I ate dinner there last week and in the past. Their dinners are okay, average. I had fish and chips, and the fish was clearly«fresh-frozen» as they say at the restaurants in some episodes of Kitchen Nightmares, but I don’t expect fresh fish at a place like this. Their clam chowder is average at best, only thing truly good at Friendly’s is their ice cream, which is very good. They get four stars if on ice cream alone, 2 stars at best for the rest.

Slow service but food was decent. The restaurant was packed so I can understand why the food took so long to come out. Will be giving it another try eventually.

I just stopped in for a sundae, about 15 minutes before closing. There was one customer ahead of me at the ice cream counter, but she was ordering multiple sundaes, so I was there for several minutes. During this time, the employee behind the counter accidentally dropped an ice cream scooper on the floor. He picked it up, put it in some kind of holder on the front of the counter, and continued with another scooper. When it got to be my turn, I paid close attention, ready to speak up in case the scooper that had been dropped was picked up to be used on my sundae. It wasn’t, so I breathed a sigh of relief. The employee used another scooper to make my sundae– and as soon as he was done, promptly dropped THAT scooper on the floor. He picked it up and put it in another holder(I don’t know what else to call it) attached to the work area. At no time did I see either of these scoopers get washed off. I don’t know, maybe there was water inside whatever it was that he placed these scoopers into, but I don’t think there was. And even if there was, it would’ve been water that was just sitting around, for who knows how long. To be fair, I did not see either of these scoopers get used to scoop ice cream again after being dropped. But whatever it was that they were placed in, it didn’t look like someplace where you would put something that needed to be washed. It looked like someplace where you would put something that you need to have at the ready to be used again. And the fact that I saw two scoopers get dropped within 5 minutes of each other was a little unsettling. My sundae tastes great, but I can’t help wondering if the scooper used to make it was on the floor 5 minutes before I walked in. I really don’t like writing reviews like this, but I like having experiences like this one even less. On another occasion, I came in with someone else to have dinner, and we were completely ignored. Literally. We stood at the ‘Please wait to be seated’ sign for 10 minutes, during which time at least 8 – 9 different employees walked right by us without so much as turning their heads in our direction. No one ever even took our names. Yes, it was busy, but that’s inexcusable, so finally, we just left. I like Friendly’s– or at least I want to. I grew up with it, and places that take me back to my childhood are disappearing faster than the sundae I ordered. But these days, the overwhelming vibe that I get from their employees– at least at this location– is apathy, and that’s a problem.

The food was fine even though they were out of onion rings. The ambience however left A LOT to be desired, even for a Friendly’s. The kitchen staff, for some reason, seemed to think they were in a sound proof booth somewhere private. The profanity was astounding as was the occasional choruses of «EEEWWWW!» I don’t know what was gross but our food had already come out so, there was that. Never again and no one should ever come here with kids. There was one greeter with dark brown hair who kept saying«The customers can hear EVERYWORD you say» or occasionally«Guys, stop!» But no one listened. No ice cream today friends.

This place deserves a zero. There is no reason for such slow service especially for the food they serve. My partner and I ordered the turkey tips and calm platter and they both came an hour after ordered. that’s ridiculous considering how the clams are fried and the turkey is just tossed over the pan. Not only that but there were at least 5 servers and ~10 tables and it took forever to get there attention — the reason for it? They were sitting around the server area doing nothing instead of attending customers. Another thing I saw was when a server was taking a tables order and she was sitting on the table behind her… so unprofessional and slow! I will never be coming back!

We stopped in for sundaes. Not a meal — just a couple of small, old-fashioned sundaes. We were seated and our waitress walked ever so slowly to our our table to take our order. Then the real fun began… we waited… and waited… and waited… and waited… and finally… waited some more. She finally walked ever so slowly to our table with two ice cream sundaes. That’s how LOOOOONG it took to get 2 small ice cream sundaes. To be fair, I ascertained one of two things… either she couldn’t find the Friendly’s manual on how to scoop ice cream into a dish OR she ran over to milk one the Hilltop cows for the ice cream. Given how slow she was, I’d say the latter.

So so food. Noisy as heck with gangs of kids. Asked to be seated away from noisy kids and got«good luck» as reply. Will not return.

