Great view, mediocre food. Tuesday lunch at 1pm, only 3 tables filled. The place looks very, very empty. The staff and interior and outdoor seating is all lovely and polite but if the food is improved, this would be a wonderful restaurant. For now, it is all but a mask covering the real test– the food. We ordered a pizza(too garlicy), calzone(mostly cheese), and a pasta(so salty). Go try a local place in Santa Monica instead.

This is a hidden gem in the mall at the end of the Promenade in Santa Monica. Found it up there after seeing a movie at the Landmark and not only is the pizza fantastic, they have awesome wine. If you’re into wine, then try to check this place out, because their Italian selection is really really good. And the service seems to be really on point and knowledgeable about it. Nicholas was really charming and suggested basically everything we ended up getting, including the wine(which was half off for a wine special, all of the wines were)! We were able to taste a few too before deciding. We also got some burrata, a salad, and a pizza and it was excellent. It wasn’t very busy either! So you have space and time to spread out and relax in the open air. Will definitely be back for wine.

Nice location away from all of the foot traffic on the mall and promenade. Sat outside with and the ocean breeze felt great. Host was really friendly, but our server seemed like she was doing the bare minimum to be polite. She was training someone so as she was walking by our table, we could hear her talking about the other tables and not all of it seemed that nice based on her demeanor after she walked away from the other tables. Food was hit or miss. I would first say that the pizzas LOOKED really good but we didn’t try it. I would get that if I ever go back. We were there for Sunday brunch, and ordered two spinach and mushroom omelettes. The menu doesn’t say that it comes with anything, and right under it, it said sides of breakfast potatoes for $ 3.50. It’s somewhat safe to assume that the omelette might be a la carte. So we order a side of breakfast potatoes. When our omelettes come out, they both had a small salad and breakfast potatoes included. It would have been nice if the waitress mentioned that both of our entrees already included breakfast potatoes, since we were too full to even eat the side order. They were also dry and bland. The omelette however, was very good. Mushrooms were nicely sauteed and spinach and ricotta blended perfectly to balance it out. Overall if I were craving pizza and wine, I would definitely come back. But overall this past visit based on our server, I would probably look elsewhere given the endless food options around Santa Monica. To be fair, the rest of the staff seemed very nice and pleasant.

Five stars for the memorable fennel sausage, portobello mushroom, and onion pizza. It was the hit for our table and far outshone the kale salad and the breakfast pizza. [Another reviewer said the breakfast pizza was bland. We found that the potatoes added a bit of texture but absolutely no flavor.) Based on food alone, it was a pleasant experience. The service left something to be desired, however. Perhaps it was an off day.

Came here for dinner with a friend and received excellent service by our server Matt. He was the one who made our dining experience excellent and will definitely come back. Food tasted amazing and Matt made sure we were well taken care of. Will definitely come back to eat here when down in Santa Monica.

Good food and even better service. Skip the crap next door(Sonoma wine garden) and enjoy your meal next door with good food, better ambiance, and pinnacle service.

I would only get the pizza here. I love that their pizza is thin and crunchy. I was not a big fan of their pasta and salad. We ordered the following: — large Pepperoni and Pancetta Pizza($ 23): decent size, 8 good size pieces. My son loved it, he totally wolfed it down. — large ½ cheese and ½ pepperoni pizza($ 20): decent size and my daughter loved it. IBC Root Beer bottle($ 5): yes, $ 5.00 for the IBC bottle of root beer. Beet Avocado Salad with Chicken($ 18.50): small portion. It had root veggies where when you eat, you can feel the grittiness when you chew on the veggies. Spaghettini Marinara($ 15): Did not like. The spaghetti was home made and with the sauce it made the dish very starchy and sticky. I ended up cutting up my spaghettini in pieces because the pasta solidified where it looked liked a casserole. If I’m here again, I’ll only get the pizza.

Almost every time we go to third street promenade we go to eat there. We love the pizza! Thin and crunchy… yummm. The Kale salad is also good. I discovered the Elder Flower lemonade which is so tasty and refreshing. My husband likes the gnocchi. The service was also great. We had our two little ones with us. Our waiter remembered their names and was patient with the craziness

Friendly staff. I had a kale salad which was drenched in vinegar. Way to sour. Stopped half way. Edit: I wrote my review right after finishing my dish. The restaurant owner was so nice to give me a salad to go for free. This time it was much better. Thanks!

