I’ve been to both the Hollywood and Santa Monica location, and this is hands down the best pizza I’ve had in LA! I had a Caesar salad and Brussel sprouts at the Hollywood location(the best Caesar I’ve ever had) and knew I had to come back to actually try the pizza. They offer traditional pizzas as well as more unique selections, like the prosciutto and egg pizza… AKA absolute heaven in pizza form! They also have a bakery attached to both locations, and they’re cookies(which are the size of my face!) are divine — the chocolate chip and sea salt one is my favorite. Basically, anything I write about Stella Barra would sell it short, so if you’re in LA, you MUST try this place.

Amazing! I came here with a friend. We sat at the bar. Everyone was really nice. Great wine list. I had the burrata to start. It’s like mozzarella on creamy drugs. It was one of the best things I ate on the whole trip! You have to get it, just do it! I also had the butternut squash pizza. It was very good, interesting combination of flavored but very very good!

Restaurant that says delivery till 11:30pm yet falsely advertises and says the kitchen is closed at 11:11PM. Maybe get your chefs to not be so damn lazy or not put this false advertising on your website about how you handle deliveries.

Order the shaved mushroom pizza! So delicious. The burrata appetizer is also amazingly creamy. Great atmosphere for a group or date night.

ok so i just moved here from NYC… very particular about our Pizzas in NYC. But you have to try the shaved Mushroom Pizza…“The heavens opened an the Angels sang“ really shocked by the flavor … The crust could be a little less spongy, but all the ingredients were incredible. Ok so i am impressed. I even ordered through grub hub, they battled the Traffic for me :)

I celebrated my birthday at Stella Barra and I’m glad I did! The service was outstanding. They stored the roses I received during dinner to keep them fresh and out of the way. Our server was super sweet and attentive. The burrata with the grilled grapes and the Brussel sprouts were excellent. I ordered the bloomsdale spinach and kale pizza which the non-vegetarians liked as well. Everyone was happy with their pizza orders. They brought out a butterscotch crème dessert for my bday and it was delicious! We also ordered the cookies with ice cream. I was bummed that they were out of the rice krispy but they provided the ginger snap which was good. The cookies were a little too hard for my taste — like they’d been sitting out for a day. I liked how the place was bustling yet not too loud that you couldn’t hear each other talk. My only complaint is trying to find parking! We walked a couple of blocks which I didn’t mind but we drove around a while just to find that spot.

Stella Barra Pizzeria actually surprised me. I really enjoyed the pizza! They have some unique and great options. Since I was with a group we ordered three pizzas and one we spit between two different kinds, since they allow you to do that. The service is not the greatest. We kept having to wave down the waitress and kept running out of water and kept having to wave her down again. They also forgot the rossa on one of the pizzas that we ordered it on. Saying that, the pizzas are really good and have great flavours to them. I did enjoy the classic pepperoni since pepperoni will always be one of my favourites. I highly recommend ordering a pizza and splitting it between two different kinds. I really had fun sampling all the flavours. It is open late, which is a huge plus since not much is open around that area late. Having a place open late and taste delicious is a great bonus.

Plus the bartender Lauren is so sweet we accidentally came in 10 mins before they closed and she still let us order and eat! btw don’t trust the Unilocal hrs it’s Sunday and they close at 10 not 11

LOVE the kale spinach pizza. Don’t let the kale part fool you. It’s so delicious. The only drawback to this place is the service. And for the amount they charge for food, they should give you decent service. Most waitresses and people at bar just seem unwilling, or have too much going on to have fun while you’re there having dinner. Makes me think twice about going. Makes me what to get takeout not cuz I want to eat at home, but because I don’t want to be disappointed with their service :/

