Closest thing to Starbucks in Saugatuck! That’s a compliment. Fresh coffee and great service.

Friendly and helpful staff. A Saugatuck must. Great desserts and muffins. I never leave town without a carrot cake muffin if I can help it. The best part is the deck is dog friendly. And trust if my dog was a better typist she would tell you she loves herself some fresh Uncommon water and treats.

You know when you have that day? Baby has thrown up all over you twice, toddler has asked why grapes are called grapes four thousand times, and the six year old is mad she can’t spin a bottle of hot pink paint around in the living room? Yeah. Just part of the cluster f my day has been today. Until this box of coffee showed up. Now, meh whatever vomit, grapes are called grapes because grapefruit was already taken, and sure go ahead and spin paint. Outside. Mommy is in her happy place with an amazing cup of coffee. Thanks guys, you(and my amazing sister who ordered the coffee for me) legit turned my day around.

I drive all the way to Saugatuck to check out this coffee shop. They roast onsite and seem to put a large amount of effort in to cultivating relationships with their coffee suppliers. They had a really large selection of roasted coffee beans for sale with a large diversity between single origin, origin blends, and some specialty roasts. They had some recents roasts available(6 – 8 days), but most of them were in the 3 – 5 week old range. I ended up getting some Costa Rica and some Columbian beans to try out. Unfortunately, both roasts were over three weeks old but I have plans for a coffee time get together this weekend so I will be able to get in to both of them before they get much older. In addition, i snagged a box of Chemex filters and tried one of their«pour overs». Technically, it wasn’t a pour over as they utilize a Clever coffee dripper which is more of a filtered immersion brewer. It was ok; I’d give it three out of five stars. It was a little thin and had a fairly bitter finish to it.

Good coffee. Fun atmosphere. It’s really nice on the inside. Fun place to visit. They now have coffee in Chicago too.

My son has a football game at the local school today. We decided to find a local coffee shop, and because their was rated pretty high we gave it a try. Staff was very friendly, coffee was delicious, and service was fast! Thank you!

Delicious coffee is made by the folks here! On our trip in the area, we walked here every morning to sit out in the patio with our dog and relax with our coffee. The inside is awesome and there is even a neat garden with seating out back. Wish we could clone this place and bring it back home with us.

This place is so adorable! It is a must-visit if you’re in Saugatuck. The coffee is delicious, the staff is friendly, the service is fast, and it’s pretty much within walking distance from everything downtown. I had both black coffee and a nonfat latte from here last weekend and both were delicious. The pastries looked great too but I’ll have to save that for next time!

Super friendly staff and great atmosphere with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I got the green machine smoothie which was a bit expensive but delicious and tided me over between a late breakfast and dinner. The baked food looked delicious and I wish I had been hungry enough to try some. Everyone was raving about Crane’s apple pies from Fenville which they sell there. Also love that they have an open bowl of dog treats.

One of the best espresso, and cold brew coffee shops I have ever been too. The pure quality is unparalleled. Coffee shop rankings tend to get distorted by other factors like pastries, the hipster factor, organic-ness, etc. I’m sure Uncommon Ground is fine on all of these areas, but if you are talking pure coffee and espresso, I would say this place could do pretty well in a taste test against anyone in the world. Espresso is supposed to have a milky beige froth when served, which has kind of been lost with all of those automated espresso machines. These guys are old school, and you can tell as soon as you take the first sip.

Maybe it’s good if they don’t take a half hour to get you a simple cup of coffee. Best to check and make sure they actually put your order in.

Nice little local coffee shop. Quite crowded when we were there on a Sunday but still able to find a place to sit. Comfortable and good people watching. Service was a little slow and it took a really long time(and having to wait in line twice) to get an iced tea. Coffee here is pretty good, but I wasn’t over the moon about it. Was more on the mellow side but not sure which roast they had on that day. Overall recommended. Free wifi.

On an uncommonly brisk summer day, I was more interested in a coffee shop than an ice cream shop, so I was very happy to follow the crowds into Uncommon Coffee Roasters. The feel of the place is very rustic and interesting(definitely wasn’t surprised to hear it was a historic building!). They had a good selection of drinks and treats. I enjoyed a pricey little chai, but it was quite delish. Delish feels like the appropriate word in a place like Saugatuck. I would definitely go here again if I venture to this side of the state again.

Outstanding coffee — both hot and cold brew. Spectacular baked goods. Sparse in the hot food department. Best for just a light breakfast or coffee only. Also has a neat back area with garden. Dog and kid friendly.

Loved visiting this place every morning(and sometimes again in the afternoon) during my stay in Saugatuck. The mocha cooler was so tasty, as well as the regular coffee and lattes. I didn’t try any food or pastries but they looked amazing. Be prepared to spend a little bit…2 drinks ran an average of $ 9 – 10.

Fantastic coffee, fantastic people, and they support small, independent farmers. The egg bake is great and their baked goods(cookies, muffins, and such) are excellent. AND, they have free wi-fi — something that few Saugatuck restaurants have. Is an oasis for cheapskates like me who have inexpensive T-Mobile and their $#!tty coverage(but, I digress, that is for another review…). This is THEPLACE to go for coffee and conversation. The seating area in the back is peaceful and you can get a great chair massage from Steve for just $ 15. If you need more diverse breakfast options, grab a latte or coffee to-go from here and then walk over to Boardwalk Deli.

Go ahead and just skip the so-so breakfast spot around the corner and come to Uncommon Coffee Roaster for your morning joe & meal. Not only is it adorable in there, but the food and the coffee concoctions are downright delicious! As others have mentioned, this super cute local coffee shop boasts an impressive array of baked goods of all kinds. I held back and only sampled the zucchini bread but it was pretty damn perfect. I ordered a specialty latte of sorts with coconut milk, agave and some other magic, and it was smooth, fragrant and nicely balanced. Be aware that the line can get very long and the front patio crowded, but the wait is worth it. It’s the best local coffee and breakfast option downtown!

This place is amazing in every way. Snacks are great and coffee is some of the best I have ever had. It fits the atmosphere of Saugatuck really well. Everyone is nice and I will go here any time I am in Saugatuck. My wife loves their cold coffee. I dont know how they make it but it is the best cold coffee either of us has ever had. I like basically everything they make. I try something new each time and each time I am happy.

Admittedly, I only feel like reviewing a place when I like it. The latte is great. How come national chains can’t make one this good? I also had a ginger molasses cookie. Yum. This is a pretty town, and this is a good place to stop.
