I went here to try the drinks and I really enjoyed the atmosphere at the bar. Didn’t try the food tough. I recommend it as a cozy bar!

This 99 Restaurant is close to home, and as we have really been happy with other 99’s we’ve been to(Bedford, MA, Greenfield, MA) decided to give it a try. So glad we did! We’ve brought friends from out of town, and out of country! and have dropped in for a meal when out and about — never had a bad experience. Tonight we fled the Olive Garden in Danvers, MA after being ignored for the better part of an hour(drinks and salad in an empty restaurant takes an hour?) We decided to pull into the 99 as it is familiar and predictable and we were hungry. When we arrived the hostess was busy and a waiter came right over to seat us — very pleasant, no big deal — already we felt as if our business was important to them. Much to our delight, our server was one my daughter and I had had several months ago. She greeted us as old friends and made my daughter’s face light up. Everyone had a delicious and satisfying meal, great attention by the server — friendly and efficient — AND the Red Sox won, so the kids ate free from the kids menu(which is a healthy portion for my teen and tween!). We left feeling as always — relaxed, full, and that our business was appreciated. We will definitely be back again and continue to recommend the 99 Restaurant.

Totally unhappy. Went there with my boyfriend last night. Our waitress was clearly on drugs or definitely high on something. She was in and out of the bathroom for 20 minutes at a time, she barely acknowledged us. Didn’t give us forks until we asked for them and when she brought them they had food caked on them it was so disgusting I didn’t even want to eat my meal with the second set she brought us SOGROSS. The food overall was ok pretty blan. Probably won’t be returning

I really do not like to give negative reviews, and I’ve had better experiences at this location in the past, but this past Wednesday evening(9⁄10) was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in awhile. My friend and I stopped in later in the evening, probably around 9pm. We stood at the host stand for about 5 minutes before being seated. The waitress of course was quick to take our order, but then we barely saw her again after the food was brought out. We ordered nachos, that weren’t that good(how do you mess up nachos?!), and I got this pasta, chicken & sausauge dish that was disgusting. Whatever sauce they use in it– they should probably stop. Also, I’m pretty sure my soda was empty for half of my meal, even though she said she would refill it, and didn’t until she came to take out bill and noticed she forgot. The cheese & crackers are often times my favorite part about the 99, but she did not bring them out until we asked, and even then forgot and had to be reminded again. I probably will not be returning to this location.

Well — I feel sad to be giving the restaurant a 1 star as the food was good and I eat at 99s at least once every 3 weeks or so(different locations). I tried this location for the first time on 7÷24÷14(around 9 – 9:30 pm) and I was shocked at the amount that my credit card was swiped for. First off, the lady server brought about $ 25.xx of bill. Upon giving the credit card, I noticed that it was swiped for 26.xx. Considering that to be a mistake, I did not point it out and adjusted my tip to a total of 30.00. I looked at the charges on my card and it was 30.99. Obviously I do not mind extra 99 cents for the tip but its the practice that I extremely disliked! I will definitely NOT go to this 99 again and suggest you folks to use cash payments to avoid such incidents. Happy dining! :)

Sad to say, I have to deduct a star from my original review. I recently returned to this restaurant and ordered the exact same meal as I ordered from take-out in my first review– the steak tips and chicken tenders combo, with a side order of corn. AGAIN, the corn was completely forgotten. Strange that it would happen twice, but it did. I informed the waitress, but by that time it was halfway through the meal and I told her not to bother– but I did let her know that it was the second time that it had happened. She apologized, but there were no measures taken to make up for the error. When a customer is disappointed not once but twice, one might expect a restaurant to offer that customer some sort of incentive to return for a future visit– otherwise, they very well might not.

Used to go here a lot, but last few months, something is amiss. Often when I go by at night, the parking lot is half empty. Bar used to pack in a lot of people for games, but that hasn’t been the case either. Went there the other night around 8 p.m. Practically deserted. A nice young girl waited on us. I ordered the hot lobster roll. She forgot the butter but retrieved it right away. The lobster meat was dry and tough. Frozen, I guess, but I ordered their lobster rolls a lot last summer and they were always good. A Margarita was served in a tall glass, and was quite watered down. I also didn’t care for the taste so only took a couple of sips and set it aside. Eventually I sent it back and just asked that they remove from the bill.(My meal was just about over at that point so I was wanting to leave). A manager came by and spoke to me, but kept trying to push another drink on me, rather than take it off the bill. They did take it off the bill, but between the poor quality and the manager’s resolution of the problem, I was very disappointed. To think, 99 was always my go-to place for good food, for a reasonable price. I’ve had many of their $ 9.99 specials and enjoyed what I had. I won’t return to the Saugus store.

