! Will I go back? Yes. Is it partially because of their salsa bar? Yes. Is it mostly because La Salsa has never broken up with me at my favorite restaurant in my favorite jeans because I love too much? Absolutely.

La salsa isn’t the best mexican joint~ Although I don’t usually comment on a franchise, I am doing so because I really thought the workers here gave great service(I know when you least expect it!) It’s 3rd street promenade… Busy hectic location but they never failed to neglect the customers and it showed. Extremely attentive to everyone’s request. I was impressed. Good job guys! :) Also Good HABENERO sauce. Love HOT stuff!!!

Poor excuse for a La Salsa. Maybe I’m spoiled going to the Vegas La Salsa’s but this one just sucked. It is small and hot inside with no waiter service. Its set up like a fast-food stop rather than a restaurant. The prices would be great if you got the same portions it shows on the menu. The food was pretty tasty but my tacos had barely any meat in them. The crispy tacos are almost overly crispy but that might just be a personal preference thing. Rice and beans were pretty tasty. Ordered some Coronas and they didn’t offer any limes, had to go back and get them. The girl at the register was not very friendly. Overall I would say there are plenty of other food options on the Promenade.

Turns out I’m a bonehead and reviewed the wrong location… hey, short asian girl… are you surprised I’m directionally challenged? Yea, that’s what I thought… following is the original time copied in real time between 2:02:45 and 2:02:50 a. m… For fast food on the Promenade, I’ve found this to be pretty reasonably priced. However, the only thing I’ve had is the fajita quesadilla, which is really good. It has a crispy outer coating and the beef inside is pretty tender. The caveat: I HATE bell peppers. Strange and inconvenient? Unfortunately. Luckily, the service is pretty good and they accommodated me without fuss. If your looking for relatively cheap food in the area, go here or Wolfgang Puck Express in the Plaza near Brookstone. They’ll set you back not too much more than Mcdonald’s but the quality is SOMUCHBETTER!

I had La Salsa over the weekend and was expecting the worst when I walked in. imagine how crazy it was to be unbelievably surprised! I got the green chile chicken burrito which was amazing! I don’t even like Chicken that much because its usually prepared very dry — But I really enjoyed my meal. I even plan on going back soon =) Two Thumbs Up!

Seriously, I never knew this before last month, but La Salsa is unbelievably good. I’ve become way too fixated on their shrimp tacos and the fire-roasted bowl(but I get it with no beans, cheese, and extra veggies). Cheap, fast, and healthy – plus it kicks the sh out of the pig slop being passed off as «food», at Baja Fresh. People-watching at this particular location can also be very funny, like Ugg-wearing teenagers skulking in through the backdoor, hovering by the salsa bar pretending like they’re going to buy something, only to furtively use the bathroom and then bolt immediately afterwards. Come on, no one cares if you use the bathroom!

I will choose La Salsa over Baja Fresh any day. Their food is just better for some reason. I think this is a decent place to get fast food and the basic burrito always fills me up. I may be a little biased towards the 3rd street location because a really cute cashier works there and he is really nice! Hehe. The service is fast and there is a bathroom inside, unlike many other places on 3rd street.

I work across the street from La Salsa and have eaten there many times in the last nearly 3 years. They have never messed up an order of mine, the food is always delicious, and the salsa bar has so many choices. My favorite item on the menu is the taco salad. It comes in a giant tortilla shell and is loaded with lettuce, black beans, tomatoes, guacomole, and a bit of cheese. I have also had the cheese enchiladas(yum!) and a few other menu items. If you happen to need a quick drink, they do have Coronas and other beers available for around 3 bucks.

I am eating my burrito and writing at the same time(so as not to forget). Burrito(chik) pretty good actually. I have been here many times, and the food is consistently good. However, its not really a place to go and relax for lunch, they have but a few tables and its exceedingly hot inside. The chips are just so so.

La Friggin Salsa for Dat Azz. I can’t really explain why I like this location and its food so much. Maybe because it is a great place to people watch. Or maybe because their carnitas nachos are so insanely good. The drawback about this location is that it gets really crowded when ordering and there sometimes is a language barrier when ordering. The tables can sometimes get super dirty when it’s busy. Oh, their salsa bar is always fresh and tasty. Don’t half step. Get a space by the window and watch all of the people walking in the Promenade.