I typically go to Friendly’s because I love their sundaes, but my trip today was awful. We ordered three scoop sundaes at the takeout window. When we got home, we discovered that they were made with only about a ½ scoop of ice cream, a small amount of topping and the cup was filled with whipped cream(most of which melted by the time we got home). I would not recommend this restaurant.

It’s no wonder this location only has two and half stars. The last time we visited the food was barely average. We were assured by locals that it was a fluke. This takeout visit was the last straw. We ordered sundaes. Nothing unusual, we basically ordered off the ice cream menu. Half of the orders had the wrong toppings and the other half barely had ice cream in the cup. We even went as far as calling the regional office and was assured that changes had been made to this location. If you try this location, you’ll see that the improvements were not made. This place gets zero stars.

Showed up, they told us it would take 5 minutes to seat us, as they had to bus tables. Half the tables were dirty, and half were with customers. After about 10 minutes and not one table bussed, we got bored and left. We were first in line, and the restaurant was not really that busy as it was 2 pm on a Friday.

There was nothing wrong with the food. It was great. The service was perfectly fine. It was a good time. My family is weird and our server was very nice about our weirdness. Haahaa always a big fan of the Oreo friend-z

If you want an excuse to go out for ice cream, go to Friendly’s. Their food is pretty sub-par but their ice cream is awesome. We went again last night for dinner and ice cream. Service is always slow but last night was definitely an improvement. But then again, I’ve learned to order the ice cream DURING the meal because it can take a while to prepare(in addition to the restaurant, many people go to the front counter to take out ice cream as well). Yesterday I got the spinach and chicken wrap(no mushrooms or onion, with ceaser dressing). It wasn’t too bad. They have few options on the menu that aren’t fried. I try not to have total food bombs here because of the caloric goodness that comes after the meal.

Love the food and love love ice cream! A few times I’ve been there we’ve had a server named Persy who I adore and is always so personable and nice. However a few times I’ve been there the wait has been over 30 minutes with more than half the tables available. Also there is a woman manger who was once sitting on a table next to the table I was sitting at talking about how understaffed they were for 15 minutes and wasn’t even helping! My server has at least 7 tables and she wasn’t even helping. She even has a mother and two children waiting for 10 minutes before she went over to seat them! YIKES

The manager/hostess was not friendly at ALL! We stood in front of the podium to be greeted and she didn’t say a word to us. We had to finally ask her to be seated. If you’re curious what she looked like, she has a butch haircut and over weight.

They took mac and cheese bites off. This one manager always looks mad and makes me feel uncomfy. They let go the server that made us laugh and wanted to visit here every Friday.

Food is just okay. Best thing about this Friendly’s location was my server, Patrick. He made my night. He accidentally got my order wrong, which wasn’t a huge deal. But, he went above and beyond to meet my satisfaction. If you get him, he’s a sweetheart and he deserves to be tipped very well, especially around the holiday season. Get your last hoorah before Friendly’s goes for good.

On this trip I went with Mom & Son… we had a decent time… The waitress was a little busy so she was all over the place, but she was very attentive to our needs & my son was being a little pain in the butt this trip & she brought me extra oranges(he loves fruit)… Food was decent, I actually wish I took a pic because my burger was delish…

Whatever you do, DONOTEATHERE!!! I took my nieces on Friday night, 7÷9÷2010 because it was their favorite place! I ordered a salad w chicken and some ice cream. The kids had mini burgers and french-fries with their ice cream! I do not know if they didn’t wash the lettuce for my salad, or if they just have a dirty kitchen because I spent Friday night so sick that I went to the«EMERGENCYROOM» w FOODPOISONING! Not only was the service terrible, and it was so OVERPRICED, but I spent the weekend so sick and had to spend additional money for an emergency room co-pay visit! For the money I spent on a «friendlys» night, I could have taken the kids to a «NICE» Restaurant where I know I would not have had gotten FOODPOISONING!!! I will NEVER go back to ANOTHER Friendlys restaurant again!!! I will not chance getting food Poisoned! Id like ALL my money back!

I like this friendly’s. I have only had one bad experience here and that was because I think our 60 year old waitress was overworked, under caffeinated and had a low IQ. This place has decent food, decent waitstaff and the best people watching area. You see so many odd people come here and dine. From the families, to the 5 hispanic guys who look like they wanna kill each other, to the under 18 year old crowd with one girl who is so drunk she passes out on the chair and falls. This place is great.
