Miss Dakota’s Gypsy Rose Burlesque

I attended Miss Dakota’s Gypsy Rose show over a year ago at Harvelle’s in Santa Monica right around when the show first opened. Gypsy Rose is a very beautiful, sexy, & entertaining burlesque show … there is a ton of dancing, acrobatics, glamour, & sizzle! It’s old school classy burlesque and hollywood glamour mixed with a modern, sexy latin flavor. My absolute favorite routine is the fan dance, but all of the performances were quite wonderful… Much respect to Miss Dakota & her troupe! This show is perfect for a girls night out, or to bring a date to enjoy … I did both! ;) I highly recommend catching one of the Gypsy Burlesque shows!

My husband and I were lucky enough to experience this show and we were WOW’d with the performance. I’m not a yappy Unilocaler so i’ll give the best points in a nutshell. The show is in an intimate setting at the ever so awesome Santa Monica area
–Lighting is dim and just enough (a perfect place to steal a kiss), a speakeasy feel which adds to the mood of what Gypsy Rose transport you to.
–The host was delightful and witty, she brings the age old tradition of Burlesque comedy alive, which I feel helps keep to the authenticity of BURLESQUE! Sexy with giggles!
–The dancers were talented and gorgeous, as were the costumes, dancing from the ceiling, hanging on ropes, flying in circles!
–The drinks were oh so reasonable, TIP: reserve a table, they are the best view of it all
–GO GO GO, gypsy rose was the perfect night out with my honey or heck go with your girlfriends and enjoy the beauty and talent of women!
Cant wait to be back in LA to follow this group of gals to their next performance

When I went to see the show I had no idea what to expect, I’m a professional dancer and I’m sometimes I’m disappointed w burlesque shows… BUT! Gypsy rose blew me away… It’s full of energy and amazing dancing… Let me start w the talent, real dancers w charisma, sexy and sassy, it’s not just about taking your clothes off (anyone can do that)
They performance was flawless, good costumes, Miss Dakota her self is beautiful and has the best leg extension… Love a good leg!
The space in Santa Monica is intimate and you feel as If you are in the show.
I can definitely see this show in a bigger venue. Vegas hotel or a theater in Los Angeles.
The night I went there was an amazing host/​singer…:) love it.
A must see!!! A must follow.

When I first heard the name Gypsy Rose I thought of Gypsy Rose Lee the burlesque dancer of the 1950’s. The show takes you back to that era, with the the first act having the performers dancing to familiar music in close proximity to the audience. They dance on the bar then move to the isles. The star Miss Dakota performs with electrifying charisma while oozing sexuality and emphasizing «Tease» in the word strip tease. The 2^nd act (my favorite) is a black light affair that only lets you see the white fabric the performers are wearing. It makes your imagination run wild and can’t be explained. You need to see it in person. The final act has performers dancing with feathers, while strategically moving them to cover their perfect bodies. It made me feel how it would be, watching a burlesque show back in those days. It’s tasteful sexual innuendo, while keeping their clothes on. I never seen anything like it, and need to see it again.