Giving this place 5 stars because of our waitress Brenna(spelling). She was nothing short of amazing! She went above and beyond!

99 seems to have changed. I like it more all of the sudden.’ Being in the country fried chicken mood, what I ordered was a southern special that wasn’t too shabby. This won’t be the best you’ll have, but it’s pretty good and worth the pay(only $ 9.99!). However the mashed potatoes that come with it, are more than good. It’s fresh, chunky, and of course tasty. I love it. Since I had a coupon for a free appetizer, I decided to get stuffed mushrooms. Once again, they were very good. I recommend them. Two problems I noticed about the 99 though. One, our server was awkward to say the least. He didn’t seem to fit his role. Plus, he rarely check in on our table. Also, the food is good, but I wasn’t stuffed. Yes, I usually always get full after eating at a restaurant. The food is very good, but not very filling. It’s official, I think I’m hooked on the 99 Restaurant.

Stopped in for lunch and was very happy with the service and the menu. Had the chicken salad which was awesome with their mixed greens, mandarin oranges and pineapple sesame chicken. I thought the dressing was a little too sweet as another brand of ginger dressing would have been more appropriate, maybe one with a balsamic base but that’s just my taste. I would definitely eat here again.

My husband and I took our nephew here for his belated birthday gift. As he proclaimed: This is the BESTRESTAURANTEVER.(He’s 13) It was St Paddy’s Day(Saturday) and it was noon. The place was close to being empty… We were seated by a very pleasant woman but our waitress was just… eh. We were given 2 bowls of free popcorn.(Good– Thank You) We ordered our beverages and our apps. Beverages: Bubble Green Tea, Pomegranate Iced Tea and Pepsi. All good Appetizers I got onion soup– BLAND, under cheesed and onions were not soft enough. I was disappointed but the Dockside has set the bar sooo high, I might be ruined! Mike and Andrew shared the fried mozzarella and they both gave it 2 cheesy thumbs up! Entrees: 1. Chicken Fingers and Fries– According to Andrew. DEEEE-LISH 2. Rosemary Balsamic Chicken with broccoli and mashed– The chicken was flavorful, potatoes were OK. broccoli was undercooked and under seasoned. 3. Guinness Meatloaf with mashed potato’s and biscuit– Mike said the meatloaf had a soft texture and it was infused with a too-tangy BBQ sauce. The portion was good but the flavor was not. Doggies ate most of that when we got home Dessert Towering Midnight Chocolate Cake– I mean come on– it’s ice cream and cake. too easy to screw up. Peanut butter Mousse– Terrible. A melon-baller scoop size of SKIPPY peanut butter with a day old rock hard brownie triangle. Disappointing. Cost was OK– 60.00 total for all above. Nothing stood out though. Service was just OK, Value was OK, Quality was OK. We will go back but more out of convenience than anything else…

Stop #3 on the 2011 Evolution Train is «American» food… which is one step up the ladder from fast food. In this particular instance, I tried the 99 restaurant for the 1st time in 4 years. I never used to like this place. There was nothing in their menu that really excited me, and the food always seemed bland. Now I don’t really have anything against them, but nor are they anything special. I got my food from their«To Go» service(don’t I always?). I got chicken fingers and cheesecake and a soda. The chicken fingers were ok. The portion, as to be expected with American food is massive. I finished the chicken, but I’ll be able to eat fries tomorrow. Their fries are spiced, which is always good. When it’s done right, their awesome. Unfortunately, this were already kinda soggy/greasy so the spices are wasted as I’m gonna have to drown ‘em in ketchup to enjoy them. The cheesecake was also pretty good, but once you’ve tried some of the more exotic creations of The Cheesecake Factory, everything else seems tame in comparison. The 99 has a decent selection, and for scavengers like me, they have a very good selection on their«To Go» Menu as well. 99 suffers the fate of a lot of these chain restaurants that are one step above fast food; they’re just alright.

