This place has great chocolate desserts. They have great chocolate Lollipops. They also have delectable chocolates in a bag that are to die for.

My husband brings me chocolate from Paris and Brussels but Krause’s is better. Keep up the good work!

The best chocolates ever! Check out this local legend. They make great shapes and do sugar free and organic and every kind of old world chocolate you can imagine. Very cool for grabbing a last minute gift. They’ve got dishes and canisters and wild large shaped chocolates. We had chocolates for our wedding made there with logoed labels etc. very cool.

Great little chocolate shop. There selection is always changing, you can grab a bag of pre packaged and weighed out candies like dark chocolate covered almonds or peanut brittle or you can pick out a few different options and create your own gift box or samples. They always have festive little things for the different seasons and holidays which make nice gifts. The prices are reasonable but some things seemed a bit too pricey(chocolate covered raisins 5 $ for ¼ lb.). Cute little shop though, glad I went in!

In saugerties, not a huge fan of sweet, but I always make exception for Krause candy. Every Time I went there, it make me feel like home and I always can buy a few gift boxes of candy or chocolates for my dear friends. A must visit if you ever come to Saugerties.

In an age in which chocolate is being reinvented as an existential sociopolitical experience, Krause’s remembers that chocolate is above all — candy. Finally made it out to the Saugerties mothership after fleeting samples and descriptions of chocolate over the past three years. I knew what I wanted, and they did not disappoint. The dark chocolate covered ginger is amazing, sophisticated, and certainly a snack for any occasion. Similarly, chocolate-covered orange peels were as excellent as billed. Of note, this dark chocolate isn’t the 90% cacao, bitter adventures that is now becoming upper crust chocolate. Instead, it’s pretty sweet — Hershey’s sweet — and is hell-bent upon melting in the hands(and steering wheel and necktie). Kudos to the staff for putting together a seven-pound custom order right before a holiday weekend on a day’s notice. Additionally, the availability of chocolate-covered frozen bananas(there’s always money in the banana stand) makes a visit doubly worthwhile. Chocolate was meant to taste good. Thanks guys.

I’ve gotten chocolate here many times, always finding it simply mediocre. They do not make the chocolate themsleves; rather they order it wholesale, melt it down, then create the individual chocolates.

My mom got me some goodies from here for Valentines day. She got me CHOCOLATECOVEREDVANILLAWAFERS. Can we say amazing? Both the dark and milk chocolate ones were amazing. I wish I had more. Also some chocolate covered pretzel pieces and a chocolate pop. I don’t know what the prices are on things here but I will be stopping in on my own for some more of those chocolate covered vanilla wafers.

I have come back here twice just to buy their salted caramel chocolates; and I don’t even like chocolate that much! Seriously, one night I drove 40 minutes out of my way just to so I could get two boxes of them. They lasted 2 days. I’m a HUGE fan! I’m sure they have other things I would like, but this is what I have consistently gone back for. They also have cute little boxes and gift sets that look very kid friendly. I’ll stick to what I like for now, and branch out slowly. Man, those salted caramels! So good.

First time I tried Krause’s was when I went with my girlfriend to her hometown of Saugerties. We both moved from NY to California. On occasion I order a good amount of chocolate from here. Mostly in the winter time because I dont want to pay the 10 bucks for the special warm weather packaging lol. I love everything about this place. The chocolate is so rich and delicious. i am a superfan. If ever im in Saugerties again, I’m going to stop by this place and pick myself up some treats lol.

My husband and I were celebrating my birthday in New Paltz and found the new Krause’s Homemade Candy satelite store. They are still making the candies in Saugerties. This new store was only three days old and they were still hanging up shelves. But that didn’t deter me from trying some of the chocolate. I tried the sea salt caramels, the sponge candy and I can honestly say that they were the most delicious chocolate that I have ever had! If you are a chocoholic or just play one on tv, this is a store definitely worth visiting.

Truly have only tried their pecan caramels and the milk chocolate caramels with sea salt. Both were excellent, and if everything else tastes as good as it smells… mmmm…a little pricey, but you expect that in a specialty chocolate shop…

When I tasted my first Krause’s chocolate, I thought I had died and gone to taste bud heaven. Oh my. Nothing says quality quite like homemade, and Krause’s has got this technique down pat. So many delightful and decadent concoctions to choose from. If you can only choose a few, here are my recommendations: The honeycomb chocolate Marshmallow covered in chocolate And the greatest — sea salted caramel MMMMMMM. Great place to grab a small(or not so small) treat for yourself or as a gift for others. And its all reasonably priced, too.

Wow Absolutely LOVE This place! They have all different kinds of yummy homemade chocolates at great prices. They have so many that you could literally stand infront of the show case and try to decide what to get for 30 min. They also have a wide variety for sugar-free! 1lb is like $ 13 and you can have lots of fun shopping for chocolate gift boxes! Who would wanna go to Godiva and spend $ 50 for chocolate gift when you can get a better unique chocolate for only $ 13?

Any where that pays homage to chocolate is a good place… n’est pas? Anywho — I was traversing and thought to pick up some choco treats for a friend who just had a baby — -and their selection was terrific. Unsure? Well thats the best part… my quizzical look got me some choco samples — and now I am hooked! Nicely gift wrapped — -chocolates both mik and dark, nuts and nutless and caramel — did I mention caramel??? And fudge, maple fudge — -ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

In the interest of fairness, we just had to try Krause’s Chocolates and compare and contrast them to those we got at Lucky’s. It is like comparing the polka to a Bollywood routine… I tend to go for the more exotic. Krause’s is undoubtedly popular and loved by many as their chocolates are more traditional. Like the kind Granny would like, at least mine, LOL. We hardly were tortured though by our research and would gladly undertake such a task again(particularly the salted caramel though The L. is partial to anything with peanuts) when next visiting the groovy town of Saugerties!

I miss getting Krause’s for holidays and gifts — nothing tops their dark chocolate almond clusters! I’ve never had anything bad from Krause’s and the people are always friendly. I look forward to getting back to Saugerties to pick up some sweet treats!

hands down the BEST fruit slices on the planet. They are all made with real fruit and they taste like it. The grapefruit are the best but I am also addicted to the watermelon flavor. I shied away from them at first because artificial watermelon is the worst but these taste like biting into a fresh piece of melon. Where else can you get flavors like blueberry and raspberry fruit slices? The chocolate covered marzipan is to die for too. I’m sure everything else is just as delicious but every time I go, I stick to my favorites. Krause’s along with Smoke House of the Catskills make the 6 hour drive from Baltimore to Saugerties well worth the trip.