dear lord. shaved mushroom is LEGIT! it was the pizza of the night! my friends and i came in starving! we ordered the chopped salad, goat cheese, rossa, shaved mushroom and margherita. the chopped salad was good, just extremely small. definitely a single portion! the goat cheese was delicious. it came in tomato sauce with sliced bread. the cheese was warm & spreadable. super yumm! onto the pizza, for some reason i expected the rossa to have cheese. sadly, we recieved a pie with sauce & arugala. i suppose this is a vegan option but for my preference, a no go next time i’m here. the margherita was basic, tasteful, but basic. now now now, let’s get talking about this shaved mushroom. the flavor EXPLODES in your mouth. a perfectly seasoned and flavored white pie, you MUST try this for yourself. next time we go, we’re getting 10 of these!!! for all pizza crusts, theyre light, fluffy, crispy and perfect! it’s not the type of pizza crust that you leave on your plate. solid 5 for the pizzas, but i docked a star for the service. our waitress just was not interested at all. also, the music does not match the atmosphere at all. but, who cares, i’m there for the delicious mushroom pizza from now on. :)))

Coming from the east coast it has been really hard finding good pizza in Los Angeles. Past places have lacked in flavor or the crust was stale. Reading the previous reviews I was skeptical about ordering delivery instead of dining in. But made the plunge and I am so happy I did! Ordered half Rossa half Bloomsdale Spinach & Kale and a Salted Chocolate Chip cookie from Postmates. The delivery took an hour but it still arrived hot and fresh.(There are reheating instructions on the box *hint hint). Oh my I am lost for words. I’m in shock I have not been referred to Stella sooner! SOGOOD. The Rossa has a ton of arugula on top. The red sauce is slightly spicy on the thin crust. There is a blend of spices that you don’t find on most red sauce pizzas. The Bloomsdale was really delicious and the right amount of cheese and white sauce. Though it didn’t need to be so greasy so I dropped a star. I’m eating kale after all for that vitamin A. Salted Chocolate Chip Cookie was the size of my face and I couldn’t have been happier. Just get it. You know you’ll want one now too. In the end I would totally order this again IN the restaurant so I can pair it with red wine. Kudos Stella. You made an East Coaster happy.

This place in Santa Monica is legit! I love most of the Lettuce Entertain You restaurants, but this is definitely a new favorite! Delicious thin crust 12″ pizza that’s extremely flavorful and has an amazingly crispy-on-the outside, soft-on-the-inside crust. The service was quick and efficient. We were given waters right away without even asking and they left us with a small pitcher to refill our glasses. Our other drinks stayed full without even asking. Our food was made and brought to us quickly. My hubby had a meatball sub, which he enjoyed, and the house made chips(Yum!). The cheese pizza automatically comes sprinkled with hot pepper(love it!), but if you’re not into that make sure to tell them no on it. Go right down the steps afterwards and try some of the BEST cookies ever! They are SO worth the calories. If you dine at this place often(or at any of the other Lettuce Entertain You restaurants) then the Lettuce Entertain You membership is worth the price! We often rack up rewards, and even get free meals on our birthdays and anniversary!

Due our bad experience we got invited here so they could make it up for us. This time the pizza was delicious with hot anchovies and full of cheese. This is what a real pizza is. I’m happy that the bad memory was cleaned from my mind with a great one now. Good place. And the service was great! Thanks guys.

Had an invitation to return here again and give it another go. The anchovies listed on their menu are a special white variety that are meant to be served cold. I was expecting those little brown swimmers before, so management actually took the liberty of special ordering those in for my revisit!!! This was the best pizza I’ve ever had in LA. Finally a crispy yet chewy crust with light air bubbles interwoven throughout. Brown anchovies that seamlessly married into the perfect balance of cheese and sauciness, with leaves of basil to add a slight sweet and herbaceous flavor into the mix. This is what pizza is like outside of California… cheese being a key element and all. We also had some wonderful special of the night which included new potatoes with pesto and some other flavors. Perfect app to start off a carb-filled night of happiness. I want to tip my hat to the management of this location and restaurant group for your hospitality. Service was excellent and I’m happy to recommend anyone to stop in here for a good meal.

