Don’t get your hopes up when walking into this popular lunch spot, even though the friendly staff will treat you like royalty, your legendary meal might be an epic fail. Legends Café is famous for their«Create Your Own Salad» options, as these made-to-order salads are always available with countless options to customize a salad anyway you can imagine. Beware, their unique salad toppings can be quite costly if you go overboard.(I learned this the hard way when they totaled up my custom salad for $ 19!) Also, their delivery service is often hit or miss, and with a $ 10 minimum for delivery it’s not uncommon they would make mistakes for larger orders. Embarrassingly, the building Legends is located in, has horrible curb appeal. I’m anxiously awaiting for the local SWAT team to break down the door on the second-story in an attempt to bust a group of heroin dealers, only to discover it’s a 90-year-old woman’s studio apartment who is just two stray cats shy of starring in an episode of extreme hoarders. The interior dining area could use some serious updates as well, as it has always been clean and neat when I’ve visited, but I rarely see anyone ever eating there. They have an outdoor deck in the back for additional seating that overlooks their very tight and limited parking lot. Legends has several cleverly named«the» sandwiches, wraps, and burgers. Sadly, this is where Legends falls short, lost a star from me, and might have most of their legends turning in their graves. I’ve ordered their sliders & fries combo a couple times, and both times the burgers were flavorless, served with soggy fries. «The Pacino» wrap might bring the«Heat», but the sauce is far too watery and leave out the celery! Their subs are generously packed with toppings, and I’d recommend«The Belushi» and«The Hammerin’ Hank» for anyone looking to up their cholesterol to the 300’s by the afternoon! Even though I might occasionally find a diamond in the rough at Legends Café, while trying a majority of their sandwiches and wraps, I’m too often disappointed to return frequently.

The worst food I have ever eaten in Saratoga Springs. My boyfriend and I have lived here for over 20 years. They should be ashamed of themselves for serving what they do and for all of you that say it’s good you should be ashamed of yourselves for not knowing what decent food actually is. I would have rather stayed hungry.

Waited over an hour for our food and finally called them. They said they tried to call us but our phones show no call history. They said they left our food at the door… of the WRONGHOUSE. So, they never called and they just left some food at someone’s door. We wanted our money back and they said they couldn’t do that. We asked to speak to the owner and they said, «The delivery guy is the owner and I’m part owner.» Wow. I can’t believe how bad they are. ALSO. MYADDRESSISONMEALEOAND I DIDNOTJUSTENTERIT. Been frequenting Legend’s café for lunch over the last 2+ years. When I am in town I always make it a point to get my lunch or even dinner there. Their food is consistently fantastic, fresh and delicious. The sandwiches are so good on fresh rolls with tasty ingredients. My favorite is the Bradshaw with fresh roasted turkey, brie and homemade honey mustard, but ALL of the cold and hot sandwiches, wraps and panini are delicious. Their salads are awesome too. Generous portions of fresh lettuce, big variety of add-ins and great dressing choices. Choose one from the menu or have them build your own selection. The soups and deli salads are delicious too. The owners and staff are great and the service is fast and friendly. The prices are very reasonable AND they also have a rewards program where you earn points for every sandwich, wrap, Panini or salad and get one free for every 10 points you earn.

We ordered a burger and Ruben sandwich for delivery. When they arrived, the delivery man was extremely nice and professional, the food was amazing and it is reasonably priced. It is hard to get a burger and fries for delivery without them being soggy when they come but my burger was perfect and the fries were amazing. The Ruben was one of the best we’ve ever had. This was our first experience with Legends but we will be sure to continue to order from them!

I think that legends has great food and I am never disappointed with how it turns out. However, I am almost deterred from going there due to the service. The female who is always behind the counter is always miserable and makes being there uncomfortable. That aside, I do like the food!

Ordered their Turkey BLT sandwich and it was amazing(turkey sandwich with lettuce, tomato, bacon & mayo — not turkey bacon) We will definitely be coming here again!

I’ve ordered delivery from Legends on two occasions. The food is delicious, standard deli type sandwiches, with fun entertaining names. Friendly customer service on the phone. There is a $ 10 delivery minimum, which is completely reasonable. My only complaint is the delivery took an hour and a half, it was a little longer than I’d expect to wait for a sandwich delivery, but it probably means they are busy which is always a good sign about quality! I’d like to have an opportunity to dine in soon.

Was told to grab a bite here from my friend, so I went there for lunch today. It was the best sandwich I have had in a long time and I’ve already been telling people that they need to stop by and try it! Friendly service, great food, and quickly made!

