Fresh, clean, and fair priced! Fed’s roll is awesome! Shishito pepper appetizer with the calamari pair excellently!

The food was delicious and fresh. The tempura was perfectly battered and remarkably light. Also, the shishito peppers may have been some of the best I’ve ever had. It’s definitely my new go-to on the Westside.

So excited about this restaurant. It’s exactly what Santa Monica needed– an awesome sushi joint. Located in the cute Ocean Park area, easy parking, great vibe, indoor and outdoor seating. Delicious food, awesome service(ask for TK), great apps, fresh sushi, and comfy setting. Loved the chef special roll, miso eggplant, veggie tempura, and salmon. So good and so reasonably priced. It’s definitely going to be my new sushi go to spot.

The manager is so chill and friendly. My former teacher apparently is both a regular customer and one of their first so she gets brownie points apparently? She brings all her complaints up front to him, which can come off as overbearing and even obnoxious, but the manager took everything in stride. He really welcomes and appreciates constructive feedback which I strangely admire. The guy also seems perpetually stressed out but that’s what happens when you run a business I guess. My teacher had a special chef that would prepare things especially for her, her specific tastes and needs always kept into consideration when making her plates(but the guy had to leave and moved to a different restaurant because his image wasn’t matching up with this restaurant’s, something deep like that). The other sushi chefs still there are just as willing to accommodate and match your personal tastes.(They really seem to care about their customers here!) The main reason why my teacher came here is probably because they serve spicy tuna on crispy rice which has become the symbol of our relationship(and also her paying for all my meals). This restaurant nails it. The place is nice and cozy and they have TVs so you can distract yourself from your food coma(I did). I will try more of their sushi in the future!

I go here every Saturday as pretty much a regular. The staff is very friendly, and the salmon sushi will blow you away. As well as the rice dipped in miso soup(an excellent combination). The salmon teriyaki is also very good, and so is the beef teriyaki.

First time, best sushi, great service, attractive staff, and 6 delicious hot sake carafe later, I am in love! Korean-speaking staff so listening to all the gossip is so interesting and fun! Maybe I will find my «oppa» here! Lol! Aigoo…

The food was pretty average and did not wow my pants off or anything, but it’s nice to have a new restaurant in the area. I found the sushi/sashimi prices to be somewhat steep. The other food is decent. My boyfriend ordered a big bowl of udon with beef for $ 15 and was full and satisfied. I’ve ordered sashimi or sushi on the times I’ve been and was satisfied. The place is dead in the evening which makes me think it might be more of a lunch spot. For the prices they should work on the ambience a bit as it feels pretty stale in there.

Great quality sushi! I am very sensitive to fishy taste in sushis but their sushi was fresh and had no fishy taste at all. I had shishito peppers for the first time with their recommendation and it was so delicious. Will definitely order it again next time. Service was great. Wish the place was closer to where I live so i can come here more often

Very good sushi and cold beer. I had a delicious $ 13 lunch Bento box and a $ 1 Kiren beer. Pretty unbeatable price and quality of food and beer with polite and prompt service. There is a dark counter sushi bar with cushy booth seating against the glass wall and multiple wood tables and chairs. Highly recommend checking out this Ocean Park sushi spot.

Bento box at lunch with uni and you can’t go wrong. Oscar is the man and an awesome food server. Everyone who works here is awesome too. Me and my co-workers are fortunate to work across the street, so we eat here 3 – 4 times per week. Yeah, this place is that legit. I always order the bento box with salmon teriyaki, tempura and a shrimp tempura roll. I’ve also tried the yellowtail nigiri which is yummy. We never have to wait much or at all for a table. Love this place so much!