Venue is cute, service was good, food was good, sodas were flat. I liked that the pizza ovens were open and viable for guests to view. It brings another level of liveliness to the setting. Lighting is good, prices are fair. Pizzas are very thin, but this seems to be Stella barra’s thing. There was very little sauce on the pizzas I ordered, which I didn’t like, but I’m sure this isn’t always the case. I would definitely go again for drinks and pizza after work if someone proposed it but I probably wouldn’t be the one to suggest it.

Since M Street Kitchen was too busy on a Sunday at noon, we opted for Stella Barra. I was concerned whether they had any gluten-free options but the hostess assured me they had plenty. We were seated and our table ordered about 5-pizzas and my gluten-free pizza. 30 – 35 minutes later all pizzas had been rolled out and I had checked about 15-minutes earlier the status on my pizza. They assured me it was coming out but that it takes a little longer due to the crust. Everyone had finished their meal and my pizza was nowhere to be seen. I asked again and they said it was coming out. I was like and my table was like, «Uhh, this is kind of pointless, everyone is already done!» So, I decide to get up and ask the manager about things, same response. Finally, we’re all complaining and I go up to our waitress who is coming over simultaneously and responds that she wants to take care of things at this point. She suggests the Brussel sprouts as complimentary and that she’ll put an egg over it as well. Fiinally my long-awaited Venice Beach pizza minus the white yolk arrives. Our waitress had assured me it would still have the bacon even though she had changed it from a Venice Beach to a Shaved Mushroom but it was still missing. And the Brussel sprouts arrived shortly after minus the egg which had been promised as well. Ahhh, I know they tried to make it up with the comp food after the entire party had finished eating and I did appreciate it, but 2-things wrong in the order can’t exactly push this restaurant 4-stars, as much as I want to. Thanks for trying!

Ehh one thing I can say about this place is that it’s overrated and overpriced af. We had two pizzas: the pepperoni and the mushroom pizza. The pizzas weren’t bad but they weren’t good either plus they were a little small on the portion size. The sauce they used tasted like they were higher quality and home made instead of the ones from the cans. The ingredients tasted fresh but overall the pizzas as a whole were nothing special because I’ve had better. Honestly, of the two, I prefer the pepperoni because the mushroom had a really strong mushroom and cheesy, garlic flavor I didn’t like at all. The drinks were okay, one of the sea salt latte was really good honestly. At the end of the meal, our bill came to $ 55 which was way too expensive for 2 pizzas and 1 Caesar salad.

I really wanted to like this place. They have an adorable herb garden outside, it’s always crowded and it simply looks like an inviting neighborhood joint. I’ll begin my review with a disclaimer: we ordered takeout, and that was our only experience with them(and will likely remain that way, at least for awhile). My fiancé ordered pizza for our two hungry families, drove to a store on the other side of Santa Monica(taking a solid half hour), and then was still forced to wait another 40 minutes when he arrived at Stella Barra. They kept promising his order would be «ready in 5 minutes,» which turned into 20 and then 40. He finally walked out with what looked to be a bunch of peoples’ respective orders pieced together, as they all had different names on the pizza boxes. We got 4 pizzas(they’re medium sized here) and 2 salads — that certainly shouldn’t take over an hour to make! When he finally got home with the pizza everyone was already cranky. When we opened the pizza it was very cold and due to its thin crust(usually a plus for us, when served warm!), it tasted mostly like cardboard. I had the marinara pizza, which I can say the sauce had some good heat too, but at that point, no one was too pleased. Salads were very regular, a few chickpeas added in, but again, felt very thrown together and underwhelming. At least it wasn’t terribly expensive?

No No No No No NONONONONONONONONONON. Don’t do it said my Unilocal friend JN, when I told her I am coming here. I said don’t worry, I ate here last year. I had gluten free pizza and it was good! She said don’t tell me you became LA and GF??? I said no, but the GF crust is really decent. This time I had the regular crust. No No No No No NONONONONONONONONONON Don’t do it says me. We had over baked pizzas that were dry. Not at all like our GF pizzas last year. If you come here go GF. It’s a four star. g oh PS the Kale salad was the bomb and brought this review up to a three star!