I have avoided Legends because I assumed from the name it was a divey sports bar, but it got my attention when some internet list said it had one of the best college town sandwiches in America. So yesterday I went to check it out. Went with my standard, the Italian mix, which is here called the«Stallion». Nothing to complain about except maybe the roll, which was a little on the crusty vs puffy side, and it was a big plus that I was able to load up the heat with cherry peppers at no extra charge. A big is $ 7.99 which is a fair value; a small is $ 6.99 so you’re better off getting the big and(if you’re not particularly hungry) saving half for a midnight snack. They also have daily specials, typically a choice of a sandwich and a panini, for less. You can dine in if you want, though décor is zippo.(Not a sports legend in sight.) My take out order was ready in under 5 minutes even though they were busy. On a scale where Subway is 3 and Roma is 5, Legends gets a solid 4. p. s. The sandwiches on that list are the Bradshaw and the Hammerin’ Hank. Oh, wait those are sports guys. Now I get it.

If you happen to order from here and get delivery, my recommendation would be to not prepay the tip. The tip was included in a delivery to Scribner tonight and the driver just handed the bag of food over(there is no obvious name on the paper bag from Legends) and took the tip offered, even though different roomies had ordered from different places, so the driver was tipped twice and said nothing.

Legends Café serves a a wide variety of unique hot subs. I usually order some kind of sub. I usually get the 86 Woodlawn. The subs are much better than those at franchised sub shops. I think the quality and variety is worth a little extra money. I recently tried a hamburger, and it was excellent. One of the best(top 5) burgers in the Saratoga area. Cooked to order, good size. I park on the street in front of Legends, as there is almost always a parking spot open nearby. This is a self– serve restaurant. You give then your order and they call you when it is ready. It may take a little while to get your food, but iit cooked to order and I don’t mind waiting for that.

We had Legends for lunch today, and they definitely make a pretty mean sandwich. I ordered the Babe, which had roast beef, bacon, cheddar cheese, red onions, and barbecue sauce … it was a flavor explosion in my mouth. Incredible. The prices do seem to be a bit on the high side. It was over $ 20 for two sandwiches, two bags of chips and two bottled sodas(hope you’re not thirsty; no fountain drinks = no refills). Also, the service was a tad on the slow side. One of our sandwiches came out several minutes before the other one, which leaves you deciding whether to let your food get cold or not actually eat with the person you’re dining with. All in all though, the delicious sandwiches will have me returning for more.

Legends have very delicious sandwiches. The Babe is very delicious. When our office orders from legends about half of the people get The Babe. The service is always fast and friendly. Plus they offer a 10% military discount.

I have been to Legends a few times and so far they have not disappointed. They have a large menu to choose from with a variety of options named after sports figures. My personal favorites: «The Tiger» and«The Perfect Payton». The Tiger: Shaved Steak, Melted Mozzarella on Garlic Bread with Brown Gravy. — Yes it tastes as good as you’d expect for a sandwich built on garlic bread. Top it off with gravy and you are in sandwich heaven. A true mouth-watering endeavor. The Perfect Payton: Hot Corned Beef, Melted Swiss, Sauerkraut, Russian Dressing. — My personal taste dictates getting this sandwich without the russian dressing. Sans dressing, it is still moist and delicious. Veggie Jackson: Grilled Eggplant, Zucchini, Portabllas, Roasted Reds and Caramelized Onions, Melted Provolone Cheese and Balsamic Vinaigrette. — I ordered this one on a wrap. It was a great-tasting option for someone trying to lose a few pounds. I am looking forward to trying more of the many items they have available.

The sandwiches I order are usually just okay. The ones the guys order are delicious. They order the heavy, saucey sammies with a bunch of different meats and melted, goopey cheese. I allow myself a bite or two of those. Otherwise, I usually order the lighter fare. Not the best, but okay. It is definitely expensive for the quality, service and setting. Usually, prices for sandwiches and salads that you see here are what’s charged at a place with table service. You order at the counter at this place. The workers are generally friendly. I think 3 stars is fair.

This is my first time in Saratoga Springs and I came across Legends Café because I needed food delivered. The menu looked delicious! I wanted to order everything on there, but I narrowed it down to Chicken and Dumplings Soup, the«Veggie» Jackson and the Namath. Let’s see… the soup was lukewarm and not flavorful although there was chicken and things to bite on in there. The Namath was OK… the bread was a bit soggy, but an overall good taste. The Veggie Jackson, my first choice, was… just plainly disgusting. I LOVE vegetables, but these grilled vegetables were so overcooked and soggy and the bread was horribly soggy. Point is… there are some good things, but… not really much good things. If you must eat here, get something with meat and eat it fast. Also, delivery was an hour+. =(

even though this place has recently come under new management, it seems as though very little about it has changed. they upped the prices just a bit, and a lot of the sports memorabilia is gone. i think saratoga springs has some of the best sandwiches around, especially for a city its size. unfortunately, legends fails to stand out among other establishments like romas, putnam, and peppers. they do a good sandwich though, dont get me wrong. my favorite is the jeter(chicken cutlet w/caesar dressing and romane). the best thing about legends is the build-your-own salad option, which usually turns out pretty well. its also reasonably priced, and they deliver for orders over $ 10.