For gluten-free people this is a pretty good place to go. The food is good and they have a dedicated fryer and can always locate the gluten-free menu when asked. Other restaurants have issues with locating theirs. The french fries are awesome and after having gone without them for over THREE years, I was able to eat them and not get sick. Thank you! Out of all the times I have eaten here, only once was a mistake made with my meal. A gluten bun was used on my burger. They apologized and immediately made me a new burger and a fresh batch of fries. Otherwise I’ve had zero problems and have never gotten sick from accidental gluten in this restaurant.

Wholly shit! I never had never boon to a 99 before this but i knew they had a bar with cold beer. So, I had 35 minute to kill before getting my hair cut and this was my only option. I walked over, sat at the bar ordered a Sam’s Summer and looked at the menu. After pounding my first beer I was feeling dangerous so I ordered the lobster roll. The fries and cole slaw were average and the lobster roll was much beter than I expected. Tender, moist and toasted buttery roll with the right amount of mayo. I guess if my options were limited I would go there again, but I wont go looking for it. 2 beers and the lobster roll came to $ 27 not too bad.

I went to the 99 the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and I have never been more insulted, embarrassed and pissed off in my entire life. I went with all my friends from home since we all came home that day from college. The hostess seated us and our waitress came over promptly and introduced herself and her assistant who was training to become a waiter. Next, she asked us what we wanted to drink and we all ordered and when it came time for me to speak up I ordered a Samuel Adams Winter Lager; she then asked to see my I.D. and this is where the fun all starts. After looking at my license, she told me that I did not look like my photo on my license and told me she didn’t believe the ID was mine; since I wasn’t carrying any I couldn’t offer her one and promptly got into the most polite argument I’ve ever been in(no sarcasm intended). She explained to me that in the photo my nose was bigger and that my eyes sat higher on my head, she also said that my face looked fatter in the picture. She told me she had to get the manager and, as she walked away, I realized that everyone in our area of the restaurant was staring at my table and I turned a nice shade of red. The manager arrived at our table with my ID and a smirk on his face and he began to tell me that he didn’t believe I was the person in my license photo. I asked him who he thought it was and he responded with a snide comment about how he didn’t know but he was sure that I was lying about my age. After going back and forth with him, pointing out all the anti-counter fitting measures that the Commonwealth of Massachusetts had put onto the license, he finally admitted that my ID wasn’t fake, but instead, it was some else’s ID. Finally I took the license back from him and ordered an ice water. I want it to be known that if this guy really believed that I was passing a fake ID he should’ve called the cops; passing a fake ID anywhere for any reason is felony. My friends and I came to the conclusion, however, that he simply didn’t want to serve me alcohol because I was one of two people out of eight at the table who was 21. Now lets return to the rest of the meal. Our waitress had trouble remembering who had ordered what entrée when the food came out. I ordered a burger but, instead of getting my burger, she put my friend’s salad in front of me; we finally had to verbally correct her on her mistakes because she wasn’t asking us who got what. When we ordered dessert, my ice cream came out in a chipped glass and when I sent it back she gave me attitude. I won’t lie to any of you, when we left the restaurant we didn’t leave her a tip because we were all so pissed off and embarrassed. I also want it known that my license is valid; I was there the day the photo was taken and the photo is of me and no one else. I have used this license to get served beer in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire. This was the worst experience I have ever had at a 99 restaurant.

It’s just good… As the previous reviewer stated I love there Turkey tips… I’ve tried a couple of times to order something else of the menu and I just cant. Myself and my roommates got takeout here the other night and it actually kind of sucked. But hey you cant hit a home-run every time. The food here is NOT great. But more importantly its never bad. My tips were a little dry and were seriously missing some BBQ sauce, but I still ate them all. They have free popcorn and crackers while you wait and they bring the food out to your car when you get take out. If your too lazy to get your ass out of the car then hit it up.

I love the Ninety Nine and especially this location. It’s just really spacious and bright. Some of the other locations are a little too dark for me. Anyway, this restaurant has the best all-american type food. They have burgers, steak, fried fish platters, and the best strawberry shortcake you could ever imagine! They have really great prices too. I go to this place all the time!
