This place is awesome. The wait staff are kind of oblivious to your needs, but the food is awesome.

My go to sushi joint whenever im in Santa Monica. Service and quality is always consistent. Their crispy ricy with spicy tuna is the best by far. Indoor décor is modern and vibe is on pointt

Best shishito peppers ever. We got the spicy tuna roll and vegetable roll, both very good. This is our new Santa Monica sushi spot.

I am a sushi addict and Sushi Sen on Main has become my to go spot. I have been living in the neighborhood for over 5 years and although I visit all the sushi places I found myself craving this place over and over, the fish just keeps getting better. I love their normal Salmon and their Seared Salmon. Blue fin tuna and Uni have nothing to envy to a Roku or any other spot in Santa Monica. The sushi chefs are personable and I always feel very well treated. My favorite time to go is on weekdays

I’m sorry I really don’t understand why this place has such great reviews. The service is fine. The price is fine. But the fish is gross! I feel like I’m this area one has such a high standard for dinning out(I do, there are soooo many amazing paces in this small radius) and this place is just not good. Honestly I have had better sushi at a grocery store. But I’m kinda a sushi snob. Sorry but I will not be going back.

I’m there almost every week with the lady for the 9:30 happy hour, lots of great menu items at half price including the best crispy rice spicy tuna I’ve ever had. I usually go for the happy hour but the menu items are reasonably priced. In this reviewers humble opinion, this is the best sushi spot in the Los Angeles area.

They’re supposed to close 11pm, I got there 9.50pm and they said they had just closed the kitchen. Ridiculous. We’ll see what the owner thinks when I call tomorrow.

Wow, this place went downhill fast! Prices went up considerably, service was horrible, and they started closing up early on Sat night at 10:45! Made us feel really unwelcome. Sad, this was a good place before. What happened? :(

Nice little quaint spot. Sushi Rolls were good, shrimp dumplings were ok and the Shrimp Tempura was a little doughy, but over all a good atmosphere. I would come again just to rate it(hopefully better) next go round. The only negative is that our waitress who waited on us the first 15 minutes bounced and didn’t even tell us that she was leaving. We noticed her handbag and coat strapped on and she was waving good bye and hugging her colleagues, but made no acknowledgement to us. So we sat at the Sushi bar with our menu completed and waited to order. My husband finally got the attention of the Sushi Chef and another waiter came by and finished the service. This place is very clean and modern in décor and has a nice comfy/cozy feel to it.

Great food, and easy to snag a table, even if you have a relatively larger group. Friendly servers, and a great location in SM too. If we’re down for sushi, this will be added to our rotation of spots. :)

Really simple and dim. I ordered the salmon tempura roll(never experienced anything like this, really cool) and from dusk till dawn(spicy but balanced so you can taste the flavors). Filling and happy.

Had the Rock and Roll and the Kiss of Fire and they were both delicious. MUSTNOTE that kitchen closes at 10PM, so do not expect to be served past then.

Service is pretty good and food is average but nothing amazing, small place but no line usually. The bathroom is so hot for some reason, feels like a sauna in there. Good place to come to if you’re local and in the mood for sushi but it’s nothing to rave about, oh and they no longer allow you to bring in your own alcohol anymore like they used to

This is a very nice place with a good choice of rolls. I took Eel&avocado and California rolls. They were fresh and tasty, but I would prefer to have more eel inside. Miso soup was also delicious and not too salty. They have a couple of tables outdoor, so I sat at one of them: nice view at Main Street. So this is the place where I will definitely come back!

First off: hamachi Kama and Garlic spicy edamame Get the fresh chopped Wasabi — flavor sensation Popcorn lobster roll and Then the«Baked Alaskan roll» not on menu but one of their best *they will make!* And I just love that they play usual downtempo but always quality techno tracks :) a very good playlist to not feel like Sunday is the end of the weekend! My personal favorite sushi place of my life thus far.

I had been wanting to visit this place for a while as I’ve walked past it all the time and it’s right next to where I get my nails done. Finally, I had the chance to come in to lunch. They are no longer BYOB and have a liquor license. WEORDERED: EDAMAME: Okay, I always gripe about not enough salt on edamame. But this was honestly really good edamame. There was enough salt and it was enough for four of us to split. MISOSOUP: One of my friends claims that this is the first miso soup he’s ever had, which I can’t believe. He really liked it. Looked like good miso. WAKAMESALAD: Big portion and was very fresh. Loved it. SWEETGINGERTOFUSTEAK: I really liked this. I poured the sauce on some sushi rice I ordered and it was nice although sweet. The tofu did not get soggy and it was not too spicy or sweet with the tofu. I’d order this again. CUCUMBER /AVOCADO ROLL: The cucumber avocado roll is the same price as the avocado roll so I thought, hey why not get this one. I actually liked it. The rolls here are pretty big and filling. I only needed one with the rest of my food to be happy. Fresh and did not fall apart. KAMIKAZEROLL: My friends ordered 3 other rolls, but the only one I remember them ordering was the Kamikaze roll. He REALLY enjoyed this roll and said it was super good. I think he also ordered some kind of spicy tuna roll and said it was pretty spicy. YAKISOBA: My brother ordered the yakisoba and really loved it. Other people who tasted it also liked it. I had a bite and it had good texture and a good amount of flavor. I’d recommend this one. SUSHIRICE: Was nice and tasty. I didn’t think it was too sticky and it was light. Overall, I think I found my new favorite Japanese place in Santa Monica/Venice. I’ll definitely be back.

My new favorite spot in my area. I feel like I say this after every Sushi review, because honestly there are a lot of sushi spots in Santa Monica. This time, I really, really mean it. They have a rice less section, really fresh specials, and all the bad stuff I like. My favorite part was there real wasabi alternative concoction salsa thing. I like spicy stuff and it hit the spot. Going forward every time I get sushi I’m getting it with the salsa wasabi stuff(in addition to the side of sriracha). My favorites were their Jessica Alba roll and the Spanish Mackerel. Both had some mustardy pairing thing that just made it pop. Great Sushi, friendly staff and awesome place to chill on main. Good for booze and watching a game. Even better as a starting point for a late night on Main street. I needed a place like this and I’m happy I found it. They got a new regular.

Came to Tsukiji Sushi Sen to get my post-workout grub on. We ordered: Wakame Salad Sauteed Miso Eggplant Yellowtail & Scallion Roll Udon The wakame salad was delicious, exactly what I had wanted. It had the right amount of vinegar-y flavor along with some sweetness and crunch. The eggplant was okay, but the miso glaze was a little weird for me. I ended up scraping most of the sauce off because it was too thick and sweet. I wasn’t a fan of the flavor combinations. As for the roll, the yellowtail tasted fresh. I of course dipped it in my soy sauce/wasabe combo and topped it with a few pieces of ginger – YUM! I am a huge fan of soups and noodles and noodle soups. Their udon did not disappoint. The broth was full of flavor and the noodles were cooked perfectly. I will definitely be back for this. Service was attentive, although they forgot a couple things we asked for. Huge plus that they had the Lakers game playing, even though we are not doing the best this year. Tons of parking on at meters or nearby lots.