This place is complete perfection. The service was excellent, I got to order my pizza with no cheese(I’m lactose intolerant) and it was still delicious and the prices aren’t bad. The restaurant’s décor is dim and chic and I cannot thank the staff enough for their kindness and attention. My friends and I had a great Valentine thanks to the excellent time provide here.

Went there for a quick bite — there was a large group and we were seated promptly. Friendly and efficient service punctuated the event… The food included salads and pastas with one gluten free Pizza and another not, as well as some desserts. The pastas were generally OK with nothing special(apart from the hours of heartburn afterwards…). The gluten free pizza was well made and the regular pizza was just that, regular… Desserts were the usual LA Italian fare and were enjoyed. Overall a convenient spot with nothing special about it.

I was super excited when this place opened. The service is TERRIBLE. Food is good and I would go more if the staff actually cared about the customer. They just cannot get it right. Tables left un-bussed even when other staff could jump in. Drinks never delivered. Food brought without proper utensils, napkins, parmesan cheese. Requested over and over. Check not delivered. It just shows that they are accustomed to getting decent tips with no effort. I had a really difficult time leaving 15 percent. Fire the staff, get new management, and just maybe I might recommend it other than convenience when shopping at Santa Monica Place.

2015 Unilocal100CHALLENGE — 084⁄100 This place had pretty good reviews and a great location so we stopped by for lunch over the weekend and overall, we were disappointed. Firstly, our waiter was just completely out of it it seemed. When we were seated, he came by our table 3 times to say I’ll be right with you. When he finally came by to get our drink orders, we stated we were ready to order everything and he told us «hold on» to step away and address the table next to us whose order he got wrong… ya. Finally he took our order, and after our calamari appetizer reached the table(average at best), we didn’t get our food for another 45min. I read a few other reviews here that stated the same thing, timing in the kitchen seems to be a problem. As for the food: I got the spaghettini pasta and my friend got a simple pizza, don’t remember the name of it. My friend’s pizza was soggy and really greasy. As soon as she would pick up a slice, all the toppings would slide off of it, not cool. As for my pasta: the noodles were completely undercooked! I had semi hard noodles in my pasta lol. Overall, not a great experience and food was mediocre at best. Not at all worth the $ 70.00 we spent. Won’t be back.

Went here for an office lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Our group of 7 sat outside and our waiter was very attentive. I had a pizza and the Brussels sprouts and loved them both. Wasn’t a fan of the gluten free pizza though. Will def consider going back if I find myself at Santa Monica Place or the Promenade.

I love their thin crust pizza! It’s a mixture of thin and crispy with a doughy crust, and the toppings and sauce goes well together. The bursts toast was also good, but the toast was a bit hard in my opinion, would be better if it was a bit softer with a chewy center. The pasta is also delicious. It looks like there’s a lot of sauce and may be a bit overwhelming but it taste just right, not too tangy or salty. If weather permits, sitting outside is perfect. It’s located on the top level of the Santa Monica place, next to Nordstroms.

My friend and I were shopping at Santa Monica Place(the mall next to 3rd street promenade) and we stopped by Pizza Antica on the top floor for an early lunch. It’s a cute sit-down restaurant and we were able to get seated right away in their sunny outdoor patio. That day, they happened to be serving a brunch menu for the very first time! So we decided to give it a try! The very first word on the menu won us over… bottomless! BOTTOMLESSMIMOSAS: $ 15 with order of any entrée! Who doesn’t like this combination of orange juice + champagne? It’s elegant and refreshing and worth getting if you’re going to drink at least a couple glasses. Lets just say we definitely got our money’s worth. ;) The servers were very good about refilling our glasses constantly! I got the BREAKFASTPIZZA which had bacon, onions, fontina, fried egg, and rosemary. It didn’t come with a tomato sauce base like most pizzas so it was pretty unique. I liked the thin, flaky crispy crust and the rosemary flavor, but it was slightly bland. I was craving some kind of extra oomph and adding red pepper flakes didn’t quite do it for me. I also wished the fried egg was oozing over the whole pizza, but it was rigidly confined to one small slice in the middle. Overall, the pizza was pretty good but not something I’d crave. Prices are decent and it’s an overall good spot to stop by if you get hungry while shopping! :) I wouldn’t mind eating here again.
