I’ve never seen so much school integrity and spirit as I have experienced at Staump Music School. The commitment that Tim, Wes and Marissa Rose have to the students is second to none. Thank you for providing the best training to my little queen to climb the guitar ladder even higher and get a richer tone in her voice. Staump is the place to go if you want to grow as a young artist.

Last year I decided to put my son(7 years old at the time) in private drum lessons, but I wasn’t too sure if it was a good idea at that age. My son is a typical young boy that gets distracted easily, but Wes is awesome at keeping him on track. Before the drum lessons my son had a definite interest in drumming but didn’t know how to play, now he’s learning to read the music and is starting to actually play. Eventually my oldest daughter seen how much her brother was enjoying the lessons and decided to join the beginner guitar class with Rachel, and can’t wait until the next class begins. I waited a little while to write a review and I’m glad I did because now I can comment on the fall concert they did at Greenfield Middle School. The concert was nothing less than awesome… incredible…WOW. Staump is not a music school, Staump is a school of transformation. If your kid has 1oz. of talent or desire the teachers at Staump will bring amazing results out of them.

Staump Productions uses a curriculum and standard that is designed for the masses. It’s not designed toward the personalization I would except from a learning center of this caliber. With the arts being removed and rapidly cut in the public school systems, I thought it would be important to expose my son at an early age to music, so he could discover on his own the true power behind music. However, placing my trust in Staump Productions to be the experts in their field, I assume they would be the best choice to help my son learn in a way that would lead him to his true discovery of music. That doesn’t seem to be the case from my point of view. They are more focused on teaching kids to perform a three minute and forty seven second song based on today’s top 40 songs rather than teaching on the basics to learn how to sing. The solid proof to me was realized when I read the following statement from an instructor«…learning your lyrics is still a fairly important part of putting on a performance, as any singer will say the same.» While I agree that is a true statement, it’s only true when you are already considered a «singer.» Where I disagree, is when a student is trying to be a singer the lessons cannot only be focused on the lyrics. Additionally more proof became clear with the following statement as well, «If [your son] decides he wants to continue singing somewhere else, I would like to suggest that he joins a choir somewhere. He still gets the opportunity to sing, but there is less pressure in a group setting. It’s a good place to start for students who want to sing but don’t feel ready to be front and center on stage. He can gain performance experience until he is comfortable with solo performances.» So in the end if you are wanting a place that focuses on solo performances and to get students ready for center stage, Staump Productions might be the correct place. However, if you are looking for a place to teach the basics that would hopefully inspire the student to want to learn more, not so much at Staump Productions.

Tim Staump taught me how to play percussion beginning way back in 2000 and on through about 2006⁄2007. I took private lessons off and on through middle and high school. He is a great guy, incredibly talented, and really knows his stuff. I was curious if he was still around, took to Google, and here he is, still making music and teaching kids — and now making a true business of it. He is a great guy and was a great influence on me, and I am very happy to endorse him as a great music teacher for people of all ages. I always felt safe and respected and he was incredibly patient even though after years of playing I still couldn’t keep myself from rushing the beat forward haha. If you or your kid want to learn how to play an instrument, Tim will make it happen and make sure you have fun and understand the value of what you are learning.

Staump Productions is a great place for music lessons(Piano, Guitar, Bass, Trumpet, Drums, Saxaphone, Violin and Voice) along with a full scale recording and music production studio. Tim and Maria Staump are the owners with Tim being a professional drummer and musician and Maria being a professional singer and musician. Lessons are very reasonable and follow professional musical teaching standards and guidelines. My kids have been taking lessons and have shown great progress in a very short time… I highly recommend them!!!
