Pure Sense by Paula

I had the best experience of my life with Pure Sense by Paula. I went into her store on Montana a few weeks ago and mentioned that I was looking for a custom scent. Paula told me that she would be able to blend her essential and fragrance oils until I was happy with the result. I have been in scent bliss ever since and use it daily. I am a fan for life and plan to visit Paula again soon. I am also going to let all of my friends know about her place.

I’ve been a follower of Paula for many years and her custom blended products are perfect for my sensitive skin. Additionally she created a special bath product for me to help me combat the aftermath of a car accident that left me with a permanent muscle injury. I love that I can get custom blended scents that are holistic for all my other products too. She gives excellent one on one attention and customer service. Paula is a modern day alchemist! Yay!

I am allergic to most spray perfumes so roller ball scents have become my salvation. A friend of mine turned me on to Pure Sense by Paula a few years ago and I am so grateful. Paula custom blends scents and I have gotten so many compliments on my fragrance. I do all of my business over the phone + mail with Paula and she is absolutely amazing. When a recent order arrived and the scent didn’t seem quite right, she re-​mixed and sent out a new roller ball to me right away. I am so thankful for the wonderful care and customer service I get here. Thank you thank you!

Great experience! We had the pleasure of visiting Pure Sense last week and my children and I had an incredible time. We learned so much from Paula. She helped my children make a special bath gel and they were enthralled. She is extremely knowledgeable and very patient with questions. I purchased the lavender sugar scrub and body soufflé and they are of a much better quality and price than what I have purchased from other stores (e.g. L’Occitane). You can tell the owner puts so much care into her products and how she treats her customers. It was a truly wonderful experience for both my children and me. We will be sure to visit again! I highly recommend this store!

I have used products from Pure Sense for many years. I get the lotion, room and pillow spray and the candles. Paula is very nice and helpful and the products are wonderful! The cream is just right. Not too greasy and soaks in fast leaving hands soft. The scents are the best! Lemon hand lotion is my favorite. The candles are great too!

I really like this store and continually get the body soufflé. I had a scent that someone created for me years ago (thank god it has preservatives) and I brought it to Paula to re-​create. She spent about an hour with me working on it — she was very nice and patient so I think I’m there for good.

Paula is not only supremely professional in what she does, but more importantly, passionate about sent and helping you find your own. She is patient, knowledgeable, and really genuine!

I love this store. Paula is very sweet and knowledgeable. Her products are all natural and handmade. I have been using several of her products, such as candles, creams, scrubs, lotions and diffusers. Severely disappointed when the storefront in Studio City closed, I searched endlessly for new and better oils. I found disgusting, gagging oils at the Fairfax Flea Market, and I couldn’t find a mixing bar anywhere. One night at 2am, I had the brilliant idea of checking on-​line and I found Paula’s product. Immediately placing an order, I pulled out a lawn chair by the mailbox and waited for my delivery.
To my surprise, my order had a handwritten note from Paula explaining that she had charged too much for shipping and included some yummy free products that far exceeded the amount I had overpaid. Also, it looks like she may have a shop in Santa Monica-​which means I can visit and not have to wait for the mailman (surprising how he is sometimes my second favorite person on the planet).

This shop has great vibes, I know, I owned it for 15 years when it was a dog grooming shop. I loved my shop and all my clients. I still have dreams about it sometimes. I put great love into this building. I am now in the healing arts. XXOO

The lady who owns this store is really nice, but I bought from there a couple of times and felt like the price was too high for the size and quality of product. It’s basically a blending bar, like The Body Shop used to be in England back when it first started out. You choose a scent (which can be a fragrance oil or a mixture of essential oils) and then select a product or two to have it blended into. I could be completely wrong, but it seemed to me that the lotion I got was just an unscented base (which can be bought from Snowdrift Farm or any of the body product crafting sites) with my scent added in and then shaken. The label wasn’t particularly decorative or pretty, and had the scent selection written on in black sharpie. I also bought a linen spray and moisturizing body spray and within two months, all three products smelled bad — I don’t know whether any preservative had been added, but if not, I don’t know how this could have happened.

I love this store! I buy all my shower gel and candles there. Paula is really nice, and she’ll custom blend scents for you if you want. My favorites are Rosemary Mint, Green Tea, Sweet Pea, Pomegranate, and Lavender.
The candles last a really long time, and all the products are organic so you won’t have any allergic reactions (unlike stores like Fresh and L’Occitane). The prices are reasonable too. I highly recommend it.