Great food, good portions, good ambiance. A very satisfying meal. I got a roll and a spicy tuna appetizer, and both were excellent. Normally I find it hard to get a satisfying meal without paying for lots of rolls, but this roll was a full meal, and for just 15 bucks. Just order one when you go. You can also watch the chef prepare the sushi and talk to him about it, which was cool.
I would say Tkyo House is your run of the mill sushi restaurant. I feel like the crowds might be more frequent during the day from the office parks, but we went in the evening and there was essentially only us and one other party at the restaurant, so if you’re in a bind and need somewhere to eat, this place seems to have plenty of space. i opted for the chirashi bowl. Pretty standard. I wouldn’t say I was wow-ed by the quality of the fish, but it comes with your standard tuna, salmon, yellowtail, tamago, etc(no roe though). It was just under $ 20 and I was definitely full. However, I would probably venture to other sushi places since we’re so close to places like Sawtelle.

I’ve been here twice for lunch and thought it was great both times. The bento box, which is $ 13 for lunch, had a ton of options/combinations: your choice of 3 items from small appetizers, sushi, rolls, teriyaki and tempura — and comes with miso soup, salad with a light ginger dressing, pickled cucumbers, rice and marinated bean sprouts. Today I also ordered the tofu steak and it was so good! Might be one of the better things I’ve had here — large pieces of tofu with marinated mushrooms in a honey-soy sauce. It was really delicious. The service is great — so sweet and friendly to my toddler boy, who loves to smile and flirt with the waitstaff! I’m so glad this restaurant is across from Clover Park — I’ll be taking my son here a lot from now on!

This… place…is…the…jam! I give the hostesses, the food, and the chef(Frederico) two thumbs up. I wish I had more hands. This place is now my favorite sushi place in Santa Monica. The chef is previously of Nobu out of Las Vegas and the man is incredible at what he does. While eating at the bar I told him what I typically like to order and he created something on the spot that was hands down one of the most exquisite(yes I had to bust out the word exquisite) and yummiest rolls I have ever had(while using black rice). My mind was legitimately blown. As a person who likes to help other people make good decisions… I highly recommend you go and check this place out.

Good sushi, but way too expensive. More like a $$$ place really, not $$. Their fish is of excellent quality but personally I find their menu inconsistent and confusing. At one hand you have ‘simple’ sushi’s with excellent quality fish, which to me is the essence of Japanese cuisine. At the other hand you have these flashy Americanized rolls where a lot is going on: baked onions(?), some kind of sauce, lots of ingredients stuffed in the roll… It’s weird. At some point I ordered the $ 16 tuna sashimi and ended up drinking lots of water to counter the spicy sauce and wading through the not-so-interesting salad. Such a waste of quality tuna! Sashimi should be simple and a restaurants signature of quality fish. You can see their chefs know how to make good sushi but it seems as if they don’t know how to position their menu. Also know that this restaurant does not serve juices or alcohol. You either drink tea, water of a sugary drink.

Spicy tuna here is off the chain. Great customer service. Gets super busy around lunch time as all the businesses are getting off too lunch. Only thing is, it’s a bit pricier than I expected.

I’ve been for lunch and dinner a few times. Today I went for lunch. We sat down and waited. I saw a waiter go buy who ignored us and then I saw a big table of about 8 all of whom who still had their menus out and looked like they had been waiting a while. You can’t afford to wait for over at lunch. We up and left and went to Miyako a block away and had a great bento box lunch that was quicker and cheaper. Tkyo House is basically Miyako with worse service and higher prices, but better real estate.

I was reading the reviews from my fellow Unilocalers and excited to try a new sushi restaurant. I ordered the Fred’s roll and the Crunchy Roll. Both rolls were good, fish quality was very good but I found the rolls very small and expensive, $ 15.00 each. I had to pay a few dollars extra for real crab on the Crunchy Roll. After dropping $ 30 on two rolls, I left still very very hungry. Either the rolls need to get bigger or the prices need to come down.

We went on a Friday night and sat down right away. The room is not very large, we sat at the bar. Really eclectic roll menu. A lot of specialty rolls. Delicious. The servers looked a bit overwhelmed and we did have to wait for water. But the sushi chef was lovely and made our rolls in perfect order. The price point is also good. Definitely recommend.
