We tried this place for the first time last night and it was awesome! Some of the best combination chow mein I’ve had in the Santa Rosa area. We’ll definitely be going back!

Seriously tasty soup! I’ve had the Sizzling Rice Soup and the Wor Won Ton. I love all the fresh veggies and perfectly balanced broth!

This is very small restaurant, but it has outdoor seating as well. The restaurant is very clean and the focus is on organic/healthy Chinese food. I’ve been here a few times and the food is ALWAYS delicious. The only drawback to why I don’t eat here more often is that it’s on 4th st. next to Russian River Brewery. It’s sometimes hard to find parking. But we’ve always had really good food here, so. .. we’ll probably eat here again, but only if earlier in the evening. The service is good, and again, the food is more upscale/healthy Chinese. A definite plus! Try this restaurant. It’s good!

I don’t know how I did í but I ended up spending 28 bucks on a meal for one to go. I ordered 3 things I thought were small but they ended up being huge portions. I really like this place. So I guess I have lunch for tomorrow. :)

I came here late at night(8pm) the only Chinese place near me that was open! I ordered the meal for one person; which included the following: –wonton soup –fried rice –2 egg rolls –main dish(I ordered the cashew chicken) The soup was really hot! Which was nice(usually places have lukewarm soup). There was plenty of cashew chicken; which was fairly decent; although I have had better. Unfortunately I felt that there wasn’t enough brown rice :(parking is free after 6, and the owner is the chef. The place itself is pretty clean, and the waiter was really nice, and polite. If you often find yourself having a craving for Chinese food, and nothing else is open; then definitely come here

The food was delicious, ordered the orange sesame chicken, general chicken, & beef chow mien. Prices were reasonable & portion were a bit small. The waiter was nice & knew the menu well. All in all it is a great place to eat Chinese food when you are in downtown Santa Rosa.

typical chinese resturant. Their Manchurian beef was overcooked and it was too expensive for what we got

Wonderful dinning experience, the restaurant atmosphere was cozy and the service delightful. The menu has plenty of options and does a masterful job of exciting the pallet. Will definitely be returning here again.

This restaurant has been here forever. Went a few nights ago at about 6:30 on a Thursday and no one else was there. I was nervous. We ordered the big dinner for three. The po po appetizer platter was amazingly good. The pot stickers were light, crisp and delicious. Fried chicken wings tender and juicy, egg rolls good and the fried shrimp perfectly done. The noodles, the soup, the chicken dishes were all different, tasted wonderfully and beautifully cooked. We were impressed by the freshness, the variety of flavors and the generous portions. Definitely going to come back.

I’ve been very happy with the service here. I pick up food for my coworkers almost daily, and it’s always ready on time and they know me by sight now! My coworkers and I love the food here, it’s very good. :)

Instead of writing a negative review about the horrible Chinese we just had in Sebastopol, I’m going to write a great one about Ting Hau! It is the best! Always very very fresh, absolutely the BEST hot and sour soup ever. Perfect chow mein with all the right veggies, and perfectly cooked meat. Thank you Ting Hau, we will be driving the extra 15 minutes to Santa Rosa to get your delish food!

Great place for healthy Chinese food!, Wait, sounds like a catch 22 right? Well I am here to say that I am thrilled I can get this type of Chinese Food. They use lots of fresh ingredients and offer many vegetarian entrees. Prices are great too. Also, the restaurant offers a calm ambience not found in most Chinese restaurants. It was a quiet night when we were there, I think everyone was Christmas shopping at the mall. Service was quick and friendly too. I will return…

I’ve had Chinese all over the world(the Irish love it) and this is the best, perhaps because a real chef creates this comfort food without MSG. Mu Shu Pork is my favourite. I recommend this restaurant to all my friends in Sonoma County, CA.

Loved our meal and service. Chef’s special chicken and prawn in plum sauce plus rice, soup, and egg roll was fabulous. Will definitely come back.

Clean dining room. Nice people. Good food. Generous portions. Low prices. My personal vote for the #1 Chinese restaurant in Santa Rosa is still Kirin on Yulupa ave. Yet, Ting Hau comes in a close 2nd. My wok cooked beef & firm organic tofu was quite satisfying. Oyster sauce was pleasing, not cloying. I’m trying to eat healthy but I’m a sucker for the small pile of crispy fried won tons on the plate, sinfully delicious. The bright dining room is tastefully decorated, walls are a calm beige color, it’s clean, & smells good. If the weather is nice and you like watching the bevy of denizens walking by, there’s the open air dining patio. Downtown does have its share of wild & woolies cruising the sidewalks — It’s free entertainment, enjoy. Nice service people are well dressed in uniforms. They’re kind, smart & efficient. My large belly was filled to capacity for $ 9.40 with tax. I felt like Diamond Jim Brady by leaving a 30% tip. You want Chinese food in downtown Santa Rosa? Eat here, you’ll like.

This is not for the food so much as for the owners. I had a Grade A urination emergency going on and the closest place I saw that could solve this problem without getting registered as a sex offender for public urination was this restaurant. I went inside and saw the woman owner sitting with a little boy. The woman quickly got up and ran to the back, leaving the little boy to greet me. I asked the little boy as politely as possible without urinating my pants if I could use the restroom. He said yes and gave me directions to it. A minute after closing the door and opening the firehose flow into the urinal, someone started banging on the door and yelled«WHENYOUAREDONEYOUMUSTPAYONEDOLLAR!!» You’ve got to be kidding me. I know some places don’t want vagrants destroying their bathroom, but my general attitude is that it’s good business to build goodwill by not harassing someone who MIGHT turn into a customer and allow them to use the restroom. One dollar wouldn’t have mattered, but it’s the principle of the matter, dude. I finished my business and walked straight out, to a flurry of yelling in Chinese. If that’s how they treat people, they don’t deserve your business.

*Sighing* I came here on a Monday because Gary Chou’s wasn’t opened on Monday. My coworker and I came for takeout for lunch. Service… The service left something to be desired but I can get over mediocre service if the foood is good. I ordered the Szechuan beef. I expected to get pieces of crispy beef in a spicy and sweet garlicky sauce like I have come to expect from good a chinese restaurant. Well the beef was stir fried in a greasy watery sauce that left much to be desired. I feel my stomach rumbling as we speak. The soup of the day was hot and sour. I opened it and it smelled really funny and had a very watery consistency. The flavor was just okay. I didn’t want to put forth the effort to spoon more bites so I moved on to the above referenced«Szechuan Beef.» The fried rice tasted like Panda Express’ fried rice but clumpy and blotchy brown and white. I should have know better. The prices are good, service is a meh, location is good. The fortune cookie was good. Won’t be coming again.

The ambiance leaves something(OK a lot) to be desired. Don’t be fooled. I grew up in San Francisco, eating some of the best Chinese food in the country(at least in my opinion, which is what Unilocal is all about, right?) Ting Hau’s food is purely amazing. We eat there(or take out) several times a year and we have never had anything less than _amazing_food. My two personal favorites are the hot braised tofu(I get it extra spicy) and the hot and sour soup. If you order to go, call ahead and it is usually done in 15 minutes.

Poor service, bland to bad food. I thought that by the number of people dining there, that the food would actually be decent. I was fairly let down. It’s also not cheap for what you get! In the East Bay a similar lunch would have been 25% less. Huge mehhhhhhhh. I’d go anywhere else before trying this place again.
