Wilshire Coin

Today I went in with my husband for the first time and wow I’m impressed. We went in to purchase various items and everyone that crossed our path working at the store was extremely helpful. As well I now understand a lot more about jewelry and coins.

I came here to see how much I could get for some coins my great grandfather gave me. The guy who was with me was very friendly and explained everything in detail. Very good place.

Awesome and very HONEST. I worked with Justin and I had boxes of mixed coins uncirculated, some gold. In the box it was a mess. I was not organized. Justin spent about 1.5 hours just organizing the coins. Once that was done I must say a very good price was quoted and given. He was patient and very informative. I was in the room for 3 hours as I had a lot of stuff.
So YES I highly recommend!

This place is great! Totally trustworthy, kind and down-​to-​earth guys. Justin was wonderful in sorting through the bag of jewelry I brought in and honestly explaining why things did or did not have value. He helped me assess what to sell and what to hang on to and I felt very fairly compensated for the items I sold. Will definitely use them again.

I recently went to sell some jewelry, and Justin assisted me. He was both personable and informative on the process, and I was happy with price they paid. I would definitely do business there again.

I had some inherited silver and commemorative coins taking up space that I wanted to exchange for some older silver coins and cash. I took some samples into the shop and spoke with John Green who was friendly and cordial. The place felt secure and it looked like I could get a fair price. I returned later this afternoon with the boxes of goods and was met by a very nice younger man whose name I have forgotten. He brought me into a small wood-​paneled room where we could go through everything. The whole process was smooth and efficient. The total was a pleasant surprise, so I spent about a third of it on some fun silver coins I’ll use as gifts and for playing poker.
I’d highly recommend this place if you want safety, efficiency, and a fair deal. Oh, and friendly service.

We had a mens wedding ring that had been sitting in a box for 13 years collecting dust. After a Unilocal search, I decided to try Wilshire Coin based on their reviews. It was pretty busy when I arrived, but Tom greeted me at the counter as soon as he was finished with his previous customer. I waited maybe 30 seconds. Really personable (everyone there was very friendly), chatted with me while he went over my jewelry. Gave me a good price on the ring (more than we expected) and I walked out with cash in hand.
I also want to mention that when you walk in, you feel very comfortable. There is no «sleaze» factor, or hard salesmanship. No explanation of why your product is worth nothing, just good information about why it is worth what it is worth.
In our chatting, I had told Tom that we were traveling to Canada. Tom let me know that they do currency exchange here at better rates than you will find at the bank or airport. I had done a bit of research on the exchange rate their prices were really close to what I had already set up in Canada. I didn’t take him up on the offer because I didn’t need it, but it’s great to know in the future if I ever want to gift currency to a friend who is traveling overseas!

Dealt with Tom today — fantastic service! Came in with a bag of (mostly) organized older coins. Tom went through them all, explained to me exactly what I had and what it was worth to them. The price they gave me was 100% in line with what my online research had lead me to expect. Tom took the time, walked through almost every piece, and I walked out knowing I had been respected as a seller.
This is a terrific company, and with honorable, ethical, top-​notch people. Highly recommend!

Wow. Just wow. I am so impressed, by not only the inside of this place (elegant, clean and spacious) but also with the gentleman who helped us, Justin Glick. He was such a wonderful experience as far as patience and knowledge goes. I am new to the coin collecting world and where most people would have been frustrated or annoyed being asked so many «beginner» questions, he was thorough and kind in answering my questions. He also gave, what seemed to be, honest advice. He didn’t try and sell me anything or seem pushy. In fact, when I mentioned that the only reason I was really there was for the free silver certificate that they offered per check in on Unilocal,he didn’t seem too bothered by that. My mother and my son were also with me and he was so pleasant with all of us, even with my 1 ½ year old who became a little fussy and wanted to run around. The fact that it’s family owned as well is the cherry on top. Go to this place and experience a great customer experience. Not to mention go get your FREE certificate!

I had an antique engagement ring and wedding band to sell, and came here after seeing the positive reviews on Unilocal.I was helped by John Green, who looked at the diamond and gave me an estimate. It seemed like a good price, but I still wanted a second opinion, and went to a jeweler in the diamond district who was recommended by a good friend. They gave me a price that was $ 800 lower than Wilshire Coin’s price. When I told them that I had already taken it elsewhere for an estimate they suddenly came up $ 700. I went back to Wilshire Coin, and John not only honored his original estimate but gave me an additional $ 150. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone!

They are fair and efficient at Wilshire coin, and when I had a specific special request they delivered! I needed a 1978 gold Soveriegn for a friend for her birthday, and Wilshire Coin helped me make her birthday wish come true!

The customer service was impeccable! Went in with old coins circa 64 and lower and got the max after being told some bs elsewhere. The staff was very helpful and nice. Couldn’t ask for a better experience. Worth the drive to Santa Monica! Thanks Justin

This was actually not our first choice when my boyfriend and I set out to sell some scrap jewelry today. The place we were originally going to go to was unexpectedly closed, so went down the street to Wilshire Coin.
It was a very professional establishment. We got in and out quickly, the service was excellent, we were helped by Justin, who made us feel welcome and gave us a very fair price for our jewelry. Plus, we were paid in cash! They used the latest tools and high tech equipment which assured me I wasn’t getting ripped off. I am really glad we ended up coming here because I am not so sure I we would have gotten as good of a price for our jewelry had we gone somewhere else.

Thanks, Wilshire Coin, for being so fair and ethical. This is the place to go if you want to buy or sell precious metals, coins, jewelry and other personal treasures. I’ve been dealing with them for several years and they are exceptionally honorable.
P. S.–They even have the metal box that was used in Harry Houdini’s East River stunt on display in the store.

This place is really trustable. They don’t try to cheating you like most of other gold exchange places. They offered me fair price. All good, highly recommend.

Both gentlemen were very helpful, honest, and knowledgeable about the ring /​diamond industry. I ended up purchasing a beautiful diamond from Wilshire Coin and was referred to a jeweler who made an absolutely beautiful, 100%, 1-​of a kind custom ring at a very reasonable price.
